81 - The Lost Alpha

"Amelia I'm looking for is you! Can't you wake up a little? I called you Amelia earlier, I'm not looking for someone else!"

In front of everyone, I blurted out the thoughts that had been nagging at me. Amelia had never looked at me more surprised than this before. And her husband, the owner of this inn, Albert, also fell silent at the sound of my voice.

Unlike Amelia, Albert was as calm-faced as when he first came here. He said something to his wife, before taking me from this room to the outside of the inn. And asked me to have a one-on-one talk with him.

"Are you the daughter of her previous husband?" Albert opened up after lighting a cigarette butt on his lips.

"I'm sorry if I disappointed you. If there's anything I can help you with, then you'd better ask me," he said again. This time, he invited me to look at each others face to face. That's when I realized he knew something was wrong with his wife, Amelia.

"I'm not her daughter," I quickly retorted before he could misunderstand.
