*Bellatrix*

For some reason, I didn't put on the earrings yet, instead I slipped them into my purse as I followed Alec out to his garage. I stared at the two vehicles parked there and I scoffed inwardly, why would dogs need cars? That just beats me.

"Alpha, would you mind if I drive you?" I had almost forgotten that there were two guards guarding the house. I turned my eyes to them as they stood behind us.

"That won't be necessary Kent, You both should go and joined the others at the boarders.. I might be away for a while." Alec replied them.

"Are you visiting the Pack house?" The one beside Kent whose name I didn't know, asked.

"Yes, I am.. Now please leave. The pack needs the security you can offer more than I do."

"Yes Alpha." They replied, bowing in unison.

The drive to the pack house or wherever it is we were going was unbearably quiet, and we finally got to our destination I immediately let out a sigh of relief.

I snorted as Alec opened his door and got down, expecting me to same without even saying a word to me. Well, I did get down. The pack house was beautiful and just as enormous, I noticed as I stood right in front of it. From the corner of my eyes I could see a pool, well it did look like a pool, but the crystal blue rays emitting from it made me think otherwise.

I did not also miss the elegant trees that encased the mighty house instead of a gate and as we walked farther into the compound, I started to notice the different Lycans littered around, some in their human form, and some in their wolf form, most of them were kids though..

Despite my ever present respite for them, I couldn't help but wonder at the magical feeling I felt as I watched them. The wolves were gorgeous, some were a shining black in color, others a dark shade of brown and a lesser part of them leaning on to the red color side, and even though I did not want to agree, I somehow felt at peace with the atmosphere.

The Lycans seemed to notice Alec's presence as they had stopped their various activities as they bowed to him. Alec smiled at them, waving his hands and they returned back to their earlier activities.

"Are you staying out here or would you come in?" Alec asked, an amused look on his face as he had caught me staring at the wolfs.

"Uh.. I'm coming in" I muttered in reply.

"Have you never seen Lycans in their wolf forms before?" Alec asked as he pushed the door open.

Surprised at his sudden question, I glanced at him. "What?"

"You look flustered just by staring at them, obviously you haven't seen one before."

If only he knew how many I had seen and destroyed with my bare hands, only that they weren't that beautiful. I did not make a move to correct him and I shrugged instead. "Perhaps."

"Even if you had though, The winter wolfs always have an enchanting effect on people they meet, mostly humans. It kind of comes with our nature." He grinned at me, making me marvel at his sudden change in character. He didn't look like the same man that had told me to stay away from him just two days ago, and even the blue flecks In his eyes were starting to shine brightly.

I opened my mouth to speak but I was interrupted a loud squeal from inside the room we had just entered. "Alec!" I raised my eyes to look at the owner of the familiar voice, of course it was Leila. It is then I noticed that there were other people around, probably more than fifty or so.. They were definitely more than that and of course the room contained them. It looked like it was a gathering of the whole pack, no wonder the streets had been almost empty as we drove past it.

"Alpha Alec is here?" My eyes meets Hera just as she stands from her seating position and rushes towards Alec, it isn't long before the others follow suit, the brightness on their face showing how happy they are to see him in their midst. Soon he is pressed together with a good number of people and I quietly slip away from their midst trudging outside through the front door.

I glanced around as I stepped outside, the children or pups as the Lycans preferred to address their offsprings as were still playing around. I stalked toward the pool as it kept drawing me to itself. The crystal blue emittance from it felt like it was calling to me. My feet led me to the edge and I slipped off my slippers as I sat down besides it.

I stared at the water for a while, before slowly allowing my hand to slide into it. The water shook immediately and just like magic it sprang up, shooting water around like a fountain. I gasped, drawing my hand out swiftly and shifted away from the edge.

"What the fuck did you do to the water!" I turned back to see them all gathered behind me with Alec at their front glaring at me furiously.

I stood up, my hands traveling to my neck in a nervous gesture. It was the first I felt nervous in front of people. "I didn't do anything, I only put my hands in it.. That's all, I swear."

"I don't believe you.." He stalked towards me, making me take steps back.

"I really didn't do anything. I am just as shocked as you are."

"The water has never been disturbed by anyone's presence except yours. What are you?" A familiar voice spoke from the crowd, it was Hera. I stepped back again as she came out of the midst of the gathered pack, narrowing my eyes at her confusedly. What is she talking about?

"What are you saying Hera? You can't possibly be thinking that." Alec said.

