The Letter

Miranda's POV

I thought of opening the letter, but got second thoughts. I wouldn't want Damien to see this. I know nothing of what was in the letter, and I wouldn't want Damien to have the wrong impression or anything close to that.

And so I decided to put the letter in my bag and pretend as though nothing happened.

"What's in the letter mom?" Damien asked.

"What?" You mean the letter?" I asked, a bit nervous.

"Mom, I don't understand. Those bad guys dropped a letter and you're putting it inside your bag?" He asked with furrowed brows.

I thought of what to say, in order for him not to think the wrong thing. I thought for a while.

"Mom, explain to me, Will you?" He implored.

And then I took my gaze back to him. "Do you know why I did that?" I asked, while he shooked off naively.

"I did this, in order to protect us dear, and be able to find those criminal." I muttered to him as he jolt a brow in confusion.

"How mom? I don't seem to understand any of this." He replied.
