Leo
I’m making dinner for my little queen, with her watching me like a hawk while she drinks her hot chocolate. At first, she wanted to cook herself, but after some persuading, she let me do it. I want to spoil her, she’s gone through so much in her life.
We stayed in the clearing for a few hours, with my Angel on my shoulders, overseeing the training, giving comments and advice to the guys. My warriors listened to her every word, much to my surprise. Only Mason, who’s already healed, ignored her, which earned him a hard glare from me and warning growls. He’s on his way to be demoted real fast.
I was not the only one who didn’t like the way my Beta – soon-to-be warrior – treated my mate. Each Dead beat him up in a fight for that. Despite my previous aversion towards them, I actually like how loyal they are to my Angel.
“Leo?” I’m brought back from my thoughts by my mate’s voice.
BeastMidnight strikes.I feel my eyes water, before a strangled sob escapes my mouth.I keep crying for what feels like eternity. My heart is about to burst out of my chest. My whole body trembles as my hands clutch onto the closest thing I can reach.Leo’s fur.He whines lowly, nuzzling his nose in the crook of my neck.‘I’m so sorry my love, I’m so fucking sorry!’ He wails through the mind link, wrapping his front paws around me.“I want you back! Come back!!!” I scream at him. “This is not funny!”Suddenly someone barges through the door. My eyes widen in shock at the sight of Grey. He’s human!“What the hell?!” He exclaims, seeing Leo’s wolf.“Why are you human?” I ask through my tears.“The whole pack is. Leo is the only one who shifted. He called me here.” He sound
LeoThe next three weeks go this way: we wake up together, we eat together, then we go to the training area, where I watch my Angel train with the guys, and then we come back, eat dinner, shower and go to bed.Angel is extremely stressed out, and I think everyone can feel her agitation. During training, she pushes the guys hard, not giving them time to rest. But no one dares to complain. Mason did, once. It almost cost him his life, had it not been for Doc.Axe went back to the facility, per Angel’s request, but she didn’t tell me why she sent him there.Ever since she saw the picture of the witch, she’s been blocking me out completely, so I have no idea what’s going on. But I noticed the look on her face. She knows that woman. How? I have no idea. My best guess is that she met her at the facility, but when I asked, she just told me not to worry, which makes me worry even more. It’s deeply upset
BeastI stay completely glued to Leo/Demon all the time. Now that they’re back to being human, they can’t keep their hands off me. I’m not complaining, though, I absolutely love it.“What are you thinking about, Angel?” Leo asks after a while. We’re lying in bed, resting after the strenuous workout we just got. For some reason, we never manage to settle for one session so we always end up completely exhausted and I love every second of it. My head lies on his shoulder and I keep running my finger over his chest as he caresses my arm.“Nothing really, just how lucky I am.” I smile at him, giving him a quick peck.“You know, the pack is pushing me to get you to go through the ceremony.” I sigh. He’s told me about this. For the last weeks that’s all I’ve been hearing about from the pack. Even though Leo was a wolf, they’ve been talking about this nonstop. The ceremony is where I slash my palm and join hands with everyone from the pack
LeoThey’re here.Of all the possible times they could come, they choose the ceremony! Those motherfuckers!“Delta, get the Deads ready and contact others. Axe, how far are they?” My Angel takes charge immediately, while I mind link the females and pups to hide. We have hidden basements under every house that serve as hideouts, and the only people who can open them are the pack members.‘Don’t leave the hideout until I tell you it’s okay.’ I tell them before going to the dungeon with the Deads, my warriors, and my mate. I feel her hand tense in mine.‘My love, you should hide with the others. I don’t want you hurt.’ I try to reason with her, but all I get is a furious glare sent my way.‘Like I will let you handle them alone! Don’t even think about it!’ “Beast, they’re getting closer. The Dead patrol won’t be able to stop them.” Delta says, getting a message through the mind link.
BeastI quickly search the area for the boss, but I don’t see him. My whole body is covered in blood, my swords are dripping with the remains of it and the whole area around me is splattered with guts and body parts I severed, painting the ground red.I hear thundering footsteps storming my way, so, gripping my swords tightly, I turn around and slide under the Undead, slashing him open, then stab his heart to kill him. From the corner of my eye I notice a man approaching one of the wolves with a knife. I quickly retract a small throwing knife from the belt of my harness before throwing it at the man, aiming at his head. It hits him with perfect accuracy, killing him right away. Human.I throw almost all of my knives at the armed men, taking them out one by one. Since I’m to be captured alive, the guys concentrate on everyone else, probably thinking that if they reduce our numbers, it’ll be easier to get me.As if!I
LeoI watch my mate’s chest rise with every breath she takes, as she lies in our bed motionless. It’s been over a month since the battle. I almost lost my little angel. Why did I think she would shoot me? Hurt me? I honestly hope my Angel will forgive me for this, even though I will never forgive myself. This will haunt me for the rest of my life, knowing that I’m the reason she’s an Undead, something she didn’t want to be.I cradle my mate’s body in my arms, trying to stop the bleeding from her neck. “Get Doc!!!” I yell out in absolute agony. I know he’s somewhere around, helping the guys who got hurt. I feel as if my heart will burst out of my chest from the pain I’m feeling right now as my mate’s blood spills through my fingers, along with her life. She can’t die!!! I won’t let her die.I notice Shane rip the fucker who attacked Angel to shreds with his bare hands. He’s one of the few who wer
5 years laterBeastI watch the fight in front of me with a critical look. The person winning is not exactly fighting fair, but in the battlefield it doesn’t matter that much, so they have to know how to deal with their opponents in a situation like this.“Beast, how long will you make them do this? Claw looks exhausted.” Aiden laughs from beside me, as I sit in what they call ‘the throne’.“Until they get it right. They can’t keep relying on their learned techniques, the instinct is important too.” I answer him, not taking my eyes of Claw and Hammer in the ring. Hammer clearly has the upper hand, since he takes my every advice seriously.“You’re still so ruthless.” He laughs. “Axe said something about trouble at the border, what do you want to do about it?” He gets serious suddenly. I know exactly which border he's talking about. Leo's been trying to get to me all the time for the last
ShaneI’ve been watching my Alpha get consumed by depression and self-hate for 5 years. And I can see that he can’t take it anymore.Luna has to come back to him, heal him, bring him back. The whole pack is struggling without our Luna, and it’s been like that for years. I tried to at least talk to her, but the Deads on the border never let me in their territory. They claimed the No Man’s Land as theirs, establishing a pack of their own, with OUR Luna as their leader. It’s now the Undead Land, as people call it. Other packs have tried reaching out to them, too, but with no results. They have completely cut themselves off from everyone.Today is my last chance to change Luna’s mind. Leo is planning on taking another Luna for the pack, giving up on his mate. And the woman in question is not a Luna material. AT ALL. She’s materialistic, snobby, obnoxious and demanding. How the hell did she seduce our Alpha is a mystery, but I think she managed to do that because she made herself look like