"As of now I have no conclusion, but she is telling the truth."

"And how would you know that." Alec snapped. I scoffed inwardly at his rudeness to the old lady.

"You do not mean that question,do you Alpha Alec?" Hera smiled and then left, the crowd also began to disperse with her departure.

Alec growled angrily as he stared at me and then stormed off without saying a word.

"Are you okay?" I almost fell over at Leila's sudden presence beside me. "Hey easy" she grabbed hold of me and pulled me farther away from the pool before I could topple. It seemed like the stupid pool drew me out of my wits today seeing as I didn't sense Leila coming up to my side.

"Hi Leila." I greeted with a small smile, adjusting the wrinkled part of my dress.

"Bellatrix.. You seem pale, are you sure you're okay?." Leila asked again, giving me a worried look.

"I'm fine Leila, probably a little flushed but really I'm good." I replied.

She heaved in a sigh. "Look I'm sorry about Alpha Alec, he is not normally like that." She said as she started to lead me away from the pool side.

"Of course I know that, and besides anyone would be annoyed at what just happened." I shrugged laughing lightly.

"It wasn't your fault.. If it weren't for his stupid Alpha's title, I would have whipped his ass for upsetting a lady."

I glanced at her as I guest into laughter. "Really?"

"Of course.." She paused and made a stop in front of the doorstep. "You are not going to leave, are you? He really needs someone to take care of him at this point."

I doubt that, I thought to myself. I smiled at Leila. "I wouldn't leave because of a little incident like this."

"Oh, thank you so much Bellatrix, and..."

"We are leaving. Now." Leila's statement is cut off by Alec's angry voice announcing his presence.

"Alec!"

"Shut up Lee." I rolled my eyes, Leila was right, he really did need whipping. I mean why would he talk to his sister like that. Stupid gorgeous Lycan.

Alec grabbed hold of my hand and started to pull me away, but the shrill ringing tone of my phone stopped him in his track.

Oh shit! Not Tee.

*Bellatrix* Oh shit! Not now Tee. I raised my eyes cautiously to look at Alec, he frowned at me and then let go of my hand. "Are you going to stare at me all day instead of picking the damn call!," he snapped. "Oh, sorry.." I stuttered and looked away. Slowly, I pulled out the phone and I would swear my heartbeat rate increased as I saw Tee's name flashing on the screen. "One minute please" I muttered to Alec and hurriedly walked a good distance away from him before picking the call. "What? I thought you were all knowing and you should have been aware where was." I snapped immediately I put the phone on my ear. Tee tsked from the other end of the phone. "You didn't put on the earring Bellatrix" He said. I scoffed with a roll of my eyes. "There was nothing to hear." I could almost hear him growl, "you do not want to test my patience Bellatrix" "Isn't it too early to make threats, Tee?" I smartly replied a deep scowl etched on my face. "Meet me at Faye's coffee at seven." He s

*Alec* Mate.. Lex's word kept ringing in my head as I made my away from the garage, walking as fast as I could back into the pack house. It was so fucking strange and totally unbelievable, how on earth could Bellatrix be my mate, in fact why would I have another mate? It didn't make sense, but my wolf couldn't be wrong could he? I walked into the pack house, ignoring the greetings from the pack members that were still around and stormed into my office upstairs, it was the office I used whenever I spent more than a day here. I collapsed on the sofa, stuffing my hands into my hair as I groaned in frustration. It didn't take long before Hera whom I had mind linked on my way here entered the room. Hera was the pack's witch and she was also a werewolf which made her an hybrid. She always had answers to every questions if I do not exaggerate, so she should know what this meant. "Alpha Alec, your impromptu summoning of me seemed urgent, anything wrong?" She asked, and as she spoke I knew

*Bellatrix* There were two different things about this time. One, it was fire and two, I was the one being chased not my mum. It was a trail of fire, fierce burning fire and even as I ran, it kept following me, ferociously spreading and almost getting closer.. I kept running, my breath coming out in short gasps and whimpers, it was then I caught sight of the familiar water, the crystal blue emittance sparkling from contact with the rays of sunlight and without thinking I dived Into it. .. "Bella! Bella wake up!" The voice sounded distant and strange. No one called me Bella. "Bella, can you hear me?" I jerked my eyes open, instantly sitting up but I immediately regretted it as a jolt of pain zapped right through my head. I whimpered, just as a strong pair of hands laid me back down. "Easy.." The owner of the hand said, and it took a while for me to recognize that voice. "Alpha Alec?" I gasped turning to stare at him. He sat down by the bed, looking as handsome as ever. "Are you

