Osiris

I’m crouched near the edge of the forest, nose to the ground, tracing Aeron’s last known path like a damn bloodhound. Every scent, every broken twig, it’s all starting to piece together in my mind.

I can almost feel him here, can almost hear the rustling leaves and his footsteps. I’m deep in the zone, blocking everything else out, focused solely on tracking my little brother.

A familiar scent catches me off guard—something comforting, like home, and something else... soft, familiar. I lift my head, the scent growing stronger. I know this scent.

“Osiris?”

The voice pulls me out of the trance, and I look up to see Camellia standing a few feet away, her eyes wide with shock. For a moment, we just stare at each other, and then a smile tugs at the corner of my lips. Damn, I haven’t seen her in ages.

Before I can say a word, she rushes toward me, throwing her arms around my neck and hugging me tight. “Oh my God, Osiris! I didn’t know you were back! It’s so good to see you!”
