Skye“Mom!” Hunter exclaims happily and I whip my head to him so fast I almost get dizzy. Mom? “Shh, he just fell asleep.” I gasp when I recognize Luna Angel’s voice.“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to snap like that…” I immediately apologize, but Luna only waves me off before laying Adrian back in the crib.“Don’t worry about it. I would react the same way if some stranger had my baby in their arms.” She chuckles as we leave the room. Now that I know it’s Luna Angel with my kids, I don’t feel as nervous.“Yeah, about that, I barely recognized you! What’s going on with your hair? And… your scent?” Hunter questions, not even hiding the confusion from his voice.“Oh, right, I didn’t have time to warn you. I had to hide my identity before coming here. There’s a fight between two packs by the border and I had to go around it, but you know about Alpha Nolan’s fixation with Undeads… If he got a whiff that I’m around, I’d never make it here without hurting a few wolves. Thank goddess Violet ha
HunterSkye is playing with the babies on the couch, while I’m working at my desk. When the construction team came to repair the wall my mom broke when she fought against that Undead guy, I told them to adjust the office to fit a small playroom for the kids there. Brian was surprised, but I only waved it off, saying I want to be close to my babies as often as possible, since the earliest years are the most important for establishing a bond between them and me. Skye didn’t say anything, but glared at Brian for questioning me. I almost laughed at her angry scowl. She looks like an angry puppy when she’s mad.“I think Adrian’s hungry again.” Skye speaks out, pulling me from the papers in front of me. “He keeps nipping at my fingers.” I chuckle at the cute confused look on her face as she walks towards me. I’m already expecting Adrian to start crying the farther he gets from his sister, but he’s calm for once, only staring at me sleepily with his silver eyes. While Adrian inherited the si
SkyeRuby and I take the babies to sleep in the nursery, chuckling softly when Adrian immediately secures his sister in his embrace. Since Ruby agreed to babysit them whenever I need, I leave her with them and walk out, intending to find out what’s going on with those guests Adam mentioned. As soon as I walk out the front door, I’m met by an older couple, looking to be about their 50s or something. They stare at Hunter and Adam nervously, but I still catch the woman’s sneaky glances around the area. She seems to be inspecting the house and I don’t like it.I walk up behind my mate and stand at his side, grasping onto his hand and using him as my shield as I stand slightly behind him. I don’t like the feel I get from those two in front of us. There’s something off about them.“We’re asking for refuge, Alpha. There’s someone after us and they’ve been following us for hundreds of miles now. We barely managed to cross the border and come here. Please, help us!” The man pleads. I frown at
HunterI stare in the direction my mom’s gone, sighing quietly. I know exactly what’s going through her head and it breaks my heart.Kissing Skye’s and Stephanie’s heads, I give my little princess to Brian and go after my mother.“Mom.” I say when I enter the room. She’s already changed into some sweatpants and a t-shirt, just sitting on the bed quietly.“I failed you. – she croaks, her voice filled with emotion – I endangered my own child!” She clenches her fists, slumping on the bed with her elbows on her knees. She looks so broken.Slowly making my way to her, I sit by her side and pull her into my arms. She seems so small and vulnerable right now, not at all like the strong woman that raised me and my brothers.“Mom, it’s okay. You couldn’t have known. – I soothe – What’s important is that they’re gone now. They won’t hurt the babies.” I feel mom exhale a shaky breath at the mere mention of those people getting Adrian and Stephanie.“I should’ve found out about them earlier. I nev
SkyeIt’s been few months since the visit from Hunter’s grandparents and it’s been really peaceful during that time. There were no rogue attacks, no hostile Undeads and no troubles whatsoever.Apart from our little monsters not letting us sleep. They’re really fussy and they keep crying and screaming all the time. Adrian is hungrier that ever, needing to be fed Hunter’s blood around 20 times a day. He drinks about a gallon of blood daily and I’m scared that it’ll affect Hunter’s health. He always shrugs it off, but it’s still worrying me.Stephanie also changed a little. She hates being left alone. I have to keep her with me at all times, no matter what I’m doing or she yells her lungs out. Adrian still keeps cuddling with her when they sleep, but when my little princess is awake, she’s a total mommy’s girl. Or grandpa’s, cause she really likes to be in his arms.Dad’s been helping my mate a lot with the pack’s business, just like Luna Angel asked him to – he explained that after Luna
BeastUnbelievable. He did it. He actually did it!! It took him 5 years, but it’s done. I can’t stay here any longer now that it’s completed. He will destroy the little conscience I have left. I will finally become his unstoppable killing machine.NO! I WILL NOT!I WILL NOT BECOME HIS TOY!!!NOT NOW! NOT EVER!I look around my cage and check for the guards. Three... I can deal with it. From under my cot I take the little string I stole from one of the guests. Supposedly, it’s a piece of jewelry, but I can’t imagine what it’s used as. I have never had or seen any jewelry so I have basically no knowledge of it. HE never let me have anything that could be used as a weapon, forgetting that I was trained to be able to use ANYTHING as a weapon. Give me a string, I will strangle you with it, give me a shoe and I will make you choke on it, give me clothes, and I will find a way to use them to kill you. That’s what I was trained to do since I was 6. At least I think I was 6, maybe it started e
BeastI have been running through the woods for hours now. It’s getting dark and cold and my legs start hurting a little. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. I have had worse anyway.I haven’t eaten anything for the whole day; I’ve never learnt how to survive in the wild. I can kill, though. Maybe I can catch something, but how am I going to prepare it... I may not know a lot, but I do know that I can’t digest raw meat. So starving it is. I’d rather stay hungry than end up sick in the middle of the woods. As the sky gets darker I search the woods for a place to rest a little. In the distance I notice a huge tree, I don’t know what kind of tree it is, I was never taught that, but its branches look thick and sturdy enough for me to climb on it and rest a little. I head straight towards it, trying to avoid having my eyes gouged by some lower spiky branches in my way. Can’t end up blind, right?I don’t know if I can climb a tree, but it’s worth trying. Who knows what live
Beast I wake up with a start hearing a growling sound. I try to calm myself and let the memories slip away into the dreamland. I can’t believe I fell asleep. The growling sound gets louder and I get into attack mode, crouching on my branch. Looking down from it I see a group of 4 wolves circling the tree I’m sitting on, snarling and growling at me.They are huge. Isn’t that unnatural? Were wolves always that big? One of them is black with beautiful amber eyes. He’s looking straight into my eyes. The others are mostly brown with white patches over them, apart from the 5th one I haven't noticed earlier, standing still few yards away from others. He’s a white and grey wolf with dark patches over his ears and paws. Just like the black one, he’s watching me, but he’s looking at me with clear hostility in his eyes. Wait, what? Can wolves feel emotions? Hostility?I look back to the black wolf. He’s sitting on his rump now, simply looking at me with his head tilted, as if waiting for someth
