Chapter 60: Nottingham's Grand Ball

Amarantha's POV

Violin rhythm. Cascading melodies were equally familiar to my ears. They all invaded my ears the moment I set foot in the large hall. There was a grand staircase at the end of the hall. Two long tables with buffet courses.

I missed this kind of life. I once had a glimpse of this lifestyle before. I remembered well when my father took me to a grand ball. It was a prominent gathering that rich men and women could attend.

I was stunned at that moment. I removed the glistered mask from my face and take a full view of the grand hall. Many humans are inside it. Most of them were well-known people all over Europe.

My jaw dropped when I recognized a few.

"I-is that Johanne Debarge? The great painter in Europe?" I gasped and covered my mouth.

I even saw a few of Europe's officials. Some of them are happy and extravagantly brazen like there was never a war going on all over the continent.

I frowned a bit and just focused on the dress I now wore.