*Bellatrix* The only thing I wanted to do now was run. Run from this unrealistic yet real life mystery i had just been plunged into, and yes, run did I do. I snatched my hands away from Alec's grip and bolted down the stairs out of the house. Alec didn't call me back nor did I want him to, because if he did, the overwhelming sensation coursing through me might trigger me to do something rash and that was the last thing I wanted. I kept running even after I had left Alec's house and I didn't stop until I got to the bus station that led out of Howls — The residing town of the winter pack territory. The bus came around and I entered, making my stop at the T-junction that led to Faye's coffee where I was to meet Tee. My eyes scanned the shop when I entered to see if Tee was already there, turns out he was. Dressed in an almost similar outfit as the first time i had met him, only that this time he had on a hoodie with his sunglasses. He waved his hands at me from the far end where he sat

I shook my head and stood up, dusting my hands from cleaning the kitchen cabinet. "I told you not to check it, I'm taking a break from work for a while. I mean as long as we are here, we should try to live a normal life" We had arrived Howls yesterday after securing an house to stay. It was rented out to us at a cheap price so I didn't mind the cleaning that had to be done to make it feel a little like home. Not like I couldn't afford a better one, but so far at the rate the number of humans moving to Howls kept increasing, this was the only vacant house we could find. Not like I really cared, we weren't going to be staying for long anyway. Karen raised her eyebrows at my earlier reply to her. "Our lives can never be normal Sis, we both know that." She was right but instead of agreeing with her, I only shrugged. "We co

I would decide to blame it on my blinding anger or the fact that I had nowhere to stay and the night was already here, that I had just pulled into Alec's driveway, but either ways i was here and I had no intention of going back. Well, not now. I got down from Leila's car, not forgetting to press the lock and trudged to the doorstep. My hands lingered on the doorbell as a rational part of me started to contemplate if this was a good idea. Well, my irrational self won and just as I was about to finally press the doorbell, the door itself swung open. Or rather, Alec had just opened it. I took a step back as I stared at him with wide eyes, almost getting lost in his blue orbs that I had not realized he was shirtless until I accidentally glanced down. I regretted it instantly as I felt a burning heat creep up my cheek. I immediately stared back down fiddling with my fingers. I have never been this nervous in my entire life, or I would say I was never one to be nervous but somehow ever

    * Alec * My second chance mate was mysterious. It was something I didn't quite understand yet but I was determined to, by all means. I leaned back on the armchair as the early morning sun seeped in through the half open window blinds. I had woken up about an hour ago, (leaving Bellatrix on the bed as she was still fast asleep) to ponder on the sudden interest in twist in my life. It was weird how I had gone from heartbroken white wolf Alpha, to this Alpha whose second chance mate is a buck load of mystery. I wouldn't have concluded that if I had at least gotten more than a scrap of information about her, but the only thing I was able to find out was that she had a sister who was due to attend Oaks college today. Anything else wasn't found, it was like she didn't exist at all. That alone put me on the edge not to talk of her mere touch being able to cause a disturbance to the pool of transition and the fact that Hera still could not decipher what she was. Also add that, her mere e

*Bellatrix* Anger, would definitely not describe what I felt right now. I gripped my fork tightly as I aggressively stabbed the pancakes on my plate. He just had to speak, he just had to fucking say it out loud! Why the hell would Alec even think I would ever want to be a part of a Pack? Hell! I fucking hated their mere existence, okay probably not all of them, but the fact remains that I absolutely wanted no kind of relations with Lycans, forget the fact that I was getting attracted to one of their kind. I glanced at the door as it suddenly creaked open to reveal a man I certainly do not know entering, he didn't look so old, he would pass as same age as my Father if he were alive now..... "Who the hell are you?" I stood up instantly, my hands sneakily going down to my waist belt to pull put my hidden short gun. The strange man in question grinned at me as he stepped closer. "It is a pity you do not know me little one. I would tell you who I am, but I'm afraid time is a luxury I

