Chapter 6: Snapping From It

On the other hand, Angel stopped approaching them when the other vampire that he was dealing with has been put to sleep. But something was suddenly wrapped around his body that he couldn’t tell what it was but it was preventing him from moving on his spot. 

“The fuck.” Angel muttered with gritted teeth since the magical power that was wrapping around his body was coming from the only vampire with them.

He turned to meet Mira. He was totally angry and tried his best to move from his spot while growling deeply. He doesn’t care about the pain that it was giving to his body. He was bleeding from fighting it back and he was not backing down. Until something hit his head from within.

‘ALARICK, ENOUGH!’

‘NO!’

‘THEN ARE YOU WILLING TO HURT OUR MATE?!’

‘MATE…?’

“From the moon to dawn,

Hear my voice and radiate into the clear sky.

From the sun to dusk,

Follow my voice and bring the light to heart.

Come to me and be with me

As beloved between the sun and moon

Truth all yours to claim.” Mira might be chanting those words, but every word she just said hit Angel in the heart.

“You…” Angel looked at Mira’s steady gaze and it was wrapping something around his body even more.

“Come back to me, my beloved.” she calmly ushered him but the feeling of being wrapped by something really angered him more.

“ARGH!!!! WHAT DID YOU DO?!” He shouted and ignored Mira’s call.

‘ALARICK!’

“What I have to do. So, come back -!” Mira answered and kept talking to him but he was trying to break from the invisible rope that was binding his body.

“NO!!!! I WILL KILL HIM!!!!” Angel screamed in anger which made Mira sigh.

“He’s stubborn wolf rogue.” Mira sighed while shaking his head and went faster to hold him.

“Look at me.” Mira tried to make Angel look at her but there was nothing. Angel was too focused on approaching the unconscious and pinned the vampire on the earthly ground.

Mira had no other choice but to use her vampire side and face Angel’s temper head-on. She went on trying to get hold of him but Angel was equally meeting them or dodging them. Mira smirked since he managed to excite her and made her top-up her charges that making Angel stumble and moved backward.

“WHY PROTECT HIM?!” He was totally mad as he either blocked or meet the heavy punches that Mira was giving to him. It was releasing a very powerful vibration around them as they didn’t care about the coming of the storm on the entire city.

“I AM NOT!” Mira shouted since she could feel the storm and she was worried about the youngsters with them. They were not fully safe yet from any illness that might occur in their body.

“YES, YOU ARE!” He shouted and turned the table. Angel began giving Mira heavy blows that she easily dodged even though there were moments when he managed to grab her but she easily get away from it.

“NO!” she defended while she meet every heavy blows that Angel sent her way that made her almost lose her balance but saved by her flexibility.

“HE’S ONE OF YOU!” he had a point there but Mira sighed heavily and moved away from him for a second.

“Not anymore but YOU are.” Mira’s eyes changed from mauve to dark bloody red which made her kind to shiver and cower in fear but not Angel. He was not affected by it.

As Mira in that side, she popped in front of Angel and grabbed his neck before forcing him to gaze into her eyes by pulling him down. When their eyes meet closer, Mira saw it even though it was just a glimpse. Angel did a backflip that left a scratch over Angel’s neck. Mira anticipated it as she quickly distance herself before his kick reach her beautiful face.

“Hm, tasty.” Mira muttered as she licked her fingertips that managed to scratch Angel. But she smirked and did something that surprised Angel from within.

“Angel, hear me?” Mira managed to infiltrate the mind of her beloved mate.

‘Wha-How did you do that?’

“Glad you hear me.” she sighed with gladness but Angel from within was still confused.

‘How did you do it?’

“Tell you later but right now, you have to do something for me.” she requested and it made him curious about it.

‘Okay?’

“Distract him from there, inside. I’ll handle your wolf from here.” she planned and Angel agreed to it yet still wondered about the same issue that bothering him.

‘Okay but tell me how did you do it? I might use it against him.’

“Mate bond.” She only answered because it was the truth and it made clarified something in Angel.

‘So we’re indeed mates…’

“Angel, focus.” she sighed but she was also smirking and Angel started pissing his wolf’s control over his body.

‘Right…Alarick…YAH! ALARICK, OUR MATE IS HURTING SO STOP IT!’

‘NO!’

‘YOU REALLY WANTED TO KILL HER BY DOING THIS! WILL YOU BE HAPPY WHEN HER BLOOD IS IN YOUR HAND? ALARICK, WAKE UP!’

‘NO-!’

Mira might be hearing their conversation from within yet the movement of Angel on the surface was totally powerful that making Mira dodge carefully. She need to move quickly before the storm hit the land and that’s what she did. 

“I have to drink his blood.” Mira thought as she moved really fast than the usual speed that she was using and it was making Angel confused. He couldn’t tell where Mira was going to appear.

“Still lacking in practice.” she thought again when she noticed that which she grabbed the opportunity. She quickly make the same spot on his neck to bleed even more before she licked a lot of it.

With one whole taste of Angel’s blood from Mira’s tongue, something began to happen to Angel’s body. He began to groan in pain and fell down onto his knees while crying. Mira immediately went to his side and slapped him really hard.

“WHY YOU!” Angel’s wolf roared at Mira after receiving a very hard slap on the face.

“Me what, Alarick? Give it back to Angel or I won’t mark you or even let you touch me aside from Angel himself.” Mira dared that made everyone gasp from what they’d heard.

