Lucas and his minions returned to Modi’s place to know if things were in order after he had received news from some of his minions that his territory was safe and sound.
He was pleased to see that Modi’s place was in order. He was assembling a brief meeting with the elders when Lucas arrived there. Everyone was busy preparing for a surprise attack.
“Hey!” Modi greeted Lucas as he made arrangements for the meeting with the elders of the South.
“What’s going on? I can see that your place is in good hands so what are you guys doing now?”
“Oh, I’m calling a meeting between me and the elders,” Modi replied still going about his business.
“Where’s your luna?” Lucas was curious. “I don’t see her anywhere.”
“Yeah… she went after Flint along with some of my minions…”
“What!? Flint was here?” Lucas’ eyes we
Modi touched Lucas on the shoulder and facing the crowd, he began. “This is Lucas, the prince of the night. Many of you may know him in person, he has been the protector of the Western aisles for centuries. He has held the territory together in peace. He has fought many wars and has protected other territories from harm.”The crowd listened in silence, nodding in agreement as he spoke.“I am sure that he will do the same for us while I am away.”Lucas gazed at him calmly.“I don’t know what will happen to me when I get there.” Modi continued ignoring his stare. “I may even be dead… but I know that I have placed you in good hands.”“Modi…” Lucas made to speak.“So you will all do as he says.” Modi continued, ignoring him. he gazed around and noticed that his luna was nowhere to be found. He knew that she was upset and probably did not want to be a part
May picked up her bag and approached him slowly. “Goodbye, my love.” She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a wild goodbye kiss.Modi did not respond. He was too upset to respond. She noticed it and stopped. “Please support me, honey. I want the best for everyone and especially for you. I don’t know where I’m going right now and I do love the idea of Lucas sneaking everyone out but I can’t be here doing nothing.” She paused to study his expressions.Modi watched her calmly. He said nothing but his face was saddened and she noticed it.“I have been a warrior all my life and that is who I am. I just can’t sit back and watch things fall apart before my eyes.” She continued. “If you have decided to surrender, then I must seek help. Don’t try to stop me, baby. I will return with help and back into your arms once this whole saga is over.” She gave him a pack on the cheek and walk
Lyono ran for days. He passed through the outlands and survived the harsh life to the border where he almost approached the world of the originals. He got to a nearby forest and made to take a break since it was just a few hours’ walk into town. So, he set his tent there to sleep for the night.May was close by. She had been watching him from the outlands. May was a fast runner. She got to the outlands in a day and was lucky to find Lyono striving for survival. She did not want him to see her as she wondered what he was looking for in the outlands. She followed closely to know where he was heading. She waited for him to fall asleep then she crept into his tent and made for his bag of food. Immediately he grabbed her by the arm. She gasped as she did not expect that he would catch her.“Who are you and why have been following me?” his eyes shone and his voice was almost a roar. He could sense that the culprit was of his kind so he was not afraid
Lucas had sent his minions to spy on the Southern aisles. He was worried about Modi and wanted to know how he was being treated.Flint did not look too happy. Not because of Modi’s maltreatment but because the priest seemed to have forgotten to keep his own side of the bargain. The priest was excited about settling in the Southern aisles because he had all his magic there. He had his bowl of clouds again except that this time, it was almost damaged. He had been torturing Modi to reveal all the plans he had made with Lucas but all to no avail.Flint approached the priest’s lair to find him in his conjuring room, performing some magic in there.“What do you want, Flint?” the priest asked still concentrating on what he was doing.“We need to talk.” Flint wore a serious look.“What’s going on?” the priest continued his conjuring. “We are getting close to victory; don’t ruin it wit
May and Lyono spent more time in the forest since they had no place to stay and the forest was an easy place for them to be free to express themselves as werewolves when they are sure that no one is watching.Werewolves had the talent for learning really fast and May was not different. She learned everything Lyono taught her about the world of the originals and how she could blend in as one of them.May did the hunting while Lyono would prepare the meal. They soon suddenly started enjoying the forest until they were warned by park rangers to return to their homes or face the law. They had to move to another forest a bit far from the one they lived in and made their home. They sat the fire that night in silence when suddenly there was a whoosh of wind that blew off the fire. The atmosphere suddenly became cold and they made to head into their tent when a soft sonorous voice called out to them sweetly. My children…. Come closer.” It was the Moo
“Thank you so much, Claire for bailing us out of there and for inviting us to this lovely house.” Lyono appreciated her while admiring the place.Claire was trying to study him. she smiled and nodded in acknowledgment. “It’s no bother. I was the one that got you guys arrested in the first place so it’s only logical that I got you out.” She wondered why Lyono’s face was covered in so much hair. She could barely see his face to get what he looked like.May was excited to meet Collen. She sat with Collen at a corner talking and catching up while Lyono and Claire chatted about other things.“Wow! Look at you, Raul. You’ve changed so much. What happened to the fierce and fiery Raul I used to know?” May was amazed.Raul smiled. He was equally happy to see her. “It has been so many years.”“Yeah…”“And we have both changed so much,” Raul admitted.
Back in the mainlands, Flint had made a decree that prevents anyone from leaving the walls of the East wing. It was followed by punishment of death on sight for anyone who violates the law. This made it difficult for the young werewolf and his friends who wished to seek asylum in the Western aisles to move out. There was a curfew that lasted for twelve hours beginning from 6 pm after working hours that allowed citizens to go about their daily businesses.Every day, the young werewolf would gather his friends in his house before the curfew began to strategize on a plan to sneak out of the city. They were about ten of them, all young werewolves between the ages of twenty-one to twenty-five. They served in the palace before they were replaced with the human slaves turned werewolves. These young werewolves comprised of four females and six males. The mastermind amongst them was called Yutti. He used to serve as Flint’s assistant butler where his father was the
The three young werewolves got out of their disguise on arriving at their hideout to the surprised faces of their friends.“What happened?” they chorused in awe.“There is a change in the law.” One of them explained as he undressed himself to get into his own clothes.“There will be a general hunt day on Wednesdays from now on, says the soldier.” Another explained.“There will be monitoring going on in case anyone tries to escape.” The third male concluded.“They know of some escape plans but they do not know who the traitors are.” One of them added.“Oh no! that’s not good.” Yutti sat in disarray on the couch.“It’s not over.” Muna cut in from the corner where she sat. They all turned to listen to her as usual.“This is actually a good chance for all of us to make our escape at the same time.” She explained.
