Lilith’s smirk widened, the kind that made my skin crawl. She leaned closer to the car window, her eyes gleaming with amusement. “I’ll tell you what you want to know, Ralph,” she said, her voice as smooth as silk. “But only if you agree to one condition.”

I narrowed my eyes, already knowing I wouldn’t like where this was going. “Spit it out, Lilith. I’m not in the mood for games.”

“Oh, it’s no game,” she teased, her tone light but loaded with insinuation. “Meet me in your room tonight, and I’ll tell you everything.”

For a moment, I just stared at her, unable to believe the words coming out of her mouth. “Are you serious right now?”
