Sophia

I was training the warriors with my two best friends, Emma and Conrad. Emma was going to be my beta in a couple of months when I took over the alpha title, and Conrad didn’t know it yet, but when I did become alpha, I planned on promoting him from warrior to gamma, my third in command. The three of us were extremely close and usually did everything together. Emma’s younger sister, Maya, hung out with us on occasion, but her interests were a little different from ours. She was more of a girly girl, not really into training and pack business. Not that there was anything wrong with it, but she would rather spend her time at the mall or reading gossip magazines. That was probably why she didn’t always want to hang out with us.

Emma was a month older than me. She was five-foot-eight with a slim yet muscular build. She had curly dark brown hair that reached mid-back and hazel-colored eyes. I would describe her as easygoing and always in a good mood.

Conrad was two years older than us. He was six-foot-two with short black hair and green eyes. He had broad shoulders and a muscular build. The ladies were always swooning over him, but somehow it didn't go straight to his head. He wasn’t interested in dating anyone because he was waiting for his soulmate. I would also describe him as easygoing, but very protective when he needed to be. I’d only seen him mad a handful of times and when he was, he could be quite intimidating.

“Break off into groups of three and practice fighting two against one,” Conrad instructed before the warriors broke off and started sparring. Once they were all practicing, Emma and Conrad turned their attention toward me.

“What’s up, Sophia? You seem off today?” Emma asked with a curious look on her face.

“Yeah, you haven’t broken anyone’s nose during training yet. What’s the deal?” Conrad added.

“It’s nothing,” I said with a heavy sigh.

“We’re your best friends, Sophia. Do you honestly think that lie is going to work?” Emma asked with an eyebrow raised. I chuckled dryly and shook my head. I should have known better than to try and lie to them.

“I saw Gloria and Dennis leaving my father’s office this morning. Today marks three years since Cole disappeared, and it’s kind of been weighing heavy on my mind,” I replied with a heavy sigh.

Emma’s eyes immediately filled with tears, and I knew that would happen. That’s why I didn’t want to bring it up.

You see, Cole was only a few months older than us, and we all grew up together. He was like a big brother to Emma, Maya, and me. He was an amazing and caring soul that would give you the shirt off his back without thinking twice. The day before his sixteenth birthday, he disappeared without a trace. We searched everywhere and contacted every single pack in the country but found nothing. It was like he just vanished into thin air. His parents or I should say adoptive parents, Gloria and Dennis, never got over the loss of their son. Every couple of months, they visited my father to see if he’d received any new tips on his whereabouts. Sadly, we hadn’t had any information to help us locate him.

My parents had been very secretive about Cole’s biological parents. All they told me was that they were both dead and they flat-out refused to give me any more information than that. I’d always had my suspicions that there was more to the story, but I wasn’t exactly sure what it could be. Even Cole wasn’t told much about his parents, but it didn’t seem to bother him. He loved his adoptive parents like they were his biological ones, so he never pushed for more information.

“I can’t believe I forgot. I hate that I’m starting to forget more and more about him, " Emma whispered as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.

“It’s not your fault. I didn’t remember what today was either until I saw Gloria and Dennis this morning. I miss him,” I admitted.

“Come on, ladies, don’t be sad. How about this? Let’s hang out tonight and reminisce about the past. Remember that time when Cole accidentally ingested wolfsbane? He was all loopy and kept calling me Emma and proclaiming his undying love for me. Or that time when he fell asleep, and we drew penises on his cheeks and forehead, and it took him almost an entire day before he noticed. He kept wondering why everyone was looking at him funny,” Conrad reeled off, and by the end, we were all laughing over the memories. Wolfbane was a substance poisonous to werewolves. It made you feel drunk in small doses, but in bigger doses, it could be fatal. When it was in your system, it also put your wolf to sleep, and you couldn’t shift or speak to them.

“What do you say?” Conrad asked while glancing between Emma and me with hopeful eyes.

“Sure, let’s do it,” I replied, and Emma nodded in agreement.

“Good, now let’s focus on kicking these warriors in the ass. I expect at least one of them to be sent to the pack hospital by the end of training,” Conrad joked, causing Emma and me to chuckle.

The rest of training went by without a hitch. To Conrad’s complete disappointment, no one was sent to the hospital.

We were just about to head back for lunch when I received a mind-link.

Sophia, I need to see you in my office right away. My father’s voice stated through the link.

I’m heading back to the packhouse now. I’ll be there in five minutes. I replied before cutting the link.

