Chapter 06

“You fucking slut! You are nothing but a dirty whore!”

I yelled as Genna delivered a kick to my stomach, the pain literally bringing me to my knees.

“Since you want to be a slut, I'll show you how to be a slut! Boys!!!” Genna yelled. The door opened and three men walked in, wearing nothing but a grin on their faces.

They looked familiar, and it took a moment for me to realise that they were also some of the slaves in the pack.

Fear gripped my chest as they walked closer to me, eyes burning as they took me in, stared at me like I was an enticing dish waiting to be devoured.

“No!” I whispered, “no! no no. Step mother please! I'm sorry, but please don't do this!”

“I'm going to teach you a lesson that you will not forget anytime soon! Take her!”

I screamed - all tried to scream but all I could release were just choked sounds thanks to my throat which was already sore from hours of crying and yelling. But I still tried to beg, to yell for help even though I knew that no one would care to help me, would care to come to my rescue.

My pleas, my tears did nothing to stop the three men as they grabbed me and carried me to the dinning.

“Do what you please with her. Ignore the tears, I'm sure she will enjoy being the whore that she is.”

When one strong palm gripped my already torn shirt, I swallowed tight and accepted that this was happening. No one would help me. Crying and trying to fight won't help.

I accepted that fact and closed my eyes, swallowing my sobs as the rest of my clothes were torn from me.

I tried to block away what was happening…to focus on nothing but the darkness I could see. I tried to not think about it, to not think about all I have had to endure, and I succeeded because, in no time, the only thing that occupied my mind was a void. A very dark empty void, nothing else.

I allowed myself to slip and fall into it…into nothingness - nothing else existed outside that and I didn't care.

/”You are more than this, Hayley.”/ A familiar voice whispered into my mind, cutting through the thick silence that had enveloped my mind.

/”Mum”/ I whimpered.

/”Dear child, you are way more than this. You need to learn to stand up and fight back. You need to learn how to stand on your own and not embrace any treatment thrown at you.”/

I choked on a sob.

/”You are more than this Hayley.”/

My head was pounding aggressively as I opened my eyes. I tensed when I looked around and saw that I was in that same room… Alpha Sky had brought me here.

For a moment my mind went back to the dream which wasn't totally a dream - a dream that was a flicker of memory and I shuddered, wincing again at the pain that filled my body.

I closed my eyes again, trying to forget the dream, or the unpleasant memories that came with it. I would not think about that. I would not remember, I do not want to remember.

If i do…goddess if i allow myself to think about some things the pain would be too much for my heart to bear and i was already in too much pain as at the moment.

“Mum…” I whispered, and a tear rolled down my cheek to the pillow.

If only she was alive. What would she think, seeing me like this? Seeing what I had grown up to be?

Mother had always taught me to be brave and to stand up for myself.

What would she think if she sees just how low I have stooped?

But it is better to be a coward and be alive than be brave and dead.

Genna…

My eyes flew open as realisation suddenly dawned on me.

Sky had saved me and… he had said that Genna was dead.

I should be ashamed of myself for how glad i was hearing that but i couldn't find it in myself to feel anything other than relief, and glad.

Genna was my nightmare and now she was gone- thanks to Sky.

He had vowed that anyone who dared to hurt me would be punished and he had kept to that promise.

If he hadn't been there, what would have been of me?

Yes I have endured worse from Genna several times - but the point was…someone came for me.

Alpha Sky came for me and rescued me. For the first time ever, someone cared enough to come…for me.

I winced again as I remembered all his words.

Like how he wants me to go with him to his pack.

That was also something I'd have to think about later, but not now.

I forced myself to get up from the bed, ignoring the pain that followed. I was grateful that no one was there to stop me as I made my way to the door, slowly opening it and then leaving the room.

But as I walked down the hallway, I heard footsteps following me which made me freeze for a second thinking it was Alpha Sky. But when I turned around utv was Hayden I saw, sneering at me.

A shiver ran down my spine as he closed the distance between us with two l9ng strides, grinning ear to ear.

“Hello there Hayley. For a moment there I thought you had been avoiding me.”

“What do you want, Hayden?”

He chuckled, ‘What is with the attitude. I was only checking up on you to see how you are doing. But seeing as you were just coming out of Alpha sky’s room…hmmm. I have to say, I am a little bit impressed you moved on so fast, with Alpha Sky of all p[.”

I clenched my jaw but said nothing.

“You have always been a pretty one so it isn't a wonder you caught his attention. But the thing is - I hope you know that once he is satisfied with what you have to give, he will only toss you aside.”

“What I do with my life has ceased being your business, Hayden.” I hissed angrily, “I would also advise you stop with the insults… because you have done your worst and you will never, ever get the opportunity to hurt me like you did. Now if you will excuse me.”

I turned to leave but he grabbed my hand holding me back, “Do not turn your back on me, Omega!”

I turned, and before I could think, my free hand flew up to his face in a loud slap.

Hayden yelled and when he released me I ran back to Sky’s room, my breath coming out heavily.

“Are you ready to leave, mate?”

I took a deep breath, and mat Alpha sky’s intent gaze. My affirming response was just a whisper and he grinned.

“Good.” His hand cupped my cheek and I shivered at the electrifying warmth of his touch.

“You are going to love your new home, Hayley. This I promise you.”

I didn't say anything, mostly because I did not want to have way too much hope.

So I just nodded and with a smile he grabbed my hand and led me out of the room.

My new home.

I bit back a smile. I had no idea what this would mean for me, what this new stage of my life would be, but one thing is for sure…i will take everything i see along the way with my head held high.
