I pulled at my dress nervously.
All of my clothes were now picked out by Alpha Ronan, and I was not a fan of his style. My dress was weirdly sexy. It showed off my cleavage and was gold and sequined. I felt ridiculous.
Alpha Ronan on the other hand smiled when he saw me. “Now you look like my Luna.” Before I could prepare myself he had wrapped his arms around me and kissed me.
I shut my eyes tightly and pretended it was Ewan. Though Ewan would never kiss me so roughly or grab my ass in front of other people.
“You taste so sweet,” Alpha Ronan grinned. “Hope you’re just as sweet in other places.”
I wanted to vomit. The thought of doing anything in the bedroom with him disgusted me, but I knew I would have to at some point. I was going to be the wife to an Alpha who were known to have high sex drives. As Luna, I would have to satisfy that sex drive.
“Beta Grant, keep an eye on her while I attend a quick meeting, will you? Make sure she doesn’t jump out of the window.”
I couldn’t help but laugh. This actually made Alpha Ronan smile. Not in that creepy way when he got what he wanted, but in a genuine way. “I made you laugh.”
“That was actually a funny and clever comment.” I admitted.
He gently touched my face and kissed me. “I will try to make you laugh more.”
He strutted out of the room looking quite pleased with himself.
“That wasn’t funny,” Beta Grant commented.
“Maybe not to you. I imagine you have the humor of a plank of wood.”
“Your little stunt almost got me in serious trouble, I don’t find it funny. And if Ronan found out that you….”
“Oh, you didn’t tell him about the kiss?” I smirked. “What would he do? Kill you?”
“He’d kill us both. Your future husband is a very jealous man. If he thinks there’s anyone else-”
“The only men I care anything about are my father and my husband. Both of them are dead, thanks to your brother. Alpha Ronan doesn’t need to be jealous. I will never fall in love with another man. Him included.”
“Don’t tell him that,” Beta Grant declared. “He’s not used to being rejected, who knows what will happen when he is?”
“Do you think he’d kill me?” I asked almost eagerly.
“No! Stop with this whole death thing. You’re going to get yourself into trouble.”
“What do you care, you don’t even like me!”
“Yes, but I like being alive and if something happens to you, that might cease to happen so stop trying to ruin my life!” Beta Grant growled.
“I’m not trying to do anything except die! If you’re caught in the crossfire of that, oh well.” I shrugged.
“Of all the people The Moon Goddess could have chosen.” He shook his head as he angrily fell down onto the armchair.
“Of all the people to have as a brother-in-law,” I replied, sitting across from him and crossing my legs.
From where he was sitting he could get a pretty good luck up my dress if I didn’t do so. “That dress is nice.” He offered. “Leaves nothing up to the imagination.”
“You don’t need to be imagining my body. Anyways, this dress is tacky.” I said dismissively.
“On a less tacky woman it would look quite classy.”
“You know what Beta Grant you can kiss my a-”
“It’s time,” Alpha Ronan entered the room once more. “Are you ready to meet your pack?”
“Sure,” I forced a smile.
No, I really wasn’t.
--
I was shaking standing in front of everyone. It was easy to tell which people were originally part of The Eclipse Pride and which ones had been made a part of it after Alpha Ronan conquered their pack. Their eyes were dead and haunted.
It was almost fitting. I was going to be Luna to people who felt just the way that I did.
“Welcome to the new pack members of The Eclipse Pride!” Alpha Ronan grinned. “I know it is strange to be in a new place, but you will become accustomed to our way of living very soon! To solidify this new alliance, your Luna, Bowen and I will be wed in two days.”
Why was he acting like this was a pact we had made as opposed to him forcing me into this relationship? Why did he expect me and my people to be happy about what just happened?
“I will now let your Luna address you. Please welcome my future wife, Luna Bowen!” Alpha Ronan smiled as I stepped forward.
I took a breath. “Silver Streak Pack, um…I know we are in a difficult and confusing time. This is my first time addressing you as Luna and after the horrible events of last night-”
Alpha Ronan cleared his throat. He didn’t like me mentioning the massacre that occurred the night before.