“Sorry guys, I need to pass on lunch. My father wants to see me,” I told Emma and Conrad.

“Boo… We can wait for you if you want,” Conrad said.

“Nah, you guys go. I don’t know how long I’ll be,” I replied.

“Suit yourself. Say hi to my favorite second dad for me,” Emma stated, causing me to chuckle. Since our parents were extremely close, our families spent a lot of time together. Emma considered my parents as her second family, and I did the same with hers.

“Will do. I’ll catch up with you guys later,” I replied before breaking off from them and heading toward my father’s office.

When I reached his office door, I knocked.

“Come in.” I heard my father announce from inside the office.

I opened the door and found my father sitting behind his desk while my mother, Isabella, sat across from him. They both had grim expressions on their faces.

“What’s going on?” I asked with a frown, slowly making my way to the chair next to my mother.

“Have a seat, Sophia,” my father said, his expression never changing. I immediately took a seat and waited for one of them to speak.

“We just got a call from Rider,” my father started, and I immediately rolled my eyes at the mention of his name. I couldn’t stand the guy. He was arrogant and thought he knew everything. Not to mention, I thought he was a sexist donkey.

“What does that clown want?” I asked, unable to hide the distaste in my tone.

“Sophia, watch your mouth,” my father warned.

“As I was saying, Rider called. Rogues attacked his pack today, and they lost another warrior.” My father’s words immediately made my frown deepen. As much as I disliked Rider, I didn’t like hearing about innocent people dying.

“The rogues are becoming a major threat to the smaller packs. It’s time for us to put an end to them.” This time my mother spoke, and I could hear the frustration in her tone.

“What are we going to do?” I asked while glancing between the two of them.

“I’m sending you, Emma, Conrad, and a few other warriors to The High Mountain Pack. I want you and Rider to work on this problem together and come up with a solution,” my father replied, and I internally groaned. Rider and I couldn’t even agree on simple things like what toppings go on a pizza. How the hell were we going to come up with a solution to this rogue problem without hurting each other?

“You know how he is; he won’t agree with anything I say even if he knows I’m right,” I replied with a huff.

“This is a test, Sophia. Your birthday’s in two months. If I’m going to step down as alpha, I need to know you’re ready to take over the role,” my father replied with a pointed look.

“But I’m not the problem. He is,” I groaned. My mother chuckled but tried to hide it with a cough, causing me to glare at her.

“Hun, you know I love you, right?” I know her question was rhetorical as I could see a hint of amusement in her eyes, which only irritated me further.

“I hate to break it to you, but you’re just as stubborn as Rider. You two will need to put your differences aside and work together as a TEAM,” she added.

I wanted to roll my eyes and tell them I refused to go, but I knew this was my opportunity to prove that I was ready to take over the alpha title. I wasn’t going to let some stupid dumbass get in my way from claiming what was rightfully mine. If he didn’t want to play nice, I would have to play dirty.

“Sophia, what’s going through that head of yours?” my father asked in a disapproving tone. I internally scolded myself for accidentally letting them see the mischievous smile that I knew was visible on my face.

“Nothing, Father. I was simply brainstorming ideas on how to deal with the rogues,” I said innocently while batting my eyelashes. From the look on my father’s face, he didn’t believe a word I was saying. I looked over at my mother to see her trying to hide the amused smile on her face with her hand.

“There’s one more thing we wanted to talk to you about. I’m unsure if it has anything to do with the rogue attacks, but it definitely could,” my father said, drawing my full attention back to him.

“When your mother and I first met, things didn’t quite go smoothly,” my father started and winced at the thought. I heard my mother snort beside me at his words.

“Umm... You mean locking up your mate in a room for a week isn’t smooth?” my mother cut in sarcastically, and my eyes widened. They had never told me about when they first met. I just assumed it was like every other mated couple. You meet, you fall in love, the end.

“I’ve apologized for that a thousand times. Will you let me continue?” he replied while shaking his head. My mother didn’t respond, but I glanced over and saw her lips pinched into a thin line. It seemed that she was still a little bitter over the subject, even if my father had already apologized.

“Like I was saying, our start was a little rough around the edges. We didn’t quite get along at the beginning, but I swore to her father that I would keep her safe. That’s how she ended up locked in a room. She’s stubborn like you, so I had to lock her up for her own protection. At least, that’s what I thought at the time. Looking back, I know I didn’t handle things in the best way.” My father gave my mother a pointed look before continuing. I thought he would get another snarky comment from my mother, but to my surprise, she remained silent.

