"What do you think Alpha Nolan's planning?" David asked curiously. "We just have to remain on high alert" Alpha Jones slammed the arm of his throne and the sound echoed through the whole throne room.It had been a while they had been expecting Alpha Nolan to attack after he had secured the plague. But he had not shown up and everything seemed strangely calm."He must have been planning something differently. We have to think outside the box so we don't receive the greatest shock of our life" the Mage was actually supporting David's idea."The plague is his best shot. That is what I will do if I were him" Alpha Jones insisted. "Don't let us run out of patience. So that when he comes, he will meet us ready. We should not divert from our outlined plan" he blurted out."The plague is what we know him to be possessing. He might have another thing we know nothing about" David posed."Like I said, there can be never be anything more threatening than the plague. We stick to plan" Alpha Jones
Sophie was having a hard time to get sleep. She was busy thinking about what Tonia said earlier. That was going to be a lot to take in for her. "You are not sleeping?" Alpha Jones' voice startled her.She looked up, Alpha Jones was already sitting up beside her. His voice was sleepy. She didn't know he would wake up that fast."I'm trying to get it but it... Don't worry about me" she waved her hand once and pretended to be okay."What's bothering you?" Alpha Jones insisted."Tonia said I will have to kill her to steal her power" Sophie let out."That's what's bothering you?" Alpha Jones chuckled. "Are you feeling guilty? That you want to kill a friend just to save others?" he asked rather than consoling that Sophie expected."We are not really friends. We are at each other's necks most of the time but having to kill her now, it's unbearable" Sophie shook her head. She would have loved the whole situation if there was another way to go about this. The problem was she didn't know much
The Mage pulled the lever in the last cell in the basement. He had always thought there was something beneath the place. All the times he had pulled it. He always found a wall. He would go back after that. But now that Tonia had confirmed that there were soldiers buried in there. He had a motivation to go in.The wall would need to be moved by some spells or symbols. Whatever that would be, he believed there would be clue to follow. The door opened and as always, there was the wall."How do you move?" he muttered and rubbed his hand over the wall.Luckily, there were inscriptions on the wall. But they were not understandable."Am I supposed to just read this or they are instructions to be followed?" he kept asking himself to ponder. He traced the signs and symbols with his finger. The signs glowed some light and he felt perched all over his body."What? Do you want blood?" he couldn't believe it, but that was the likeliest way out of this.He rubbed his finger on the wall until he sta
Some days later. Tonia came into the throne room again. She looked dejected and frightened."They are coming. They are on their way here" she spilled. "You haven't told us anything to do. You just keep telling us how close they are. Do you just want us to keep panicking? " David asked uninterestedly."What to do? There's is nothing else to do than what I've already told you. She kills me and takes my power for you to win" she pointed to Sophie. "Does that sound like a plan, to win a war?" David snorted to fault her. "Anyway, it might be a plan. Maybe it is just yours while we are the one being played" she scoffed."That's ridiculous. How am I to benefit after I have been killed?" Tonia shook her head. She seemed bitter by the comment."Benefits, yes. You won't have any benefit helping the people that kept you incarcerated. So why would you just decide to help us?" Alpha Jones added to her woes."You all have trust issues. Even putting my life at stake is not enough to convince you I
Confusion. In a degree that she had never experienced before. Sophie didn't know whose side she should be.Tonia or David. She crept back to the gate of Tonia's cell."I have tried my best. I don't know what else to do" Tonia said immediately seeing her."I trust you, though I don't want to kill you. But I don't think there's any other possible way to go about it" Sophie said remorsefully."You don't need to think of other ways. There's no other way. The way that I am proposing will only work if properly and intelligently executed. There's no room for mistake" Tonia seemed to be speaking from the bottom of her heart."I will keep finding another way. If it doesn't really exist like you said. I will consider this option that time" Sophie let out a heavy sigh."No. It does not work that way. This plan needs to be conceived and repeated in your mind till you will be perfect with it" Tonia shook her head. "You have to be determined, there should be no hesitation or everything will fall ap
"The Fourth, why do you remain behind this bars?" Rhine shook the gate of the cell vigorously."I need help to get out. I don't understand how that happened" Tonia panicked."Now get out here" Rhine commanded.Tonia moved some paces and stopped. "I can't risk coming close to the gate anymore. It keeps sending me back" Tonia said tearfully. "Maybe I should just remain, the First" she gulped a lump."Now come out here. I've broken every thing that can hinder your movement out of the place" Rhine assured her.Tonia knew that was the time for her to come out. Staying further would just expose all her lies."Are you sure?" Tonia placed a leg across the gate and hesitated before finally coming out."She is a liar. She lied to us" Golad murmured but Tonia could hear him clearly."Why did you choose to stay when you could have just come out easily?" Rhine challenged her."I couldn't, not until you break the spell or whatever was holding me back" Tonia defended herself."The thing is, I break
