 Chap-94*A Miracle, indeed*

I have heard that giving birth is like having transitions back to back for hours, but I didn’t know it would be so painful when I am a human. My body went through all sorts of pain but Aramis stayed beside me, holding my hand.

There were moments when his eyes would pop out in fright or maybe this was the moment I close my eyes and never open them again. Even when I blinked and kept my eyes closed for more than a few seconds, I would hear him whisper my name like a plea and when I would respond to him by opening my eyes, he would smile in relief.

It took me hours to deliver the babies but it seemed worth it. What confused me was the fact that I thought I will be dead the instant the babies are out of my body but that didn’t happen.

“They are so pretty,” I exclaimed in happiness when Aramis let me hold my daughter and held the son while adjusting beside me.

“I want to hold her,” he insisted like a child, demanding that I give him the daughter now.
