Evelyn was sitting on the couch in the same room in those same clothes but she changed into her leggings from last night which had dried. She had checked her stomach in the mirror and poked it several times but it didn't hurt, recalling the punch from last night. She didn't know how fast she recovered or maybe it was the perks of being a half-vampire. She chewed on her bottom lips nervously while picking the thread on the shirt. Luckily when she stepped out of the restroom Axel was nowhere in sight but a middle-aged man named Gareth was standing there as he offered her a smile and placed a tray of breakfast on the table. He told her that Mr. Knight brought her to the cottage last night and she should contact Gareth if she needs anything. She requested him to send any female staff in the room and to her surprise she found out there was no female staff which led her thoughts haywire and she tensed. Who changed her clothes then? She barely had a few morsels of breakfast and sat on t
She noticed as Daniel slipped away somewhere giving them the privacy to talk. Breathing in deeply she decided to talk to him properly. There were a few things that needed to be discussed. "I want to talk to you," She whispered and his ears perked before he stepped aside. "We can talk in my room," He said before urging her to step ahead of him. Once inside the room, he closed the door behind them as she faced him. She was nervous and scared. And amidst all this, she was scolding herself for melting in his arms like that in the morning. But it was like her body had a mind of its own. Maybe it was the warmth of his body or his scent, she didn't know. "About... About last night, I'm thankful that you saved me." She whispered in a mild tone. "You don't have to thank me, Evelyn. I had to save you no matter what. You might not believe me but you're important to me," His deep voice was thick with emotions and the sincerity in his voice had her lowering her gaze as she inhaled deeply.
Axel's hold on the steering wheel tightened to brute force as he saw Chris grabbing her hand in his. He couldn't hear what they were talking about but the man had worry etched all over his face and it seemed like Evelyn was trying to assure him that everything was fine. And then she slowly pulled back and covered her nose. Axel watched like a hawk. He knew she was hungry. He wanted her to feed off him but he didn't realize that things would turn so drastically. He was hoping for them to stay in that cottage for a few days, he wanted to spend some time with her and beg for her mercy. It was obvious, she was attracted to him and her body responded to his touch no matter how much she tried to hide it but her words rang in his head loud and clear. "If you won't take me off guard like that again, I assure you it won't happen again. Not from my side," She was so confident when she said that. He didn't like it. And it churns him to know that she would rather let her life be in danger rat
Evelyn was tense as a board as she continued to prepare orders. She snuck a glance at him. He was dressed in a waiter's uniform which was too tight on him but he was garnering too much attention. The coffee shop was fully packed and almost all the customers were young girls who were gushing over him as soon as he brought their orders. "I never thought the shop would be fully packed one day," Chris commented, rubbing the nape of his neck as he went to the back room to get an extra change of cash. She was pouring the milk very cautiously to get the perfect heart when all of a sudden she stilled and the puff of hot breath on her ear had her flinching, the girl was about to ruin the coffee when a big calloused hand grabbed her small one and steadied it. "Table three is waiting for their orders, ma'am," He rasped and she shivered at how close his words had fallen on her skin. "T... Two minutes," She stuttered and took a step forward to create some distance between them. "Why are you
"And we are getting a divorce," She said curtly trying to remove his hand from her face but he didn't budge. "I want you to give me a chance," He said in a gruff voice and her brows shot up. "Chance? Chance for what? Hurting me? Threatening me? Blackmailing me? Caging me again?" She gritted through clenched teeth and he closed his eyes for a brief second. His hold on her loosened and she slapped his hand away. "Evelyn," His voice almost sounded pained. "Just one chance. All I need is a single chance. Let me earn your forgiveness please," His deep voice held raw sincerity as the girl stepped back. "Why are you here, Axel? What is all this?" She demanded sternly. He sighed, licking his lips before looking away, one of his hands resting on his hip. "Your life is in danger, you won't stay at my place. How could you expect me to sit around and wait for them to take you away? You don't realize what you are, Evelyn, and if the council of those f*ctard vampires found out. They'll..." He
Evelyn knew what she was doing. Her despair was on one side and rationality on the other. She knew only Axel could keep her safe but she was being stubborn and it could've caused her Chris' life. She didn't want to lose him. He was her friend. He was there when she thought she'd be left all alone. Just as she expected, the news was all over the place about Axel working as a waiter in a coffee shop. At first, no one was believing this before a random picture of him went viral in which he was serving customers. Though Axel had tried to be subtle with casual clothes and bangs. But it seemed like someone had recognized him. In the afternoon he gave his statement to the press that his wife works in that coffee shop. It was her hobby. Her boss needed a hand so he just helped them out for a day. He further said that it was refreshing and he realized how much effort an employee makes, so this miniature work of a few hours had taught him the great importance of hard work. His statement was
Axel prowled into the dark alley. His shoulders squared and chest puffed out. His stance spoke volumes of dominance and power as the man ahead bowed his head before stepping aside as the door slid open. He stepped into the entrance which had a tiny reception and an elevator. Axel got into the elevator along with Daniel as it slid close. Daniel pressed the basement and they waited. There was a humming aura of darkness engulfing him. His grey eyes held a storm of viciousness as the man breathed with ease. But the vein popping in his neck gave away his rage. The door slid open and two of his men bowed slightly before stepping back to give him space. Axel walked ahead into the narrow passage. A bulb dangling from the roof was the only source of light in that passage. His nose scrunched when the scent of rotten blood and piss reached his nostrils. He stepped into the clearing when he inhaled the ugly scent of that bastard. His eyes glided over the bars that held her prisoner. "Where'
Gabriel sipped on his wine in a leisurely manner. His eyes glided over to the sweaty bodies dancing on the dance floor. It was boring like every other day. He was waiting for the alpha to show up. He wondered how he must've killed Adonis. One of his men walked over to him and informed him about Axel's arrival. A grin plastered on his face as he got to his feet and stalked into his office. The sight felt so beautiful to his eyes. Axel was sprawled on the couch with blood all over his crisp white shirt. He could inhale Adonis' scent on him. "What a pleasant sight," Gabriel mused in ecstasy. The maniac had an unhealthy obsession with blood. No matter who the blood belongs to, he loves it when someone loses their morality and kills another. It gives him sardonic peace. "I brought you two of his fingers as you asked," Axel said as Daniel threw the plastic bag on the table that had two guillotined fingers in it. "Very well," He said and hurried to the bag before looking at the fingers
