CHAPTER-7

Zander's P. O. V

Bone cracking sound brought my focus back to the girl before me. I wanted to know everything about her. Who was she? Was she a part of this pack or she came with one of the other alphas who were attending the ball? What was her name? Where did she stay? I never felt this weird sensation. I never had this urge to know about someone as much as I wanted to know about her. It was terrifying me as well as making me excited. I never thought of taking care of someone else other than myself.

The bones of the girl started breaking. She screamed out. It was sure she shifted very less. Her back started bending,her nails extended to claws,her face extended,her ears elongated.My air got stuck in my chest when I saw what happened next. Her body slowly starts to cover in white fur. She landed on four with a beautiful long bushy white tail.

My eyes grew big, my mouth was hanging open, my body was completely still. My mate was white wolf.

I was so shocked that her beautiful wolf was running away. Her wolf was breathtakingly beautiful. I never saw a white wolf in my life until now. She must have sensed me but why was she running away? I just could not let her go and I do not know her name.

I stripped my clothes faster than I had ever done in my entire life and shifted in my black wolf. She was very fast . I was chasing after her. My wolf would not give up until it had her. It pushed me to run faster. The trees were blurry around us because of the speed we both were running.

Her wolf looked over her shoulder at us. I could not see her eyes clearly but I could feel the longing her wolf was feeling. Her human side was fighting the mate bond but her wolf wanted her mate. I gave up the idea of rejecting her the moment I felt her. She could fight ,run all she wanted but she would be mine in the end. I would possess her, claim her and make her mine. Where the hell did these possessive feelings come from?

Her wolf started running in crosses through the tall trees. My wolf followed her every movement. It howled at her. Instead of going straight her wolf started running in the left direction then back to the pack house direction. She increased her speed more. In the end she turned towards the left but when I reached the end there was no terrace for her. I could not smell her anymore.

My wolf growled in anger and frustration. It was not happy that our mate left us.I shifted back to my human when I was near my car. I had always keep extra clothes in the boot of my car.

After changing in my clothes I entered the pack house from the back door and came face to face with my beta who is munching a mouth full of chips in the kitchen. Why am I not surprised?.

"Where were you? " My beta asked while gulping.

"For running. "

"During the ball? "

"Any problem? "

"Not at all"

"Then stop asking questions and go back to your room".

With that I went to the guest room.Entering the room I started replaying the events that happened in the forest. I got her and lost my mate on the same day. I thought after nineteen years white wolves would not exist as very few families survived and the last white wolf was killed nineteen years ago along with his mate by the rogue alpha.

Would it be the right thing to do if I accept the mate bond? I never wanted my fated mate because I did not want to lose her. I lost everything that I cared about once. I destroyed everything that I touched and loved. I could not lose her . I had countless enemies who had been trying to find my weakness for years. If she stayed in my life then she would be in danger continuously and my wolf would never let me reject her but that would be an excuse if I did not say I wanted her as much as my wolf did. But what was I going to do with her being a white wolf ? If the enemies found out then her life was going to be in more danger.

Putting my arms behind my head I laid wide awake the entire night.The sleep never came.

Alex P. O. V

I climbed down the balcony of the alphas office by the pipe that was beside the balcony after I was done with my present for the king. I never met the king but it would not be so nice if I did not leave a present for him. I wait till tomorrow's meeting to see how much he loved my surprise. His mind was going to blow away. When I was near the ground I jumped off the pipe and sprinted towards the forest.

The full moon was shining in the dark night sky . I wanted my wolf to come out. My feet stopped in the middle of the forest. I was so focused on the beautiful moon that I did not notice that someone was behind me.

I felt the presence of someone with a very powerful and majestic aura when I heard his breathing ,coming from behind.He was close.Suddenly I was surrounded with a very beautiful intoxicating smell. It smells like sandalwood and mint. My body becomes tense because I know the cause why my wolf was so restless.

'Mate Mate Mate' .

My wolf continued to chant and I stood frozen there, suddenly coming to my senses ,I quickly shifted and darted deep in the forest. Few moments later I felt my mate's wolf was chasing me. I sped off. Instead of going deep in the forest I changed the track and began to run towards the pack house.I hid my scent .I made sure my mate lost my track when I took a turn at the end of the forest.

After that I returned home and shifted back into my human form. Started thinking about what happened in the forest. I never saw his face and I think neither did he see mine. I had to stay away from the pack house. He must be one of the visitors from one of the packs that came to the ball. Tomorrow everyone will return to their packs early in the morning , only king ,royal warriors and alphas would stay for the meeting.

My mate saw what I was. I just hope he did not say anything about it to anyone. Thinking about all the possibilities of how this evening could go wrong, I went to sleep.
