Chapter 7

EDEN.

A yawn drew my lips apart. My eyes slowly opened and the first thing I saw was a white ceiling. “I was in the woods—” I closed my eyes again, then opened it after a few seconds. “How did I get here?” I sprang up from the bed.

I clutched my chest with both hands, my jaw gaping. “Someone brought me here….” I began examining my body and there was no wound on my skin again. Even my broken lips were healed. “My wolf isn't this active. Who must have healed me?”

The sound of the door made me turn to the door, causing me to reflect on something. Before I passed out, I was sure to have seen a masculine figure, but I didn't get to know who that was. Was he the one who brought me here? I didn't develop wings suddenly, right?

A nurse walked in and halted her steps along the way. She seemed unable to contain her excitement that she dropped the tray of medications she was holding and hurried to me.

“How… how….” I couldn't find the words to say any longer. She held my hands, taking a good look at my body. “Why are you so….”

“It worked. You were so wounded that we all thought you wouldn't survive, but he shared his wolf energy with you and you healed so quickly.” she gestured, grinning.

He!? Again!? Who is this that I can never meet and doesn't want me to meet him? That lady in the bush mentioned the one sponsoring me as a masculine, and here is the nurse too saying so. No one would go after me if not the one sponsoring me because he would be worried that I didn't show up in school today.

I tapped the nurse. “I'm very fine now. I can recall that I was deeply wounded. But…..”

Her face twisted like she knew what I was about to ask her.

“Who is my rescuer? I have to thank him in person….”

She stepped backward and took the tray again. The laughter on her face vanished instantly. I did ask a difficult question right now.

“If you can't answer me, then there's no problem….but, extend my thanks to him,” I added and got seated on the bed.

She approached me and got seated on the small-sized stool beside the bed. “I'm sorry, but the young man insisted that he’d be kept anonymous, so I can't go against the management's order.”

I nodded. “It's okay. I understand,” I responded and looked away. “I wonder why she isn't making fun of me like the others. Isn't she seeing my size and how ugly I look?”

I glanced at her and she was still staring at me. She must want to tease me, but seeing the man who brought me here would make it difficult to do that.

“You eat a lot. The doctor found out, and that's why you became too weak although your wolf was weak too." She broke the silence between us. “I have a cousin brother who eats a lot too, but after I tutored him and he reduced the amount of food he takes, he looks better now.”

Was she advising me? No one has ever done that before.

“If you lose some weight, then you can do some training for self-defense purposes,” she added, and that caught my attention so fast.

I turned to her. “I can do some training indeed?”

She nodded. “I know some places where you will do some training.”

“But I don't have money.” I snapped and frowned. “I can't even stop eating since I have loads of work to do all day. I feel like eating enough will replace the worn-out tissues in my body.”

She chuckled and clapped her hands. Was it funny to her? I can't tell the last time I talked to someone like this.

“That's a lie! It would be better if you minimize eating heavy meals instead. Take lots of water and fruits.” she patted my shoulders. “You also have too much fat in you, but minimizing how you eat will quit producing more fats and the ones in you will gradually subside.”

I nodded. Since I have lots of fat in me, then I need to go for surgery and get it out before anything I do will take effect on me. Even if I exercise or train, it won't burn down the fats completely.

“Thank you! When I start working after graduating from college, I will save up and get the fats out.” with a smile, she nodded to me and stood. “You aren't administering anything?”

She shook her head. “No need! You look fine and only need an immune booster which I will get and administer to you soon.”

I waved at her and she left the ward. Now I can tell that I don't look that bad to be avoided like others do. They only hate me because my sister does.

After a few minutes of sitting and resting, I laid back on the bed, pondering over who this rescuer was that I couldn't get to know.

“It's a shame to you Tyrion. There's someone secretly protecting me.” I grinned and folded my arms while my legs crossed to the other. “It would be better if you tell your girlfriend to quit pestering me, or better still, explain to her what you caused me.”

At that moment, my chest became so heavy.

Not even my sister searched for me. The day is almost over and I'm all alone in this hospital.

It's good that I healed quickly—thanks to the anonymous man, so I can resume school tomorrow or the next.

After I graduate from school and start working, I will make sure to pay them back in spades—all that made me pass through hell because of my size. I will become a classic lady and the Alpha King will have no choice but to promote me back to the Beta that I am.

I will spend a lot to get the fats out of my money and live a better version of myself.

With my lips pouted, I considered all that a vision that I must accomplish no matter what. I will reveal to the whole Pack the cause of my father's death and see to it that Tyrion is punished for deceiving me.

“That jerk! I just regret loving you at that time." I despised every bit of him.

To think of it, why did I inhale the scent of this anonymous man who showed up in the woods? He isn't my mate but I did inhale it.

I sat up again, face grimacing. “This shouldn't be true. Is he helping me, knowing that I'm his mate and is ashamed to reveal that?” my pupils dilated. “I wasn't imagining. I inhaled his scent.”

Folding my legs together, I bent my head low. “The guy at the resort. He left before I woke up, maybe ashamed to claim me and make it public, but is secretly protecting me." I heaved a big sigh of relief. “I will find you, and thank you for everything even if you reject me.”

I scratched my head, my palm trailed down to my neck only for me to feel something weird there.

I rubbed my fingertip on the scar I could feel. “What is this?” my brows furrowed as I climbed down from the bed and hurried into the restroom. I stood before the mirror, taking a good look at my neck.

“A wolf bite?” my lips dropped open. “This is a mating bite….”
