CHAPTER 74

TEDROS

I gazed at her, watching as her chest rose and fell, a clear sign that she was sleeping. She was out of danger, I tried to reassure myself. She was going to wake up soon, and there was nothing to worry about.

“You’re going to be fine,” I muttered softly.

But despite my words, a dull ache settled in my chest as I continued to stare at her in that state. I just wanted her to open her eyes and look at me, the way she always had.

Resting my head on the bed, I closed my eyes. It seemed like I was already getting attached to Ducky, and that was something I couldn’t control.

Two days passed after that. Ducky hadn’t woken up yet, and the doctor said it was because she had hit her head hard, and the pain was too severe. I, on the other hand, hadn’t left her side for a minute.

Since she had asked not to be left alone, I honored her wishes. If you’re wondering how I managed to shower, there was a bathroom in the ward, and I could keep an eye on her while I showered and dressed.
