5- Nixon

"Sorry man I don't mean to laugh" Luca coughs from laughing so hard and I throw a pinecone at his head.

"Was he good looking" he asks as he composes himself.

I take a minute to think about him, Harper my mate. Was he attractive? Yes he was.

Pricing deep blue eyes, soft pink lips tall but still shorter than me. He's slim but looks fit, perfectly messed up hair that looks soft and tempting.

I couldn't help but look at his round toned ass as he walked away. The jeans he was wearing hugged his thighs nicely.

"Don't think to hard Nix"

"Shut up Luca" sighing I shift back my wolf and start to head home.

'Mate' Niro says turning the river.

Running along the tree line smoke can be seen rising through the trees tops and the closer I get my advanced hearing tunes in on the sounds of cracking wood and Harper's voice muttering to himself.

Stepping closer to his camp I watch as he takes off his soaked hoodie and tosses it to the ground next to the fire, I watch from the shadows ahead he reaches for the hem of his shirt and starts to lift up exposing a small amount of smooth skin.

Stepping closer to try and get a better lock I step on a twig making it snap.

"Hello" he calls out letting his shirt fall back into place.

I stand still "If I'm trespassing on Night Moon territory I can leave" he's smart I'll give him that and he knows of our existence which makes revealing myself to him easier.

Hearing nothing he reaches for his hem again and this time I manage to get closer with out making a sound.

The wet fabric sticks to his skin as he rises his arms over his head pulling the shirt off over his head co please exposing his smooth tan skin, slight abs and a small mole above his bellybutton.

Stepping out of the shadows he turns around at looks right at me.

"What are you doing here" I ask walking closer.

He doesn't answer only rummages through a black duffle bag, pulling out a pair of light blue and black basketball shorts, he tosses them to me and I slip them on.

"What are you doing here" I ask again letting my Alpha voice slip, forgetting that he is human and it won't work on him.

He surprises me by answering "I have nowhere else to go"

"Luca send Nigel and Kevin to the widows cove to collect Harper's things" I block Lucas response before he can answer not wanting to hear his smart ass replay now.

"Follow me" he pulls his wet shirt back on and goes to grab his bag but I tell him to leave it.

Th walk back to my house is quiet, I can tell he's nervous but do nothing to calm them, I haven't had time to really process what this is all going to mean for my pack and myself.

The idea of being mated to him is new to me. I've never been with another man and the unknown is kinda intimidating.

Walking through the pack lands I spot my niece Cora running right at me.

"Alpha Nixon"

"Hey kiddo" I've always wanted pups of my own and now that dream has died.

"Today in school the teacher called me to answer a math problem and guess what? I got it right"

"What did she ask you"

"She asked me what ten plus ten was and I told her twenty and she gave me a gold start and said I was very smart. The. After school Nancy called me a kiss up and Lisha kicked her in the kn-"

"Who's that" she suddenly asks pointing to Harper when we stop outside her house.

"A friend" I see the hurt in his eyes but push it aside for now.

Putting Cora down she runs of to the house and I keep walking with Harper behind me.

Walking up the front stairs I open the door and wait for him to walk past me before following behind him. Closing the door behind me I stand back and take him in.

His jeans and shirt are somewhat dry now and his hair is the same perfect mess it was when we first met. He is beautiful in way I didn't no possible.

"You said you didn't have anywhere to go, why's that" I ask walking over to the couch and sitting down.

"My mom kicked me out for being gay" he's so open and forthcoming it's refreshing in a way.

"You called me mate, why?" He asks me while sitting on the edge of the other end of the couch.

"Because the moon goddess has a sense of humor and after seven years of waiting she sent me you" again hurt flash's across his face but he masks it.

"Look Harper this is new to me I've never been with a man and I'm still struggling with the idea of it but if your patient with me I promise to try"  it's the truth, I owe it to myself and moon goddess to try.

She never does something with out having a reason for it and what ever her reasons for tying my fate to him must be a good one.

"You can stay here for the time being. I'll have the room across from mine made up for you and Nigel and Keven should be here in a bit with your things"

Standing I turn to head upstairs when the front door opens and Viviana strolls in.

"Baby I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to my parents house for dinner and we can bring up our request to be mated" she saunter up to me "or we can skip the dinner and head straight for the dessert"

"As tempting as your offer sounds Viviana I do t think my mate would like that to much"