“Um…today is a new day. We are in a new place, which means we have…new opportunities as a pack, right? And um, I-I’m sure The Eclipse Pride will protect us and welcome us with open arms. While we have lost a lot, we have not lost everything. We should continue to be the pack that Alpha Ewan…knew we could be. As he used to say ‘to be a pack is to be a family and to be a family is to take care of one another’. We should live by his wise words and love the way he would…”
I couldn’t help myself, I broke down in tears. I hated this. I hated addressing my pack and saying the things he used to say because he wasn’t here to say them. I hated this dress and this stupid packhouse and that I had to kiss the man who took basically everything from me.
“Um…the Luna is very emotional! Probably because of her excitement for our wedding. Tomorrow night is the rehearsal dinner.” Alpha Ronan announced. “We shall see you all then.”
He grabbed my arm and pulled me away with Beta Grant in tow. We went to our room where he threw me down in the chair.
“What is wrong with you Bowen?!” He demanded. “You just embarrassed me in front of everyone crying about that stupid man.”
“He’s my husband!” I sobbed.
“No, he’s dead! I’m going to be your husband! You need to get over this!”
“You can’t force me to love you hours after you murdered the love of my life! What don’t you get about that?”
“You’re my mate, Bowen! What don’t you get about that? You’re supposed to love me!” He shouted. “So just fucking do it already!”
I looked him right in the eyes. “No. I won’t.”
His eyes lit up with fury as he grabbed me by my hair and pulled me up. “Yes, you will. You are mine. Y-you’re my mate! The Moon Goddess chose you for me!”
“So why don’t I feel anything but hatred for you?”
He raised his hand, but Beta Grant stopped him before he could slap me. “Let’s calm down shall we? This is no way to start off a marriage right?”
Alpha Ronan took a deep breath. “Beta Grant is right. You should stop making me angry. This is supposed to be a happy time for both of us.”
“Yes, it should be.” I said stiffly.
“Beta Grant, escort my fiancee down the hall to the dressing room. She needs to pick her wedding dress.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
“I hope you will like one of the dresses I picked out, Bowen. If not, I can get more.” Alpha Ronan said softly.
“Thank you,” I whispered. I let him give me a kiss on the cheek before following Beta Grant out.
“You didn’t have to do that, you know? I can take a hit.” I grunted.
He whipped around to face me. “I didn’t do that for you Luna Bowen! I don’t like seeing girls get hit! My father does it to my mother and…that’s probably where Ronan got it from, but he’s not usually like this. You’re making him this way.”
“I’m not a fucking puppet, Beta Grant. I can’t just act the way he wants me to.”
“Then at least pretend! You’re not going to get anywhere acting like a spoiled brat. Just because you’re used to mommy and daddy giving you your way doesn’t mean it works like that here!” Beta Grant hissed.
“My mother died when I was three! My dad had to try to give me a better life on his own! I didn’t just get my way, I had to work for everything I’ve ever had! You think I just got Ewan because he was my mate? No, I had to get him to fall in love with me the proper way! So if Alpha Ronan wants me to fall in love with him, which I doubt I will, he’s gonna have to work for it!”
Beta Grant’s perfect jaw clenched. “Sorry about your mother.”
“Sorry about yours.” I whispered.
We kept walking down the hall. We entered a room that was filled with wedding dresses. I was surprised when Beta Grant sat down.
“Why are you staying?” I asked.
“Because it’s my job to babysit you. I also have impeccable taste in dresses, remember?”
--
I tried on dress after dress and still hadn’t picked one. They were all beautiful but none of them felt like the one. I wasn’t sure any of them would feel that way, considering I was marrying a man I didn’t love and I wasn’t excited for the wedding.
“Just pick one!” Beta Grant groaned. “You don’t even care about this wedding.”
“I still want to feel pretty,” I stated studying my reflection. The dress was pretty, but much too poofy and was too long.
“I’ll go get the second batch,” Saige said dully, slumping out of the room.
“I think that’s a nice one,” Beta Grant offered.
“I hate the material.” I commented.
“Do you want one similar to the one you wore last night?”
“Funny enough, I don’t want a dress that reminds me of when I was actually happy and that was so quickly taken away, but thanks.”
“You have a terrible attitude.”
“So we have something in common.”
Beta Grant stood up in frustration and stretched his arms up. I couldn’t help but notice the way his shirt rode up and showed off his V shaped muscles. Wow that’s a deep V. He must work out a lot.