“There was a rogue alpha who was obsessed with her, and he wanted her as his mate. He kidnapped her, with the intention of forcing the mate bond on her. He figured she would produce strong heirs given her royal bloodline. Luckily, we stopped him before it was too late. He’s now dead, but sadly, his beta, Thomas, got away. We searched high and low for him but never managed to find him. It’s been nineteen years, and I’m not even sure if he’s still alive. The only reason I’m mentioning it is because these attacks are very similar to what happened back then. I want you and Rider to be aware of him in case he has something to do with all of this. He has a huge vendetta against our family. His sister, Jill, tried to kill your mother out of jealousy. She ended up being executed for her crimes. If Thomas is alive, he will want revenge against us.” My father’s admission shocked me to the core.

They had never told me any of this. I knew that my mother and uncle, Declan, were the only survivors of the royal bloodline, making me and my cousin, Jonah, royals. But I had no clue of the risk that came along with that title. It made sense now that I thought about it. I was stronger than most werewolves, and my wolf, Malia, was big and lethal. I could see why people would be after us.

“We don’t want to worry you. We just wanted you to be aware of this in case that name comes up in the investigation,” my mother added while putting her hand on my shoulder.

“Why didn’t you guys tell me this sooner?” I questioned.

“Honestly, we didn’t want to worry you. We figured he was long gone until these attacks started happening a few months ago,” my father replied with a heavy sigh.

“Is there anything else I should know about?” I asked, unable to hide the irritation in my tone.

“No,” my father replied a little too quickly. When I made eye contact with him, he was quick to look away. I knew there was more.

“I need to know, Father. I’m not a little kid anymore, and if you expect me to take over this pack, I should know everything,” I added, folding my arms across my chest. My father ran his fingers through his hair in frustration before his eyes met mine again.

“You’re not going to like this, Sophia, but Cole is Jill’s son. Making the rogue beta, Thomas, his uncle,” my father blurted out, and I was immediately flooded with so many emotions; disbelief, hurt, sadness, and the main one being anger. Why did they not tell me this sooner?

“You mean to tell me that his mother once tried to kill my mother, and you had her executed?” I asked in a low voice. I already knew the answer, but I needed them to say it.

“Yes.” My mother’s regret was evident in her eyes.

“We wanted him to have a fresh start and not pay for the crimes his parents committed. We commanded everyone who knew what had happened to keep it a secret, even his adoptive parents. We thought it was in his best interest.” My father let out a heavy sigh.

“Do you think his uncle, had anything to do with his disappearance?” I asked while glancing between the two of them.

“We don’t know, but it’s a possibility,” my mother replied.

“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me this sooner,” I said while shaking my head in disbelief.

“We didn’t want you to think any less of him. We know how close the two of you were. He was innocent in everything that happened and didn’t deserve to be tainted with his mother’s crimes,” my father explained.

“I would never have judged him for something he didn’t do. Do you think that little of me?”

“No, we know you wouldn’t have treated him any differently. We made a decision that we thought was best for everyone. I’m starting to wonder if we made a mistake.” My mother cast a glance over at my father.

“I’m sorry, Sophia. We should have told you,” my father said.

“When do I leave for the High Mountain Pack?” I asked in a harsh tone, intentionally changing the subject. I was feeling overwhelmed with all this new information and needed time to sort out my thoughts.

“Tomorrow.” Defeat laced my father’s tone.

“OK, if there’s nothing else, I would like to go and start packing.” My voice came out completely emotionless.

“Sophia, don’t be mad at us,” my mother pleaded with a sad look in her eyes.

“I’m not mad; I’m just disappointed. I’m supposed to be the next alpha of this pack yet you still treat me like a kid.” I glanced between the two of them and I could see the regret in their eyes.

Before they had a chance to say anything further, I stood up from my chair and left the office. I needed time for myself to process everything. I meant it when I said I wasn’t mad at them, but I was extremely disappointed that they kept all this from me.

