Chapter 2

EDEN.

“It's already been six years since I slept on the bed. I wonder where this soft bed came from.” I yawned, stretching my limbs. My eyelids were heavy, but I slowly opened them to face the ceiling. “This isn't my room. Kiah won't let me sleep in a spacious room like this.” I thought, rolling my eyes.

Since my parents passed away, I began staying in a hut–like a room away from the main building. I sleep on a mat, and I come into the main building to serve her. Her leftovers after feeding are my meals, but one thing she doesn't know is that I prepare the meal in a big quantity and then hide the remaining after serving her.

I would say that it's the reason I became overweight is because I ate with greediness due to the fact Kiah wants me to starve. I fed secretly in a way that if feeding was the only benefit I would get from my family….then so be it. I accepted that I was an orphan because our parents were searching for me…but I didn't plot the accident, and the main culprit here should be Tyrion who deceived me.

Still, on the bed, the scene that occurred last night on the Alpha Prince's birthday came hitting my head. “He rejected me and I smelled my second chance mate—'' I forced myself to sit up, glancing around to see that I was alone and completely naked too. “What happened last night? Where did he go? Wasn't he my mate?”

I wanted to scream for misbehaving while drunk but I covered my ears. Why would I make such a mistake? That dude was here last night—I am so sure, but I didn't get to see his face so well because I was drunk. Where did he leave me? Didn't he find out as well that I'm his mate?

That shouldn't be a problem. I feel like trash, being disvirgined by a stranger that I can't even recall or meet ever again. I wonder what was wrong with my wolf that she dictated him as my mate, or I wouldn't be here.

Now he left without saying goodbye. He only f*cked me and then got away because he couldn't also have me as his mate right?

“I would have just died with my parents than being alive to pass through all this mess.'' I shook my head pitifully.

Climbing down from the bed, I took my clothes and had them on. The polytene that I came in with last night was placed on the chair, so I grabbed it and walked out of the room. “This is a resort. I was sitting in the presence of a resort where I smelled him." I heaved a big sigh, hastening my steps to get back home.

Kiah would skin me alive for not being around and to prepare her meals and tidy up the house. She has been so rude and I'm used to it already.

I hurried back home and changed into casual wear, then hurried into the main building to find my sister and her friends drinking in the sitting room. I hastened my steps to walk past them, but her voice made me halt. “Were you intending to pass just like that after wasting my time? I wonder where you slept last night….”

She walked closer to me, having a glass of wine in her palm. “You almost disrupted my plans last night. A bulldozer like you. Why did you even attend the party when your fellow omegas were busy in the palace organizing things..?” She lifted the glass above my head, and I could see red liquid running down my body. “I am now the future Luna of the Pack, so I will finally deal with you to my taste.”

Laughter echoed in the room. Her friends were making fun of me as usual.

“Now, go in there and prepare something to eat, but clean up this mess first.” she dropped the glass on the floor and it shattered.

I bit my lower lips and swallowed hard. My fist clenched to my cloth.

“Come back here!!!” she screeched after I turned to leave. “What do you have to do?” she asked, her brows arched.

“Bow to the future Luna. Prince Geralt will be here soon to pick her up, and it would be nice if he doesn't see this place as a mess.” one of her friends added, sending cold glares at me.

I swirled my neck backward to look at Kiah. Being bullied is enough to get from my sister. “Until you become Luna, then I will bow to you….” I retorted and hurried out.

“Eden!! You bitch!!!” she screamed, but I didn't even take a glance backward at her.

I entered the kitchen and began my daily routine as usual. When I was done cleaning up the kitchen, I prepared breakfast and served them, then began cleaning up the necessary rooms. I was almost done when a car horn reverberated in the room. My sister was almost ready and her friends were waiting.

The door flung open and the Alpha Prince walked in with Tyrion. Why was he here with the Prince? Was he his right-hand man? Our gaze met and I hissed. Despite my sister bullying me, my hatred for her isn't as deep as the one I had for Tyrion.

He left a scar on my heart and I won't ever forgive him for that. As for the Alpha Prince, I will make sure he regrets ever rejecting me publicly that way. He would have done that secretly, but it wouldn't stop him from choosing his mate as well.

I took the brush to leave when a palm pulled me backward. I turned around to see the Prince staring at my face. “You got more ugly today. What about working out? Even an Omega won't have a thing like you as a mate…”

I scoffed. “It's fine if I don't have a mate—” I snapped at him and hastened my steps.

When I got into the kitchen, I leaned on the wall, trying to get back my happy mood again. Even if I have the same shape as Kiah, it won't change the fact that I am a cursed demoted Beta, so it's of no use working out.

All I have to do is to find my second chance mate. He will have to reject me too if he doesn't want me as well so I can move on and stop having him in my mind.

I dragged the trash bag so I could dispose of it only to see Tyrion standing at the entrance. “This place isn't for visitors, and besides we shouldn't be seeing each other right…?”

He dipped his palm into his pocket and took slow steps towards me. “Didn't you hear it?”

“What?” my brows knitted.

He smiled. “You got a scholarship and would be in college together with me, the Prince, and your sister…”

The trash bag slipped off my palm. Was it true? Am I supposed to be happy? I'm very sure it wasn't the Alpha King or the Prince who would have said it aloud, then who did it? “In the same college as you?”

Tyrion nodded, his lips stretched into a slight smile.

“We shouldn't run into each other. I don't want to glance at you ever again. Just stay away from me, I must find out if this is true and who is behind it before believing you…'' I uttered, my mind clouded.

Kiah isn't aware, or she would have talked about it earlier. I wonder who it is that took such a risk to disobey the Alpha King's command.

When I entered the sitting room, the Prince and the others watched me. They must have heard Tyrion. “I don't think it's true. No one would go against the King's order…" I broke the silence in the room and hurried to leave the building with the trash bag.

“It would better be a prank because my father is searching for the source of the scholarship and would likely punish you if you enter into college.” Prince Geralt stated and the others agreed to him, except Tyrion.