He glanced over at me and I quickly looked away, out of the double window. I smiled slightly seeing that beautiful garden I had seen the night before. I walked towards the window to get a better look. My feet tripped over the insane amount of organza and I flew forward…right out of the window.
Had I lucked out by falling out of the window? Would I die when I hit the ground?I grunted as I landed on a flower bed. Nope. No death, just a lot of pain.Above me, I saw Beta Grant looking out of the window. “Luna Bowen, are you okay?!” He called.“No, I’m alive!” I yelled back.“Just stay there!”Well I had nowhere else to go.I saw some pack members staring at me strangely. I gave them a weak wave as Beta Grant came running towards me. He lifted me up, carryinging me bridal style. Fitting considering what I was wearing.“Why are you such a klutz?” He demanded as he quickly made his way back into the house. “You could have died! Which I’m sure is what you wanted.”“At least it wasn’t on purpose this time.” I laughed.“It’s not funny!”“What happened?” Alpha
“Shit!” I hissed slowly turning around. There was Beta Grant glaring at me with his arms crossed. “I knew you were up to something. What the hell do you think you’re doing?”“Trying to escape and not kill myself. That’s growth, right?”“I thought you said you had a good talk with my mom,”“I did! This is what she suggested I do! You think I came up with this by myself? She wants me to escape. She doesn’t want me to have the life she does.”Beta Grant gulped. “She said that?”“Not in so many words,
I slowly walked out of the bathroom.Alpha Ronan’s eyes lit up upon seeing me. He was wearing nothing but briefs. His abs looked incredible and his bulge was prominent. I might be in for a wild ride tonight. He held out his hand to me and I took it, letting him pull me to him. He kissed me powerfully, wrapping his arms around me.While I wasn’t a virgin, I still wasn’t sure how to do this with anyone other than Ewan. I wasn’t sure where to put my hands and if Alpha Ronan even wanted to be touched. This was too nerve wracking.Alpha Ronan gently grabbed my hands and put them against his torso. His abs were immaculate. They were perfect and hard. He guided my hand even lower into his briefs, making me grab him.
I didn’t even get to pack my suitcase.Ronan insisted he had a better idea about what I should wear for our week-long honeymoon. I worried there wouldn’t be much in the way of clothing.“Be downstairs in five minutes, Bowen!” Ronan called. “We’re running late.”“Okay darling!” I responded.“And make sure your hair is down, I like it better that way!”“Yes my love!”I grumbled as I yanked the scrunchie out of my hair and watched as my curls tumbled down. Ewan liked my hair down better too, but he would have never told me how to wear it.
“What are you doing here?!” I screamed, scrambling for my towel.“This is my room!” He shot back.“But why would you come here, knowing I was showering?”“I thought you were done, the water wasn’t on when I came in! I didn’t know you would try to seduce me.”“Oh don’t flatter yourself, I thought it was Ronan. I was going to make him…happier.”Beta Grant laughed. “Oh you learn quickly, don’t you? You’re going to use sex to keep his temper at bay. Not a bad idea. He always was a more physical person.”“Whatever, can you get out so I can put clothes on?” I question
I groaned as I opened my eyes and lifted my head.I was in a mostly empty room that was lit dimly. I tried to move my arms and legs but they were tied to a chair.“Help!” I yelled. “Someone help me!”“Ah, she’s awake,” Reed’s voice came from behind me.He and another large man now stood in front of me. “Wow you really did want to tie me up,” I shook my head.“What can I say? I’m a straightforward guy.” Reed chuckled.“Do you know who my husband is?”“Alpha Ronan. We’re more than aware.” The other guy
“Ronan!” I cried. “Help me!”Ronan changed forms quickly. His silver wolf looked furious and ready to kill, but didn’t make a move. I realized he was waiting for Reed and Dirk to change forms too. His confidence was insanely attractive. The moment Reed and Dirk turned into their white and brown wolves, Ronan attacked. The sound of yelps and barks echoed through the room as Beta Grant entered the room and ran over to me.“Shit! Luna Bowen, are you okay?” He gently pulled me up. He actually looked concerned for me.“They wanted information that I didn’t have,” I gulped.“It’s okay, you’re okay now.” He brought me to his h
I had been married to Ronan for three months.I had to admit I didn’t hate it that much. When we came back from our honeymoon, we were totally infatuated with each other. I was more than ready to be his Luna and support him.The best part about all of this was that I hadn’t made Ronan mad once since coming back. Things were kind of perfect.Except for Beta Grant of course.I swear he was even meaner to me now than when I first met him. He was rude and blunt and didn’t treat me like a sister or a Luna. He’s the worst.“Morning, beautiful,” Ronan came up behind me and kissed my cheek as I was doing my hair one morning.