Sophia I spent the night packing, and when it came time to sleep, I mostly tossed and turned, pondering all the new information my parents had given me. It still bothered me that they didn’t tell me sooner about Cole, but I also understood why they kept the information from me. Even though I would never have treated him differently, they were trying to keep him innocent of his mother’s crimes. I couldn’t help but wonder if what they told me had anything to do with his disappearance. Did his uncle, that Thomas guy, take him from us? That alone disturbed me. His uncle didn’t sound like a good guy. What would he want with Cole? Would he hurt him? Emma and Conrad had helped me pack since we had made plans to hang out. They knew something was bugging me, but luckily dropped the subject when I told them I didn’t want to talk about it. Rider When Sophia and her warriors arrived, I was speechless. I couldn’t believe how much she had changed since I last saw her. She used to have a boyish body with a flat chest and no ass, but now… all I could say was, wow. She had really filled out in all the right places. She was around five-foot-seven with an hourglass figure and legs for days. Her cleavage was on full display in that tight little black tank top, and it had my cock twitch to life. Even in her comfy clothes, she looked sexy as hell. My wolf was growling at the sight of her, demanding I bury my face between her perky tits. I had to settle him down; he was getting all worked up over her. I almost forgot how much of a brat she could be until our eyes met and she glared at me with those mesmerizing sea-blue eyes. Thank Goddess, I pulled myself together before she caught me checking her out. She, on the other hand, wasn’t fast enough. I didn’t miss her eyes shamelessly roaming over my body. It seemed the devil he

Rider I stayed in my office for most of the day. I figured if I avoided Sophia, maybe this stupid fascination I seemed to have developed for her would go away. I had just gotten off the phone with one of the neighboring alphas when there was a knock at the door. “Come in,” I announced before the door opened. I let out a relieved sigh when I realized it was just my soon-to-be gamma, Matty. He must have just gotten back from The Dark Shadow Pack. I sent him there yesterday to get more details about the attack on their territory. “What’s up with you?” He asked curiously as he took a seat across from my desk. He was always good at reading my mood. “Nothing, just on edge because of these attacks,” I replied, but I knew he could read right through my lie. After all, He was my best friend and could always tell when something was bothering me. “Hmmm... OK. Now that we have that lie out of the way, why so tense? I mean, you’re always tense, but today you seem extra edgy.” H

Rider I tossed and turned most of the night and when I glanced at my alarm clock, I saw it was five in the morning. I knew I wouldn’t fall back asleep, so I got up and decided I would workout before meeting with the others. I threw on some gym shorts but didn’t bother with a shirt. I left my room and made my way out of the packhouse. It’s pretty quiet at this time of the morning. Warrior training didn’t start till six, so the only people out and about were the warriors on night patrol and the omegas working in the kitchen. The rest of the pack members were all still asleep. I was jogging through the forest when I heard laughing coming from the training grounds. My eyebrows furrowed together as I wondered who else was up this early. My curiosity got the better of me, and I made my way over to see who it was. In the middle of the field, I saw Sophia, Emma, Conrad, Rory, and Matty standing in a circle joking with each other. Even though there were five of them, my eye

  • Alpha VS Alpha   Feeling Confused

Sophia At first, I was frustrated when I started sparring with Rider. He was so cocky and arrogant; I knew he intentionally tried to push my buttons. He kept demanding I surrender, but that would never happen. It surprised me how strong he’d become since the last time I fought him and he was definitely giving me a run for my money. Given my royal bloodline, few people could beat me, but a couple of times throughout our fight, I thought he might. After a while of us sparring and going back and forth with who had the upper hand, I found myself enjoying the challenge. My frustration faded and was replaced with excitement. I always loved a good fight. From the look on Rider’s face, he also seemed to enjoy himself. At one point, he was lying on top of me, trying to pin me to the ground. I had my legs wrapped around his waist and my arms locked around his neck, holding him tightly against my body. I felt something hard poke at my core and quickly realized he was turned on. His

Sophia I kept running, following the smell of blood that was getting stronger and stronger the closer I got. I hadn’t heard any more screaming, which was alarming. Was I too late? Conrad tried mind-linking me again, but I ignored him. He told me that Rider had ordered me to wait for backup, but there was no time. Someone needed help. I could feel it in my gut. Plus, that asshole isn’t my alpha. I don’t follow his orders. I had been running for fifteen minutes when, suddenly; I heard snarling, followed by a faint whimper. That sound made my paws move faster. I knew someone was in trouble. As I got closer, several scents assaulted my nose: blood, rogues, and was that the aroma of vampires? I started second-guessing myself. Was this a trap? Maybe I should have waited for backup. It was too late to turn back now. I reached a small clearing, and that was when I spotted him, a large gray wolf with matted fur coated in blood, towering over something on the ground. I knew immedi

