Humiliated and banished

AVILA

I kept running through the woods without stopping to look back, the growling of my stomach echoed like the growls of grizzly bears, my shoes were busted and my feet were sore but I had to keep going if I wanted to reach lightwolf pack on time to carry out my mission.

I had been told to make the Alpha fall for me so he could find redemption, I didn’t know how that was going to work yet I just wanted to get there first, arriving was the only thing on my mind as I ran sluggishly through the trees and bushes.

After about two hours of running in a direction I didn’t know.

I exited the woods and found myself in a small town, a town which resembled a ghost town it was quiet with nobody walking through the roads.

I walked around and I searched but I didn’t find a person around for miles.

After another hour of walking, I came across a huge mansion, I felt like this was the right place because unlike the town, I heard voices coming from within.

Just as I intended going through the gate a voice came from behind me “hello, are you a traveller?

You’re not from around here are you?”

When I turned around I saw a woman, she looked around my age, she was very tall and beautiful, I didn’t sense any negativity coming from her.

“Um, yeah I’m a traveler and I’m not from around here”

“I am a wanderer, I have nowhere to go so wander from town to town, I only just stumbled upon this mansion”

“I’m Avila, it’s nice to meet you”

I reached out to shake her hand and she obliged.

“I’m Selina, it’s nice to meet you. Do you want to go in?”

“I do, I found nobody else in the town and I think the people here might be able to help me”

“Are you looking for someone”

“Rather not say”

“Oh that’s fine, we’re total strangers to each other”

She flashed me a cold smile and in that moment, I felt fear creeping up my spine.

I followed behind her as she went through the gate and walked straight to the door leading inside like she knew the place already.

As we stood at the door two men walked up to us from nowhere and they looked hostile.

“Are you members of this pack?”

Selina was asked by one of the men.

“Pack? We’re travelers passing through and we don’t know our way around here, we couldn’t find a single soul in the town”

“You’re imposters then?”

Before I could speak, the other man let out a howl, we were being perceived as imposters. I felt no fear though, I was being guided by the woman in my dream.

Shortly after, the door was pushed wide open and a man came out.

He was the most handsome person I had ever seen, he was tall, had broad shoulders, had a full head of dark hair that glittered brightly.

He was huge, I found myself staring at him in amazement.

I had a feeling that I knew who this was, without thinking twice, I knew this was the Alpha.

With firm thundering footsteps he walked towards us, his or her was the most intimidating thing I had ever felt in my life.

He stood there, glaring at Selina. I wasn’t noticed because I stood behind Selina, I wanted to avoid a confrontation but, I was on a mission and I didn’t want anything to jeopardize that.

I stepped out so he could see me.

Immediately his gaze shifted from Selina and was fixated on me, fear made my legs shiver.

As the cold sweat trailing down the side of my face almost hit the ground, he smiled and turned around, heading into the mansion once more.

“Did that just happen? Did I just witness a sight like this?”

“I am just as surprised as you are”

The men whispered as the Alpha went further into the mansion.

“What just happened? Are we in trouble? He’s going to kill us?” I enquired.

“It’s quite the opposite, girl. The Alpha kills almost every imposter he sees on sight. He smiled at you, this is something that we haven’t witnessed in a very long time”

“So what do we do?” Selina cut in.

“Follow him, that smile was a sign of approval, it’s basically an invite into the mansion”

The man whispered to Selina.

I was still lost in thought, thinking about his charm.

Without wasting anytime Selina boldly walked into the mansion, I started getting suspicious of her.

I followed behind, my eyes totally fixated on the handsome man walking in front of me, I was trying to understand why he smiled at me.

The Alpha took a turn at a corner and we followed him, for some reason, Selina no longer talked to me.

We followed the alpha to an empty room having only a table and two chairs.

He sat majestically and tapped his fingers on the table, maids came running in with saucers of coffee mugs.

Selina boldly walked up to the table and sat on the other chair, there weren’t any other chairs so I stood. For someone claiming to be a wandering, she was dressed in fabric that looked quite expensive.

The Alpha took a sip of his coffee and dropped his mug on the table, he cleared his throat

“So, what brings you women to my territory?”

Without hesitation, Selina gave an answer.

She told him she had no home, just as she had told me earlier.

He looked in my direction, he asked me no questions, although the conversation was with Selina, he stole glances at me who stood at the corner.

After a brief conversation with Selina, the Alpha decided to hold a feast for us.

The feast was held outdoors at night, men and women sat in a big circle, there was a kind of music being played around us, the moon glowed brightly.

A ritual of induction was being held, Selina and I were being inducted into the pack so suddenly.

I was happy with this because it meant my mission was making progress.

The Alpha who had been dancing alone while stealing glances at me, walked up to where I was sitting and took my hand.

I started to dance with him as he embraced me.

“What’s your name?”

He asked as we danced, he stared into my eyes like he was looking at my soul.

“A- Avila Sky”

“Avila, you’re beautiful. I’m enchanted by you”

He whispered in my ears as he embraced me tighter while dancing.

I was in shock, I couldn’t believe that the alpha found me attractive.

“Thank, thank you”

“I want you… to be my mate”

Before I could react, he kissed me.

It all happened so quickly “From today onwards, This is my new mate, she must not be disrespected!”

The people around howled in excitement.

Selina came into my sight as I danced with the Alpha.

She glared at me, if looks could kill I would have died from the way she looked at me.

I didn’t know what her problem was but I paid her no attention.

Days turned into weeks and weeks into months, the Alpha was becoming a changed man due to my influence, we were deeply in love with each other.

I hadn’t seen the woman in my dream for a while but since everything was going smoothly, I wasn’t bothered.

One morning, while I was sleeping, thundering footsteps approached my room, it had been a while since I heard him walk like this but I knew who it was.

It was my mate, Alpha sin.

It all happened so suddenly, I was accused of a betrayal I knew nothing about, I was humiliated and banished from the pack.

In front of everyone, Alpha sin introduced another woman as his mate, a face I hadn’t seen in a while… Selina Jules.

Immediately I saw her, I instantly understood what was going on.