“Hello, Scarlet Manes and Eclipse Pride,” I started. It was two days later. I had pretended to mourn and cry like a Luna was supposed to and now it was time to address them all.“It is with a heavy heart that I announce that both Alpha Conrad and my husband Alpha Ronan are dead. An unfortunate misunderstanding led them to a vicious fight in which they both died from the wounds they sustained from one another. Luna Alice and I are both in mourning, but we wanted to address you to let you know things will be okay.”“The alliance will still stand,” Alice announced. “We will have a new Alpha: Tara. She has served under Alpha Conrad for many years and knows this pack better than anyone else. She will continue to take care of us.”“And for the Eclipse Pride, Beta Grant will take over the duties of Alpha and I will still be Luna. We have many ideas on how to make our packs even better and we will work alongside Alpha Tara and Luna Alice while we do that.” I declared.“I promise to take good
“Grant!” Tara shouted, pulling the cover up.. “Darling, this-this isn’t what it looks like, I swear! I just…”“Tara…please,” Grant whispered. “I actually don’t care.”“You don’t?”“Not even a little bit.”“Is this who you’re in love with, Alice?” I questioned. “Yes,” She squeaked. “I thought you said it was over.”“It was but…I couldn’t stay away. I mean she was always so close and beautiful. A-and Conrad clearly doesn’t want me anymore and Grant wasn’t being attentive enough.”“Sorry about that,” Grant muttered to Tara.“You were never going to love me were you?” She asked. “No…I’m in love with someone else.”“Bowen. I tried to ignore it, but it was kind of in my face all the time. Of course how could I judge? I’m in love with my brother’s wife too.”“Speaking of Conrad,” I started. “He’s going to kill you Alice.”“What? Why? Did he find out about me and Tara?” She asked hysterically.“No, he says you’re useless to him now since you’re not interested in him. He also wants to kill
Sometimes I felt like a single parent.Ronan paid Clio no attention and barely acknowledged her. Everyone else adored her. She was a beautiful and happy baby. She had just started smiling and it was the highlight of my life. “Hi pretty girl,” I cooed. “Aren’t you tired? You kept Mommy up all night, you must be tired!”Ronan never got up in the middle of the night to hold or comfort Clio. He always made me do it and claimed he was busy the next day and needed his rest. He couldn’t be busy every day.“Yes you did keep Mommy up all night with all your crying,” I rubbed my nose against hers. “But you’re so cute that I don’t even care.”“Hey,” Grant entered the nursery. “Did you get any sleep last night?”I shook my head. “I’ve gotten like eight hours all week. Ronan doesn’t help with anything.” “He’s a fucking loser like I thought he would be. He's useless!”“He’s just busy,” I muttered, setting Clio in her crib. She looked up at the crystal mobile with fascination. Ronan almost didn’t
“What?” Ronan roared. “No! I’m supposed to have a son!”“I’m sorry, Alpha Ronan, we thought it was a boy!” The healer shivered with fear.“Fuck! This ruins everything!”“Ronan,” I said softly. “Honey, please.”“No, Bowen, it’s supposed to be a boy! You were supposed to give birth to the future of the pack.”“She’s still our baby, Ronan. We still created a life together, that’s what you wanted.”“I thought you would have a boy.” He whispered. “This isn’t right.”The healer shakily walked over to me and put the baby in my arms. She was so beautiful. I couldn’t help but smile down at her. She was so tiny and perfect. How could Ronan be so mad about something so magnificent?“Ronan, darling just look at her,” I urged. He forced his eyes down to our daughter in my arms and I saw his face soften. “She looks like you.”“Right? Isn’t she amazing?”“Yeah, I guess she is.”“What should we name her? Some with an ‘R’?”“No, that's only for Alphas,” Ronan responded. “Um, I don’t know, you pick, I
“So how are things going with Alpha Conrad?” Trisha asked. “I’m handling him and everything has been fine.”That wasn’t entirely true. He had cornered me several times and forced kisses on me, but at least nothing to the extent of hand jobs and eating out had happened again. I was still toying with him and making him think I could possibly love him one day.Idiot.“Well that’s good. You’re learning how to keep things calm, Bowen.”“If Grant or Ronan found out how he’s been hounding me, they wouldn’t be pleased.”“Grant?” She raised her eyebrows. “What does he have to do with anything?”“He-he’s my bodyguard. It’s his job to protect me and if he finds out someone is making that job more difficult I’m sure he’d be upset.” I explained. “Is that the only reason he would be upset?”“What other reason would there be?”“I don’t know, I’m just curious.” Trisha chuckled. Oh she had to know something right? Otherwise why make such a comment?“I feel like you have something to say and you’re
