I slammed my fist onto the table, my eyes blazing with frustration. "Two years!" I spat, my voice venomous. "Two years and not a single sign of Lyra! What is wrong with all of you?"

My pack members cowered. "Alpha, we're trying our best," one of them says.

I laughed, a harsh, mocking sound. "Your best? Your best isn't good enough! Lyra is still out there, and god knows if she's in one shape!"

I hissed, my anger boiling over. "I can't sleep, I can't eat. All I can think about is finding her, and you're all failing me!"

I glared at them, my eyes burning with disappointment. "You're my pack. And you're all letting me down."

I slumped back in my chair, my head in my hands. I'm a mess, I whispered, my voice cracking underneath my breath.

I'm a mess, and it's all because of her.

I don't know when it happened or how but Lyra has taken a part of me that not even Veronica.
