Her look changed into amusement. “I’ve heard even mates could still be rejected . . . isn’t that correct?”
His expression became dark as he pulled her closer to him. “Where did you hear that? Different packs may have different beliefs. Here in Snow Mountain, such a thing is frowned upon. There’s a belief that when mated wolves reject the other, they are cursed to be alone forever. Second chances don’t apply to them. It’s the same with fated mates who reject the other. Only the rejected mate will get a second chance. The one who rejected the other wouldn’t.”
