LOGAN’S POV

In no time, Killian and I returned to the palace. I heard from Naniel that Ghen and Luke were being hospitalized. It turned out that after Luke passed out from being hit on the head by a rock, Ghen had to carry him all the way here; Ghen who was still feeling hazy from the hypnotizing spell.

I took the day off to rest until I’ve regained all the strength I’ve lost.

“Gertrude, I was thinking…”

“…you were thinking about having a drink but you can’t because the witch doctor had told you to use your hands only when necessary. Am I right?” Gertrude asked.

“It’s kinda crazy how you know what I’m about to say,” I said, wearing a wide grin on my face.

“What do we do, Logan?!” Gertrude exclaimed angrily. “I was really looking forward to having whiskey after I returned!”

“Quit whining. You can survive a day without whiskey,” I said with a serious look on my face.

“Why are you looking so gloomy, Logan? Are you also sad you can’t have whiskey? I know how it feels, Logan. It’s very—”

Weren’t you supposed to be busy today? Did you forget anything that you suddenly remembered?”Beth hesitated before she answered. She had noticed that I hid something before in a rush. “What was that?”“What was what? What are you referring to? I do not understand you,” I said, unknowingly making myself look suspicious.“I mean, what was that? The book you hid behind yourself? It looks flashy. May I see?“ Beth asked.“I’m sorry but I can’t show you. It’s personal,” I said as I returned the book into my wardrobe.Just when Beth and I were discussing, we heard a knock on the door of the room. It was Alpha Scott. Alpha Scott had stopped by to drop off Grandal. Grandal was tired from playing so he slept off. I showed my appreciation to the alpha before he left. LOGAN’S POVI went into my bathroom to wash my face. I splash water on my face as I gazed at myself in the mirror. I lifted my red colored hair and tied it at the back of my head. I placed my right hand on my right eye that was no more. I felt inside the eye. The flesh and the blood gushing as I moved my fingers inside the eye still felt fresh. Anytime I touch my right eye, I recall what happened between my father and I. How he hit my mother to death and how I stabbed him to death. Those nightmares still haunt me at night. They were more than just nightmares, it felt like a curse.A curse I was burdened with. A curse I had to carry on my shoulders till the rest of my life. When I die, I hope this curse does to me. I’d always hoped I died early and that’s why I’ve seeked a successor that would carry on the Red beast pack. The members of my pack aren’t supposed to suffer because of my curse. They deserve to live in unity even after my death. I untied my silky red hair and let some of it

LOGAN’S POV“There’s no way you can convince me now that-that-that you aren’t drunk!” Gertrude burped loudly.“I am not,” I gazed at the stars.“Grant me this wish if you’re truly in heaven, oh God,” I whispered. It turned out that Gertrude emptied the two bottles of whiskey before I could pour myself another glass. He became drunk and began to speak gibberish. I grabbed his string and returned to my room. After tying Gertrude’s string on my wardrobe, I fell asleep..I heard a knock on my door. The knock on the door forced me to leave the wash room unfinished.“Who is it?!” I asked angrily. I was really close to taking off my clothes.“Luke, Master. I’ve gone with a report. A report you’ll be pleased with,” Luke said from behind the door.“You may come in, Luke,” I invited him into my room.Luke entered while gesturing a bow before me.“What was the satisfying news you said you had for me?” I asked impatiently.“The informants you had ordered to monitor the movement of other packs ha

LOGAN’S POV“What will be Timothy’s duty concerning this plan?” Luke asked with a puzzled look laced around his face.I snatched a half empty bottle of whiskey that was on my desk. I brought out three empty glasses from my cupboard. I then equally emptied the bottle of whiskey into the tree glasses. I gave a glass to Gertrude, and another to Luke and then I took the last.“Though it may seem like I’m done with the first step of my plan. The truth is that I haven’t even begun with my first step. Which means that Timothy hasn’t completed his tasks yet,” I said as I sipped from my glass.“What does that mean?” Luke asked. “If Timothy hasn’t completed his task, then why did he return? What truly is Timothy’s task?”“I’ll answer all your questions, Luke. You needn’t rush. The reason Timothy returned is quite simple. Now what truly is Timothy’s task? Timothy’s task is to become a trusted member of each pack-Not only that, Timothy was also assigned to become a trusted advisor of each alpha.

