Elosie’s POV

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, happy birthday,” I woke up to my parents singing in my room with a cake.

“Oh, my baby is so grown, I can’t believe it,” my mother said hugging me with tears in her eyes.

“She is our baby, you know,” my father said as he joined in our hug.

“Happy birthday sweetheart,” my father said as he kissed my forehead.

“Thank you, father.” I said leaning into his hug.

“Alright blow your candle and make a wish,” my mother said presenting the birthday cake to me.

I blew out the candle and made my wish.

May I encounter peace from here onward. I wished.

“What did you wish for?” My mother asked.

“Mother, wishes are meant to be secrets from them to work,” I said to my mother smiling.

“If you tell me that doesn’t mean it won’t work,” my mother said trying to convince me to tell her.

“Mother, you know that is not how wishes work,” I said laughing.

“Okay don’t tell your mother, but you can tell me,” my father said smili