"Go to him Bella, this is your fight" His voice is steady but I hear the underlying fear and worry that he tries so hard to hide.I nod and run towards Starkev, Alec swinging his swords against the enemies as I push through the battleground. Finally, I get to Starkev's front, his guards are fighting with Trik's warriors so it's just him and I. I raise my sword and I can tell he is ready for it but I don't move an inch.Starkev turns slowly until he faces me, eyes filled with hatred and something else; desperation?"It seems you have a plan Bellatrix, why not give it up now. [Bellatrix:] It is midnight, I can see it from the little opening at the top of the walls. I need to get out of here. I glance at my brother who hasn't talked to me since his outburst earlier. He is asleep. I sigh. The ropes binding us are laced with dark magic. I know, because I have tried to loosen it out, but each it keeps sending jolts of painful electric bolts down my spine. I bit my lips in anger. This shouldn't be like this. This shouldn't fucking end like this. I shut my eyes, wishing that he was here.. Alec. "No proper training, and yet you call yourself the chosen" I jerk out of my train of thoughts and glance at my brother. "You were not sleeping" I state. He rolls his eyes, "Who sleeps in a situation like this?" I gulp, short of words. My brother is disappointed in me and I have no idea what to do, exept- "You speak like it was my choice, brother" I finally say, holding his icy stare. "Everyone has a choice, Bellatrix!" Operation save my mate from the Dark Fae Kingdom took a lot more planning than we thought and the time was ticking so fast. When we had finally come to a conclusion, an hour has passed. Six hours left."Hera, are we set?"Hera appears how of thin air, holding a book. "What's that?" "Just come with me" Coming with Hera meant her taking us to the pool of transition which was now unfreezed. I glance back at the pack house and it as silent as a graveyard, hopefully there won't be any attacks on my pack while I am away seeing that I am leaving Hera in charge.Hera places the book beside the bank of the pool, kneels and starts to chant incoherent magical words. She then brings out a knife and asks me to stretch my fingers, I do, and in flash she swipes the knife over my thumb, blood spills out and lands in the pool.I don't say anything as my thumb starts to heal. She knows what she is doing."What the hell!" Karen mutters from behind me. The pool starts to shake, and the water shoots

I failed. I couldn't kill him. I got myself killed instead. So much for being the chosen. My head is not throbbing, everything seems at peace. Who am I kidding? If I open my eyes now, I will be alive, not dead like a part of me wished I was. There's no reason to pretend it won't happen again, but if I open my eyes now... I'm still here. And that means he lives, too, Starkev lives and my being alive puts me at his mercy and I hate it.My eyes flutter open and I groan at the pain that hits my abdomen when I tried to move. he had stabbed me with the rain dagger. The rain dagger that does not only maim a warrior, but allows control of one's willpower.Where I am is not obvious, although I am quite sure this is not astrid. Either ways I am in a cell of some sort. The light is dim, but I can see the faint outline of some shelves along the walls, and the bars on my right are made of steel. Thankfully, I notice it is not only Alec that is here. He is here with Ryan, Leila and a bunch of warriors. War is really sneaking up on us as fast as possible. I watch with guided eyes as we now stand on opposite side, a fallen trunk of tree separating us. "You are a King, but you sneak up on your subjects for war, how very low of you" Alec grits out to Steven. "You were never my subject from the beginning, Alexander. The stupid prophecy made sure of that" With those words, Steven lunges forwards with an inhuman speed, aiming for Alec's head. I scream out in warning as he makes contact but nothing else happens. His fist meets thin air, right between the two leaders. Everyone gasps, It appears that Steven's attack failed because Alec simply raises his hand, palm out and Steven stops dead in his tracks. Alec stares at his hand, shocked at the fact that only his palm had stopped Steven from attacking him. He then turns towards Steven who looks just as

I do not reply her, instead I say with much more firmness now, "we should go back""And why should we do that?" She demands.Maybe I am being paranoid, maybe nothing is going to happen , maybe it is just an instinct, but in that moment I want to be cautious even if there's really no danger.I start to speak again, but my words are cut short in my mouth when I hear the creaks in the trees. "I need to go back to Astrid," I think that does something because he snaps his head over to me so fast he nearly gets whiplash.”Why?!” he demands. His voice is harsh and rough. "You can't!" he practically shouts. I stay silent for a few seconds, he speaks again, "Bella" this time it is quieter. He sounds desperate. Now I grin at him, "You didn't want to talk before, I got your attention with that" Alec doesn't look amused, just irritated. "So you are not going?"I shrug, "Not yet, there is a reason why I landed back here, I should find out" Alec stares at me for a long time before speaking again,"I'm sorry about what happened at the packhouse, you didn't have
