'How can a werewolf actually have two fated mates?!'

When a werewolf is born, the Moon Goddess decides who they are fated to be mates with, and so have that person share the same bond with that wolf. Never is there a werewolf who can be fated with two mates, nor was there ever a time when two werewolves were fated to the same mate. So why...? How was it possible that Maddie's wolf would be fated to two? Furthermore...

'Why are you even suggesting it like it's not that big a deal?' Ellie questioned then.

'Because, unlike what you and many other werewolves believe, a werewolf is actually fated to be with two others, not just the one,' Eliza calmly explained, leaving Ellie speechless. 'Let me put it this way. All werewolves are born to be fated with one other werewolf. Then what about that other werewolf? No two wolves can be born on the same day, at the exact same time.'

Ellie wanted to argue against that, but stopped herself and considered what her wolf just said. As Eliza pointed out,
