Chapter 79: River

Ava's POV

I gasped.

I got up from where I laid and found myself soaked in water. My body was trembling. I was catching my breath when I adjusted my sight to my surroundings.

"W-where am I?" I asked, breathless.

Then, I froze when I realized something. I started to lower my head and looked at my body.

I gasped and flinched. "What's happening?" I lifted my hands. Yes, I could lift my hands.

Amarantha's hands.

I could recognize it by just looking at this body.

I hurried to get to my feet and tried to find something to confirm my hunches. Then, I saw the water surrounding me. I could see the little rocks underneath my feet. It was not soiling the water that I was able to see my own reflection.

I blinked many times. I even touched 'her' cheek. "Amarantha?" I called her name. But unfortunately, I hadn't received an answer. No one was there around me. Not a single living soul.

I tried to concentrate. Maybe I was just taking over her body and she was just sleeping.