LOGAN’S POV“Care to repeat what you just said?” I asked with a calm tone.“Uhm…I mean…you could pretend. You could ask for her hand in marriage and snatch her pack from her even before getting married to her. Is this a great idea, Alpha Logan?” Timothy asked.“It’s isn’t good nor bad. I’ll put your idea into consideration,” I responded.“It sounded like a wonderful plan to me,” Gertrude said, wearing a wide grin on his face.“Timothy?” I called.“Yes, alpha Logan?”“I would like to visit each pack one after the other to form an alliance. Unfortunately, if I request for a meeting, they’ll just frighteningly reject without consideration, and that’s where you come in…Timothy, I shall send letters to request for a meeting and you will use your power to accept them. You would do that won’t you?”“You have my word, alpha Logan,” Timothy gestured a bow before exiting my room.“Very well then,” I took the bottle of whisk and turned it above my glass but nothing came out. LOGAN’S POV“Luke, inform the rest of my prestigious men that a meeting is to be held immediately. The meeting will begin in an hour. Be sure to have them arrive before the meeting commences,” I said so I got up from my bed.“Yes, Master,” Luke gestured a bow before leaving the room.I grabbed Gertrude’s head and headed for the bathroom. I dipped his head in the tub because I had noticed the letters I sent two days ago. They’ve been stamped as accepted and sent back. I had left the letters on the table by the big mirror in the bathroom.I snatched the letter from the table and had a look at them. I had planned to visit the first three packs who were secured on the plan. I had planned to visit the other two packs on an occasionally different day. I plan to gain their trust without the help of my spy, Timothy. After freshening up, I left for the meeting room..“I summoned you all here because I wanted to inform you all about my meeting today. LOGAN’S POV“Your meeting with the alpha of the wolftillian pack sure needed fast,” Killian mentioned.“You’re right,” Naniel cut in. “It was as if you knew what would happen before it happened.”I reached into my pocket and pulled out my pocket watch. I took a glimpse at the watch before inserting it into my pocket. The time said a quarter past four. We had spent five hours traveling and two hours in the wolftillian pack. We had already left the territory of the Wolftillian pack and headed for the territory of the Red claw pack. Though it was getting pretty late. Fortunately for us, the three packs I had planned to visit today aren’t so far apart.“Where are we headed next? What pack do you intend on visiting next?” Luke asked.“The Red claw pack,” I said with an expressionless look on my face.“The Red claw pack…” Killian said while caressing his chin. “I’ve heard of that pack before. I just can’t remember what they were famous for.”“You’ve forgotten that they were ruled by Thunder

AMBER’S POVIt’s been three days since I last visited the butterfly garden and I’ve been dying to visit it again. But it seems like Grandal doesn’t want to leave me alone. He’s been clinging to me more than ever. He’s also fund of alphas Scott. That’s a relief to me because I could leave him with the alpha and have some alone time for myself where I could admire butterflies or sit down on rocks near the waterfall.I opened my diary and read about some of the butterflies I had written about from my last visit. I also managed to draw some of them but anyone could tell that I was a terrible artist.“These species or butterflies in the garden are only two and they’re super rare. They could only be found in the desert. And they really adorable! I wish I could have one for myself. I want to look at it everyd as I wake up so I know that my day is blessed. It’s a good thing that Alpha Scott is playing with Grandal,” I offered a deep sigh of relief. “The sun has began to set, I think I should

LOGAN'S POVIt's been a week since Amber and I were joined by the mating bond in the mating ceremony. The preceding days have been nothing but blissful. Carrying Grandal everywhere with me, even to court meetings with the elders of the pack. It felt like I was trying to make up for the times that we were apart from each other. As for Amber, she glowed every day, blossoming like a flower. Every day, I set my eyes on her, I can't help but desire to take her to bed and make love to her.But then, I didn't mean to rush things. I had treated her badly in the past, sexually, and would want our sexual encounters henceforth to be better. It was a bright cool morning and I prepared for my meeting with the elders. We had a lot to deliberate on, and I wouldn't want to keep them waiting.I arrived at the pack's house, the sun slowly rising from its abode in the sky. I walked into the hall and the elders were already seated, their faces expectant.I exchanged pleasantries with them, as I took my s

LOGAN'S POVI had assembled my men on returning from the seer's home. I filled them in on what the seer revealed, and I also informed them about the ritual to be held. They were all supportive as they all wanted Scott defeated as much as I wanted. So in the preceding days, I made preparations for the ritual, making provision for all the necessary materials we needed. And so the D–day arrived. The seer led me and my men to a large, open field on the outskirts of the Red Fanged Pack's territory. The moon was full in the sky, casting a silver glow over us. My men stood in a circle around me, their eyes fixed on me.The seer stood at the center of the circle, her eyes closed, her hands raised to the moon. “The moon goddess demands a ritual to weaken Scott's hold on the sacred pot,” she declared, her voice reverberating across the field.I nodded, my heart pulsating with anticipation. I knew that this ritual was the key to rescuing my mate and son.The seer began to chant, her voice risi