Sophia My mouth opened and closed several times as I tried to formulate a reply. What was wrong with me? I was never lost for words, so why was I struggling to speak? Was it perhaps because Rider stood only a few feet away from me, completely naked and furious? I knew it wasn’t the best time to ogle him, but I was struggling to keep my eyes above his waist. I noticed his eyes trailing down my body as he took in my disheveled state. He paused for a few minutes on my leg, the one the feral wolf had bitten. The wound had healed, but there was still a lot of dried blood on my skin. Rider’s eyes softened slightly, and there was concern swirling inside his dark orbs. “What happened, Sophia?” he gritted out as he took slow predatorial steps toward me. “I just came across a feral wolf, no big deal. I took care of him.” I tried to sound calm when I was anything but. The closer he got, the faster my heart was beating in my chest. “Why didn’t you wait for backup, Sophia?” He

Rider I spent hours in my office after everyone left. My wolf and I had been on edge ever since hearing Sophia’s report. What did the rogues want with her? Was she their primary target, or were they after more? The thought of anyone taking or hurting her wasn’t sitting well with me. My protective instincts were kicking in, and once again, I found myself wondering why? Why did I care so much about Sophia? I was also confused by my sudden attraction to her. My wolf had been in control when I stumbled upon her in the forest, but even when I took back control, I still couldn’t stop myself from touching her. If the others hadn’t arrived when they did, goddess knows what would have happened between Sophia and me. The worst part, I felt disappointed that we were interrupted. • Alpha VS Alpha   Epilogue

Sophia Fifteen Years Later The first five years as king and queen were challenging. Rider and I spent most of that time figuring out our new roles while everyone else adjusted to our leadership. No one outright challenged us, but we were forced to use our aura to bring people to their knees occasionally. I didn’t like doing it, but it was a necessary display of dominance to gain full compliance, and it worked. Since then, things have been much more manageable. We’ve earned respect and loyalty from our people by keeping the peace in our kingdom and bringing the packs closer together. We’ve even formed a close alliance with the vampires thanks to my cousin Jonah and his queen, Dawn. Now, if ever there was a threat against our kingdom, we had all the support we would need. Rider and I still had our battles, but they were fewer and farther between since we’d learned to communicate better. The Moon Goddess was right. I would have never succeeded in this role if it were

Sophia The week flew by in a flash. It felt like just yesterday when Rider and I marked each other, and here we were, getting ready for our crowning ceremony. We traveled to the royal palace for the first time since discovering that it would be our new home. The council had been busy renovating it over the past week in preparation for our arrival. They said it wouldn’t be completely ready yet, but it would be livable while they finished the last few details. The palace was jaw-droppingly beautiful, straight out of a fairytale. The building was at least triple the size of my old packhouse, and you could tell money was not an issue when it was built. Everything looked expensive and hand-crafted. The building had a Venetian feel, with rounded stone window frames and entryways. The floors were expensive marble, and the ceiling had intricate carvings in the stone. The entire place looked like a work of art. When I first stepped foot inside, I felt like an imposter that didn’t belong

Sophia I should have gone straight to find Rider after I left my parents, and that was where I was heading until I remembered our earlier conversation. Rider had said, “If you’re not back in here within the hour, I’m hunting you down.” A mischievous smile tugged at my lips. When did I ever listen to commands? OK, maybe when he brought me to the edge of an intense orgasm, I might be a little more compliant, but right now, I wanted to make him work for it a little. So instead of heading for our room, I headed to Emma’s. I hadn’t had a chance to hang out with her much since Rider arrived, so I was actually looking forward to catching up with her while Rider lost his marbles searching for me. Hell, we went seven months without sex. What would a few hours hurt? When I reached Emma’s door, I knocked. I heard a bunch of commotion inside the room before the door finally opened a crack, and Emma stuck her head out. My eyebrows shot up when I took in her disheveled state. Her hai

  • Alpha VS Alpha   Moon Goddess

Sophia Dream I was sitting at the edge of the dock with my feet dangling in the water, wearing my sleeping shorts and white tank top. How did I get here? The water was cold, but there was a warm breeze, and the sun shone above me. This was the same lake Rider and I camped at, but I was alone. I was drawn from my thoughts when a presence behind me caused the hairs at the back of my neck to stand up. I glanced over my shoulder only to be blinded by a bright light. My hands lifted, shielding my eyes while they adjusted to the brightness. The light faded, and I gasped in surprise at the woman who appeared and started walking toward me. She was breathtaking, with long silver hair, bright blue eyes, and the smoothest skin I had ever seen. She looked no older than thirty and wore a long, silky white dress. The woman smiled at me, stepping onto the dock. “May I sit with you, Sophia?” she asked, her voice serene. How did she know my name? A glowing light surrounded her, b

