"Is the food bad?"

I straightened my gaze to look at Zephyr. A stiff smile rose on my lips as I shook my head.

"No, the food is good."

"Tell me the real reason. You only ate a few bites of steak and even now that dessert has been served, you're just looking at them and daydreaming. Shouldn't there be an explanation for your uncharacteristic behavior?" Zacharias looked at me carefully, as if he wanted to extract information through our gaze.

Zaire put down the fork in his hand. "You're not okay. Is the reason related to the investigation of the rogue's residence yesterday?"

I lowered my gaze. After closing my eyes for a while, I returned with a sweet smile. My frantic thoughts began to organize themselves neatly.

"Right, my decreased appetite is related to yesterday's investigation."

"Now, it's my turn to ask. When are you going to give me the document containing my family's death?"
