Chapter 42 – Coldness
He slowed down, not wanting to dash his hope so quickly. But that glow . . . it must be her. He quickened his footsteps again until he could finally see her. He was immensely relieved to recognize her from a distance. She’s wearing a white dress and she’s once again covered with moonglow. All the remaining silver wolves surrounded her and his heart skipped a beat when he saw her smile as she petted the lot of them. He was happy to see her but he’s also nervous. How was he supposed to tell her that he lost three of her wolves?
He approached her slowly and when she turned to look at him, her smile faded. She only spared him a second before crouching down and hugging Killian. The others seemed to want the same. Heck, he wanted one, too.