  • Alpha VS Alpha   Meant To Be Queen

Sophia After the initial shock wore off from finding the crowns above our marks, Rider proceeded to fuck me three more times throughout the night. The guy was an insatiable beast, and I loved every minute of it. He was currently fast asleep next to me while I lay wide awake. My mind was a jumbled mess, thinking about the mark on my neck and what that meant. I remembered my conversations with Darius and Dawn, but at the time, I thought they were nuts when they claimed I was a true queen. I needed to speak with my parents and see if they could shed some light on everything. I gently lifted Rider’s arm around my waist before wiggling out from his grasp and climbing out of bed. It was six-thirty a.m. on Saturday, so there was no warrior training today, but I knew my parents would be up anyway. They liked getting up before the pack and having a quiet breakfast together. I tiptoed into the walk-in closet and slipped on black leggings and an oversized blue off-the-should

  • Alpha VS Alpha   Dinner Date

Sophia When the kitchen staff brought out our dinner, I nearly died laughing. The chef had made Al pastor pork tacos for me with fresh pineapple salsa and a drizzle of chipotle crema. And for Rider, he made chicken Alfredo. When I looked at Rider with a brow raised and an amused smile on my face, he simply shrugged like it was all just a fluke. The kitchen staff also brought out a bottle of prosecco and two flutes before leaving us alone in the small dining room. The room was usually only used when we had important visitors and wanted a quiet, more intimate evening. It was small, with a ten-person rectangular wooden table in the middle surrounded by dark grey upholstered chairs. Rider was sitting on the end of the table with me by his side. “Mmmm… these are so good,” I moaned, taking a bite from one of my tacos. “Not as good as this creamy, garlicky goodness,” he argued, spinning a decent amount of the fettuccini onto his fork before shoving it into his mouth.

  • Alpha VS Alpha   Back To Reality

Sophia What a week. It all started with our camping trip, but it only got better from there. Rider and I have spent almost every minute together. My father wasn’t lying when he said he cleared my schedule. Whenever I tried to get a little work done, I was scolded and sent on my way. I couldn’t be mad, though, because I had the best time of my life. I didn’t even recognize Rider anymore. Instead of the uptight, domineering man I grew up knowing, he seemed stress-free and even playful. His need for control was still present, but I didn’t mind that. I even enjoyed it at times. He’d slept in my bed every night, but as he promised on our camping trip, other than a few passionate kisses, he hadn’t gone further. We just cuddled and tortured ourselves with the sexual tension building between us. Rider hadn’t pressured me at all about us, and I was appreciative of that. I liked this new version of him, but was this just because we were on some stress-free vacation? Now that I had a

  • Alpha VS Alpha   Date Part Two

Sophia We arrived at the lake on the western edge of my territory just before eleven. I knew where Rider was taking me the minute we left the packhouse and started walking west. It was where Conrad, Emma, and I always used to go camping when we were younger, and even Rory joined us a few times when he visited. Rider got to work on setting up the tent while I got the rest of our camp set up. There wasn’t much to do, but I cleared an area for a campfire and unloaded our backpacks. Once done, I glanced at Rider, who was cursing like a trucker, struggling with the tent. “Hey, you need some help?” I offered. “Nah, I think I got it now. Why don’t you hop in the lake, and I’ll join you in a few minutes,” Rider replied with a smile, but I could see right through it. He was getting frustrated with the tent and, by the looks of things, had not made any real progress. I held back a chuckle as I watched the stubborn man trying to figure out how to set it up. It looked like he woul

Rider I couldn’t be happier after seeing Sophia again. I thought I had lost her forever after the rejection, but it looked like I might get a second chance to prove myself to her. I didn’t take that lightly and was ready to do whatever it took to win her back. I fucking loved the woman and couldn’t wait to show her just how much. The minute Sophia had left me on the field, I practically ran back to the packhouse, searching for Maribel. I wanted to save time and figured she would be the fastest way to get to Sophia’s territory. Maribel, the little witch that she was, made me grovel for her help. She wouldn’t open a portal until I told her she was the best sister-in-law in the whole wide world and the most powerful witch I had ever met. The woman was almost as infuriating as my brother and mischievous as fuck. I knew I had a few hours before Sophia returned to her packhouse, so I took that time to find her parents and talk to them.
