2 - First Rejection

"This is the contract you must sign. From now on, you are officially my slave. I've bought you at a great price, so make my money worth."

After kissing and lying in front of people, Hilbert threw a paper document to me, who was still in my wedding dress.

I looked at the amount of writing in the document: the contents were more or less my duty to be his fake contract mate.

"But ... Why me?" I asked, not understanding. "Do you want revenge because I rejected you? There are many other Omegas, and why did you choose me?"

"Because I didn't want to marry the Omega my parents chose," he said in anger. "If I don’t marry now, they will choose an Omega from another pack, and I don’t want that to happen."

"That's why you have to be my fake contract mate," he continued. "Think of it as your karma for wasting my feelings for you."

I was speechless at his words. In this bridal chamber, he left me sitting in the middle of the contract I had to sign.

Hilbert left without even touching me, even though this was our wedding night. But what surprised me was the Omega who was by his side.

A sexy Omega was waiting for him outside as if they had an appointment. And my eyes widened completely when I realized that the Omega was Charmy, my very best friend!

"H-Hilbert—" my voice trailed off as I tried to call out to him, but he had already waltzed away leaving me with my best friend.

‘Why would Charmy be with him? She's just a servant! Is Charmy also planning to betray me by cheating on me with Hilbert?’ I muttered in disbelief.

My chest felt like it was being attacked by a thousand needles, it hurt like hell. But rather than that, what I was thinking about was the future of my pack.

If Hilbert deceived my father with this fake contract mate, then he could be planning to destroy my pack!

On our wedding night, I ran around looking for where my father had gone. It was still our wedding party, but my Alpha mate, Hilbert, was in another room with my Omega best friend.

"Father! You don't understand! Hilbert has tricked us! I'm sure he's already planning something to destroy our pack!" I cried, ignored by my father.

It was funny to beg him to cancel this marriage, even though it was my father who had sold me to Hilbert.

However, this was all for the sake of my pack. So I'd rather be rubbish in front of my father who sold me than watch my subordinates suffer.

"You must cancel this marriage, father! Otherwise, our pack will be destroyed!" I screamed again. My father just sat there with a mute expression without paying a single heed to my words.

But instead of responding to me, he took something out of his antique cabinet. I noticed a small bottle in his hand that was held out to me.

"I have a great mission for you, my daughter," he said after a long silence. "You must poison Hilbert with that liquid if you want to save this pack."

My body froze instantly after he casually uttered the word 'poison'. "What do you mean, father? When did you start planning all this?"

"Useless children like you just shut up!" he snapped. "The poison is an aphrodisiac. You must make him drink it no matter what! That's the only way you can be useful in this pack!"

My forehead wrinkled uncomfortably at his words. "Aphrodisiac? What do you mean, father?"

He then explained that my mission was to seduce Hilbert on our bridal night.

He wanted me to get pregnant with Hilbert's child right away. Then once I was pregnant, our subordinates would kill Hilbert and take over his pack.

"If you become pregnant and he dies, then his entire estate will be ours," my father explained. "So you can't fail tonight. Understand, Lizzbeth?"

"Father, we don't need to kill him! We just need to cancel this marriage!" I pleaded, of course my father wasn't listening because to him I was just a useless bastard child.

"Miss Lizzbeth, King Hilbert asks you to go to his chambers now." A servant interrupted our conversation and spoke directly to me.

My father smiled when he realized Hilbert needed me tonight. He immediately stroked my face as if warning me.

"You cannot fail to seduce him tonight, Lizzbeth," he whispered in my ear. "You have to get her pregnant no matter what. Got it?"

I couldn't do anything about it. I headed towards where Hilbert was with very heavy steps. The servant who had approached me earlier led me where I needed to be.

Hilbert was already in our bridal chamber. And I wondered, wasn't he with Charmy earlier? Why is he calling me now?

"There is something strange going on with King Hilbert. He repeatedly called your name. That's why we called you," the servant said when we reached the door.

She left me here alone. Hesitantly, I opened the door to our bridal chamber with a pounding heart. And the first thing I saw was Hilbert lying helplessly on our bridal bed.

Only, that was not what made me stand rigid. Hilbert was currently in his shifter-wolf form. He had his fangs out, and his eyes were barking like a bloodied moon.

"Lizzbeth ... I need you, Lizzbeth ..." he muttered many times half-unconsciously.

And then I realized that he was in her fertility period; the time when an Alpha reaches the highest peak of lust on a perfect full moon. The time when an Alpha would need her mate to conceive and make children.

'But why me!? He left me to be with Charmy earlier. It shouldn't be me that he needs!' I screamed inwardly.

"Lizzbeth ... I love you so much. Why did you leave me first? Why did you reject me? After you rejected me, my life felt ruined ..." he said that many times while staggering towards me.

"H-hilbert! Come to your senses!" I screamed when he suddenly hugged me very tightly.

His body was hot as if he had a fever. I knew this was the sign of an Alpha who was in his fertile period.

"Why did you reject me in the first place, Lizzbeth? I almost died after you left me," he said in a very sad voice.

My heart was overwhelmed by his words. 'Didn't Hilbert buy my body because he wanted revenge? Is it possible that he's just hiding his true feelings from me? Is it possible that he still loves me?' I thought to myself.

He kept saying my name in his moans. When I felt him about to touch my body, I immediately rebelled. But he was so strong. And I almost screamed when I felt a bite on my neck.

"Hilbert! Don't! You can't mark me! You have to remember I'm just your fake contract mate!" I screamed to wake him up. But he who had lost control could only follow his lust without listening to me.

"I must impregnate you, I want to impregnate you. I have to fertilize your womb so that no more Alphas come near you. I've managed to get all the Alphas away from you, so now I just need to get you pregnant," he whispered in my ear.

Instantly, it was as if I saw my world collapse thanks to his words.

"Wait, Hilbert. So all the rejections I've received from my Alpha mates so far were your doing?" I said incredulously.
