Liberation Day

My hands were clenched tightly. Anger overcame me when I saw Thalia's adoring gaze on my husbands. She should have guessed that the men around me were my husbands.

The look in her eyes was so disrespectful!

"Ms. Everhart?" I called with a low intonation.

She turned her head, but when our gazes met, she immediately shrank and looked down. Her fingers moved restlessly.

"Sorry, I'm sorry," she said softly. She was like a little girl shrinking from being scolded by her parents.

I rubbed my face roughly. I looked like the bad guy here.

"It's not like that. I had no intention of scolding you. I just wanted to tell you that you can sit on a chair. Not on the cold floor," I said at last. Compassion took hold of my heart again.

"Is that okay?" she asked with a happy twinkle in her eye. When I nodded my head, she hurried to sit on the sofa.

"Thanks, it's comfortable," she said with an innocent face.
