A few more weeks passed.

It got to the point where Lucy was going into the Pack, because it was too dangerous for me. Rylan has guards posted where we usually go in, and the amount of Elite's scouring the forest has almost tripled.

I hate him for it. He knows it too, since I told him.

"You're getting paler by the day," Lucy told me one afternoon. She stands over me, the golden sun glistening in her dark hair.