"Stop!" Sophie yelled suddenly. She turned back to face Alpha Jones. "He should just go back" she said to him."Who?" Alpha Jones asked cluelessly."The Mage" she pointed to him. She had been thinking in both ways for a while and the best way was to leave someone behind. The Mage was the most appropriate."Why me? We are going to face some people that have been existing when our forefathers were not yet born. If there should be a criteria to choose who should go, it should be age" the Mage said slowly and walked to the front."I guess she uses the same criteria and she thinks you are too old" David smirked."I am the oldest, inarguably the most experienced" he let out a sigh."This is a war with a higher propensity of getting defeated. We need someone to survive" Sophie insisted."I know you are the one calling the shots. Actually I'm tired if living and this is possibly the last war in this Manor, it will be a pleasure to die during that" the Mage retorted.Alpha Jones walked Sophie
Sophie was still trying to sum up some courage before stepping into the cell. The more she approached the cell, the more her confidence dwindled. She had already taken Crookdove's dagger. The whole cell started shaking. It was terrifying."What do you think is happening?" Alpha Jones asked anxiously. "Do you think they are released already?" Sophie was very frightened. She had the thoughts of failure before starting."Whatever it is, we are going to act as planned. Get down there now and kill Tonia to take her power" David was stern. He was obviously putting pressure on her."I will be in there, I will kill her and take her life" Sophie muttered to herself."And where is Martell? Do you think he has changed his mind?" Alpha Jones brought to their notice."I doubt it. He was ready to turn against their commander just to get his men free" Sophie was certain of that. She had spoken with him at length. She could feel how he and his men had suffered in the hands of the so called Five god
Present day.Sophie rushed to CassandraCassandra had fallen down and was groaning hard after pulling the dolls apart."Do not let him escape" Cassandra gargled. "Go after him" she pointed forward.Alpha Nolan started moving away slowly. The Mage held him down with all his strength but Alpha Nolan continued his movement dragging the Mage along.Sophie stared around searching for Crookdove. He was nowhere to be found.Alpha Jones ran out from nowhere with David. They both jumped on Alpha Nolan.Alpha Nolan threw both of them away with a punch. Both of them groaned as they landed on the ground. The Mage was still holding him tight.Sophie ran into him and kicked him to the ground. She looked around but she still couldn't catch a glimpse of Crookdove."Where's Crookdove?" Alpha Jones asked anxiously."I can't find him" Sophie was angry.Alpha Nolan got up again to start running away. He pushed Sophie off her body and continued running to a cornerSophie ran after him. She got to his side
"I'm sure this will seem strange to you. But I'm happy to tell you that after a lot of years, this Manor had been taken back from the imposter" Alpha Nolan addressed the gathering in the yard. The gathering muttered indinstinctly. It was clear that they were not welcoming him."You address them, now" Alpha Nolan snarled at the Mage."This is the new Alpha of the Manor" the Mage endorsed him. "The announcement will be made properly tomorrow. This is just to let you know we now have a new Alpha. He is the Lord of all guards, maids and servants in this Manor" he said conclusively. The gathering kept chattering as they moved away. They were obviously confused and with the Mage endorsement, they had no choice than to murmur."I'm taking a tour round the Manor" Alpha Nolan said loudly after the gathering had dispersed. He waved at Sophie to join him.The three of them went outside. Alpha Nolan kept checking around. He couldn't get satisfied.Sophie was surprised to see Cassandra coming tow
Present day.Sophie and Alpha Jones were still very confused about what to do. Alpha Nolan had become unkillable. He wouldn't also leave the Manor. "Should we just accept the fact that I have won and hand over to me what's mine?" Alpha Nolan asked teasingly."You have lost woefully. We won't stop until you meet your end" Alpha Jones retorted. "I'm fighting you to death" he proclaimed."I think you know only Crookdove can kill me now and I wonder how you are going to do that" he made jest of them."Take her away" Alpha Jones said to David and attacked Alpha Nolan.Sophie pushed David away. She rushed towards Alpha Nolan too.Alpha Nolan hit both of them together and they fell on their backs."I will kill you if you do not stop" he asserted. The Mage came to him. "What do you want?" he asked calmly."You must be the Mage, I want you to announce me as the Alpha of these Manor. Accept defeat and I will spare all of you" Alpha Nolan affirmed."You can not be the Alpha of this Manor. Your