“Wha-!” he was totally speechless as Mira grabbed his collar. There was only an inch apart from their face. 

“Alarick. Give. it. Back. to. Angel.” Mira was firm and commanding which made him shiver.

‘Give it back, Alarick.’

‘SHUT UP!’

“Give it now.” Mira pressed on commanding Angel’s wolf from using Angel’s body.

“Argh! Fine but let me kill him.” he growled lowly which made Angel from within went on teasing his own wolf. Alarick went on growling at his teases.

‘You’re whipped.’

“Angel, enough teasing.” Mira hushed Angel teasing mode at his own wolf.

“Later, Alarick, I will let you play with him in my dungeon. For now, we need to shelter the youngster since she was not safe from any illness without her wolf.” Mira reminded them what really mattered at the moment.

“Elaine…” they both muttered and Alarick, Angel’s wolf began letting him take control over his body. Finally.

Angel composed himself once again and there was a very calming vibe around him that made the other vampires with them calm down as well yet still guarded. Mira smiled secretly and appeared beside Elaine.

“Up.” Elaine raised her hand up as soon as Mira appeared beside her.

“Elaine, it's not appropriate…” Ella, the witch mother of the two youngsters with them but Mira stopped her from preventing her daughter to come to her.

“It's okay, I like Elaine too.” Mira was being genuine and carried Elaine into her arms.

To Angel’s view, he found himself liking it that making his wolf howl in the background and Mira turned to meet his steady gaze. They were holding their staring moment as their bond tightened even more.

“Mate…” Angel muttered to himself alone but it was very clear to those around them.

“They’re mates?” one of the vampires with them whispered upon hearing it.

“It can’t be…” another one whispered and it made Angel flinch when he heard it.

Angel quickly covered his amazement and fascination on meeting his second chance in love and wore her blank expression as he passed them. He blocked those words and just went to his small pack.

“Alpha…” Luca lowly whispered when he noticed the sudden change in Angel’s expression. It might be just a second but he saw on how Angel longed for his mate and it was lying inside Mira, a vampire.

“I’m okay, Luca. Are you okay here?” Angel asked in his usual caring voice and he nodded. Luca could sense sadness in them which made him glare over those vampires with them.

‘Because of what they comment…he’s hurt…again…’

Mira heard what Luca was thinking when he glared at her men which made her sigh. She went closer to Angel while still carrying Elaine in her arms and then speak directly at him.

“Come with me. I’ll give you all shelter.” Mira’s voice was cold but she mean what she talked with Elaine. Angel jolted over the cold voice that his mate used there but his wolf was still howling as if it was singing in his mind.

‘She wants us to live with her~!’

“I don’t want to burden you.” Angel only managed to say but Mira shook her head.

“You won’t. So come before the young one earns a rare sickness since her wolf hasn’t awakened yet.” She genuinely smiled and glanced over at the young pup clinging tightly to her arms.

“You can tell?” Elaine asked while grinning at Mira.

“I’m special that’s why I know.” Mira answered as she nuzzled her nose to her tiny nose. It causes the kid to giggle sweetly. It was making their heavy mood lightened and they smiled at how innocent her laughter was.

None of them could speak as the innocent laughter echoed around them but when Mira changed her posture and her aura shifted as well, her men halted on their spot.

“We’re taking them back with us to the mansion.” Mira commanded her men as her eyes were glued over Angel. Angel shivered and didn’t meet her eyes since he was hiding his broken heart.

‘She’s accepting us, Angel.’

‘I know…’

‘You need to heal for her.’

‘I’ll try.’

‘Dude, are you alright?’

‘I will…just tired…maybe…’

‘Alright, summon me if there’s something you can’t hold any longer.’

‘Thanks, Alrick.’

Mira heard their conversation while her men were looking at each other since they knew that their mistress won’t let anyone stay or lived in the mansion for good before. They were totally surprised by it before one of them tried to speak.

“But my lady…” one of the vampires with them was about to ask but Mira cut him off.

“My words are absolute. Take them in. Now.” Mira firmly commanded which made them jolted. There was coldness in her voice and it was making her men cower.

“Yes, my lady.” they all agreed and complied with what their mistress commanded them.

They began helping them to get their things and since they were not having many things to carry, they immediately left the cabin. One vampire was carrying the unconscious peer in his back while two vampires were carrying the ladies’ luggage and the other one was leading the way and who Ciel decided to talk with.

“What a brave young man.” Mira commented that was loud enough for his parents to hear as well as his youngest sister that she carrying in her arms.

“He’s my brother.” Elaine was very proud of her brother and Mira nodded.

“I can see that baby girl.” Mira chuckled yet she started listening to Ciel and Sedrick, the vampire that he was talking with.

‘Hey, I’m Ciel, can I ask a question?’

‘I’m Sedrick. Go ahead.’

Sedrick, the fifth vampire who Angel found a reasonable vampire to talk with and was Mira’s on-the-field leader which also explained why he leads them back to the mansion.

‘Was your mistress always this kind to us rogues?’

‘No, actually you’re the first rogues that she showed her care to aside from the vampires who found their mates among the rogues.’

‘Oh, so there are other rogues in the mansion?’

‘Yes, and you’re a curious teenager.’

“He’s indeed a curious halfling.” Mira thought to herself while listening to their conversation because Ciel wasn’t afraid of talking to a vampire. But Mira also knew that Sedrick was giving a trusting vibe.