LOGAN'S POVThat night, I couldn't sleep as I kept tossing on the bed, nightmares of Amber and Grandal sleeping in a dungeon plaguing my dream.I couldn't believe Scott could be that cruel to a little child. I was even more angry at Amber for running off to my enemy's territory.I was unable to sleep as I rose from bed in the wee hours of the morning to visit my study. I tried to attend to some paperwork to get my mind off the events of the previous day, but I couldn't.It was in my restless state that I fell asleep on my study chair. The knock on the door roused me from sleep.“Come in,” I answered, groggily sitting up.My advisor stepped in, his face bearing an urgent expression. “Good morning, Alpha. The seer has sent for you on the moon goddess’s order.”My eyes immediately lit up. “Is it about my mate and son?”“I doubt. You have to hear her call right away.”I nodded and rose from the chair as I made my way back to my chambers. I freshened up and got changed into something befit

SCOTT'S POVAfter sending out the letter to Logan, I instructed my men to get prepared because I was sure Logan would come for war.He was a man of pride who never said no challenges, and just like I predicted, he arrived with his men Two days after I sent out the letter.“Alpha Logan and his men are here, armed to the teeth.” My advisor came to inform me, in my study.I let out an amused laughter. “Just like I expected. The men should not panic because he and his men won't be able to penetrate.” I said with so much confidence. My advisor nodded and exited the study. After he left, I took my time before heading outside to see Logan and his men. I walked out of the study, a smirk plastered on my face. I made my way to the palace gate, where Logan and his men were waiting. As I approached, I could see the determination in their eyes, but I knew it was futile.“Logan, Logan, Logan,” I said, shaking my head. “You really thought you could take on me and my pack? You're no match for us.”

The reason being that I wanted everyone to be fully recuperated for the tasks at hand.I intended to restore the pack to its previous state. Compensate every family that Noel had killed their loved one or loved ones or stolen from them.I also intended to compensate Jayde and Laura for the inhumane treatment meted out to them by Noel. I also handed back the Zion's pack back to Laura.Afterward, I want to begin my search for Amber and my son. But before that, I had to summon the moon goddess for her opinion.“You all are welcome,” I said to my men as they all assembled in the throne room, on my orders.“We have a lot to discuss, but first I want to specifically thank you all for sticking by me. It is only unfortunate that we lost one of us during that trying mind,” at the mention of that, their eyes turned misty.“Wherever he is, Killian will be happy to know that we got the pack back. SCOTT'S POVI stormed out of Amber's room, my vision blinded by fury. I couldn't believe that the woman and her child I have been harboring and come to take as family are the mate and son of the man I detest with every single fiber of my being.Amber–who would have thought a woman as calm, conserved and innocent like her is capable of such deceit? More reasons why quiet females should be avoided at all cost.I arrived at my study, the walk from Amber's room doing nothing to alleviate how I was feeling. I felt used, betrayed and foolish.Lowering myself on my seat, I reminisced on the raid carried out by Logan and his men. My fury skyrocketed as I thought about the number of my soldiers and pack members that were lost that night. No matter how hard I tried to wave the painful thoughts, owing to my promise to Amber to keep her and Grandal safe, the images of that night still came surging back like an angry tide.My heart constricted painfully in my chest. You need to recover first, he will be here to get the penalty of his deeds. You need detoxification as I can smell poison all over you.” Sir James said, pulling me backward. As if on cue, I felt a wave of dizziness and I staggered backwards.“Are you okay?” I heard different voices in the background as my head swoon. I tried to stay stable, but couldn't. I doubled up, and my legs gave way beneath me as I lost consciousness. That was all I recalled as I woke up to find myself on a bed. Groggily, I opened my eyes and was met by pairs of worried eyes staring down at me.“Thank God he is awake,” a voice said, and I tried to prop myself up on the bed but stopped as a banging headache overtook me.“Don't stress yourself, Logan.

These people mean business, and the arms that they have with them are ones that I have never seen before.” Olivia explained, her eyes misty with fear.“Go on, I'm coming after you.”Hesitantly, she stared at me before hurrying off.Confusion overtook me as I slipped into my fighting clothes, wondering who these Invaders were. And to worsen things, they attacked at night, a vulnerable time when everyone would be exhausted from their diverse daily activities. My confusion was replaced by fear. My soldiers are not prepared enough because no one was expecting an attack.“Cowards!” I cussed at the Invaders.