"Why should I kill her?!" Alpha Nolan retorted"Sophie is going to be your downfall, your death, a lot of bad things in your life. You will keep getting near but you won't reach" the Diviner was very certain."That's simple. I can just change her name to Dana. Dana won't be my death, right?" he solved straightaway."You are joking. Changing her name changes not her destiny" the Diviner proclaimed. He got up and left."I think we should obey the Diviner and kill the little girl" Matt whispered to Alpha Nolan."Do you know how many soldiers I lose weekly and do you know how that is affecting my progress?" Alpha Nolan asked trivially.Matt was dumbfounded. He couldn't say anything."So remain quiet like that" Alpha Nolan shunned him.*********************"It still feels like a dream to me, I was nothing few days ago. Now you've made me a Luna. Just like that" Cassandra was all smiling on the bed. She was clearly waiting for Alpha Nolan's arrival into the bedroomAlpha Nolan couldn't get
Sophie rushed at Alpha Nolan. She was not ready to hear anything from him."Didn't you hear what I'm saying? Don't do anything stupid" Alpha Nolan insisted. He didn't run from Sophie or fight back."Crookdove!!" Sophie called him out.Crookdove stood behind Alpha Nolan with his hand stiffened. He was waiting for Sophie to give Alpha Nolan a push."Come on. I warned you" Alpha Nolan's confidence was not diminishing.Sophie pushed him effortlessly. Alpha Nolan made it very easy. The knife went into him. He groaned and exhaled to contain the pain."You have all meet your end" David hummed.Sophie started groaning. Blood was streaming out of her body without being cut."We are going to die together. Tell him to heal and cauterize my wound" Alpha Nolan breathed heavily. He was in great pain.Sophie could feel everything he felt. They were both losing their breath."Tell him to heal me now or we will both.... die.... Tell him" Alpha Jones could no longer held himself up."Crookdove, heal h
"Let's get him the beasts quickly" Sophie yelled hastily and she took off immediately. The giant soldiers flooded in and blocked them."I thought you said you have defeated them mentally?"'Alpha Jones asked the Mage."I just managed to escape. They are still alive and well as you can see" the Mage replied awkwardly. The soldiers started attacking them immediately."We need to fight them" David pulled his sword and engaged them."I think they won't attack us again after Rhine had died" Sophie was confused."Rhine is not the one controlling them. It was Martell" the Mage deduced."Stop! Stop!! Martell doesn't want this" Sophie said loudly but the soldiers didn't bother to listen to her.In no time, David and Alpha Jones had been grounded. They were now fighting for their lives."I need to find Martell" the Mage wanted to steer away."If you will get us anything. Get rats or any living animal for Crookdove" Sophie instructed him.She believed if Crookdove is revived. He would help them f
"I'm going to enjoy this, the Alpha fighting the Luna" Alpha Nolan reacted happily and focused on them.Sophie looked up at Alpha Jones. "Yes. Come and get me then" she stood straight waiting for him."Thank you" Alpha Jones said excitedly. He drew his sword while moving swiftly towards her.Sophie weaved aside to dodge his sword. She hit him on his nose.Alpha Jones staggered back and held his nose. It took some times before he recovered."I didn't know you are going to fight back" Alpha Jones shook his head. "You are welcome" he prepared to attack her again."This is how it should be. He is your enemy. But you are blind by the good side and the bad side. There is no good or bad. We are all trying to do what we have to do" Alpha Nolan encouraged Sophie."Just keep quiet" she yelled at him."You have picked the wrong side, Sophie. But it isn't too late. You have me here. I'm ready to accept you and overlook all your past mistakes" Alpha Nolan didn't stop.Sophie had her mind already
One of the giant soldiers finally got to her. He pulled one of her legs. "I'm one of your commanders!" she cried out. "I'm the Fourth" she breathed heavily. The giant soldiers didn't seem to understand a word she was spitting. They converged around her. With the staunch look on their faces, they definitely wanted to tear her into pieces."Stop!" a voice said suddenly. "Martell didn't want you to hurt her" the Mage walked through them and lent Sophie a hand to get up.The giant soldiers buzzed and moved away from her. They seemed clueless."They stopped?" Sophie was shocked."Only Martell controls them, if he is not around. They are useless" he helped her and they went into one of the chambers."What about David?" Sophie recollected how David had nearly took his life out of him."He's out" the Mage scoffed."Dead?" Sophie wouldn't want that."No. He's only knocked out" he shook his head."That's better. I didn't know you have so much fight in you" Sophie expressed her surprise."Alre
Sophie panted. This was an experience she never expected. Having to fight someone she didn't want to fight. She could have tried to subdue Alpha Jones and got him tied up in some ways. There was no way she could do that with David supporting him.She locked herself up in the throne room but Alpha Jones and David were relentlessly hitting the door to break it down. They were very engrossed in it and the door had started showing them some cooperation. They would be in the throne room with her within few minutes. She started crying. She wouldn't wish to die this way. Being killed by the only man she was in love with "That will be better" she mustered up courage. She decided to kill herself before they would make it in.She searched around for what can be used to commit suicide. All the sharp objects she could get were not promising. None of them could give a fast painless death. She remembered a dagger that was hidden in Alpha Jones throne. She skimmed over and brought it out.She went