I was looking at myself in the mirror. One year ago I did the same. I had to hype myself up so that I could have sex with Ronan. Tonight was completely different. I was excited to get into bed with Ronan and feel his hands on me. I wanted every second of pleasure. I had found the sexiest maternity lingerie that I could. I knew it would make Ronan happy. He liked seeing lace on me.“Bowen, is everything okay?” Ronan asked just like he had a year ago. “Yes, darling, I’m coming!” I smiled at myself before opening the door. Ronan was already in bed in nothing but his briefs, waiting for me. “Fuck,” He whispered. “You look amazing.”“Do you like it?” I asked. “I love it…get over here.”I strutted over the bed and straddled Ronan before leaning down to kiss him. His strong arms wrapped around me as his fingers gently slipped in my hair and gently pulled. I bit his lip and slowly pulled away, causing him to groan. My hips moved back and forth, grinding against him and feeling him beco
A year ago, I woke up happier than ever.I was so excited for what would happen later that day. I was going to marry the love of my life. I was going to stand across from him in front of the whole pack and profess my undying love for him. I was going to become Luna of the pack. I was ecstatic.I still remember bursting out of my room and seeing my father crying. They were happy tears. He had never been more happy that I had found someone who loved me as deeply as Ewan did. Everyone knew Ewan was head over heels over me. It was too obvious. Not just in the way he looked at me, but when he announced that he would give up his title just to be with me that sealed the deal. We were a couple desperately in love with each other and nothing could tear us apart. It was beautiful. From then on everyone was so excited for us, so ready to see us thrive as the leaders of this pack. My dad sat me down the morning of my wedding and told me how proud he was of me and that this was just the beginnin
“Can I talk to you girls about something?” Tara asked. This couldn't be good.“Sure,” Alice stated. “What is it?”“Sex.”Oh god no.“What um…what about it?” I asked.“Are we really the best people to discuss this with?” Alice questioned. “I mean we’re kind of all family.”“Not really we aren’t. I don’t have anyone else, Al, you know that,” Tara whispered. “I can’t ask Conrad about these things. You and Bowen are married and know about these things.”Alice sighed. “Okay, what is it?”“Well, Grant and I have been…intimate since our wedding night, only I always have to initiate.”“Does he not want to have sex with you?” Alice asked. “No, he does, once I initiate, but it seems like he’s never the one to make the first move. Bowen, would you know why that is?”“Why would I know why?” I questioned. “You’ve been around him for almost a year. Is he sexually shy or anxious? Does he worry about not being able to perform?” Tara pressed.Goodness, I didn’t want to have this conversation. “Um…
I slept like shit that night. All I could see was Conrad in front of me whimpering and moaning as he forced me to touch him. His horrid voice in my ear saying those uncomfortable things. I couldn’t believe how wrong about him I was.I thought he was nice and charming, but he was just a disgusting pervert. A man who had no problem cheating on his wife.I had to remind myself I was a cheater too and so was Alice, but not like that. I never forced Grant to do anything or locked him in a room with no escape. I was sure Alice didn’t act that way either. I mean Alice and I were actually in love when we cheated. On top of that, we were with men who had forced us to be with them. Our choices had been snatched from us and we just wanted one little thing that could make it all worth it. Something that would make us happy. We found that in other people.Conrad was just horny and sick. What’s worse is that Conrad knew I wouldn’t say anything. He knew that I knew better than to wreck an alliance
