KILLIAN’S POV Smoke! The whole staircase was fuming up. Judging from the direction in which the smoke was coming out, the source was upstairs. I scooted up the stairs, moving past the thick cloud of smoke. But just then, I noticed it wasn’t actually smoke as it wasn’t choking my nostrils. From the way it felt on my skin, it was steam. But what could be producing this much steam? What was happening? Immediately I got past the cloud of steam and got some field of vision, I saw the door of Erika’s room partly open, and all the steam flying out from there. Shit! I ran at full tilt to cover the short distance between her room and the corridor. I swung the door fully open, and luckily for me, the smoke wasn’t as thick in there as it was outside. “Erika!” I called out her name. “Erika!” But no response came from her. Instead, I heard the sound of running water from the bathroom. She was there, no doubt! Quickly, I ran into the bathroom and met Erika with her hands dipped into the sink
KILLIAN’S POV “How do you expect her to help you when you told her not to come again?” “Since Erika is her cousin… I mean, niece, then she has to prove it by helping her,” I said to Elder Paul. A frown came up his face. “Why not be humble and apologize to her, Killian? It was embarrassing to her when you dismissed her like she was an idiot,” Elder Paul told me. “I’m not apologizing to a witch,” I declared. “Then that makes you nothing but a child and leader who sets a wrong example to his followers,” Elder Paul scolded. “Are you two young to understand that all witches are not the same? Would you like it that someone from another species judged you based on what Sloane did?” “No, but…” “There are no ‘buts’ there. If you don’t like it done to you, then don’t do it to another!” He sounded. “Alright, alright. Tell her I said that I’m sorry,” I creased my face in annoyance. “No. I’ll bring her over here and you’ll apologize by yourself,” he said. “You’re making this hard for me
ERIKA'S POV I opened my eyes and found myself locked in a cage within the walls of a small room. I looked around and there was no one else, except Sandra who sat before me, watching me like she had been waiting for me to wake up. "What am I doing in a cage, Sandra?" I asked her as she sat on the plastic chair that faced the cage directly. She looked at me with a pitiful expression all over her face. "Your powers are going out of control, Erika. And this is for the best. You're here so you don't hurt those you love," she said. "How can I hurt them if I love them? I'm okay. I need to get out of here. It's making me so uncomfortable," I said, pulling and shaking the chains that held my limbs with every ounce of force in me. The shackles clanked against each other, making deafening metallic sounds. Sandra shook her head with pity, "You may not know it, but you almost strangled Alpha Killian to death." I paused, then slowly shook my head with doubt. "No... There's no way I'd possib
KILLIAN'S POV Ciro had gone to the human world to bring the student wolves back to the pack. Their school had gone on a long vacation for the academic year. They were usually excited whenever it was time for a vacation because they only got to visit the pack once a year and the transformation-restricting charms placed on them got to be removed. But first, they had to be taken to the temple of the moon goddess where the priest would perform some purification rites on them. Erika had returned to the house and had been in her room waiting for me. She was mad at me for locking her up in the dungeon like a fugitive, and not visiting her for those few days she was inside there. In the evening, when I had rounded up my emails and had nothing else to do from my computer, I went to Erika's room to make up for my actions that annoyed her. "Hey babe," I said to him immediately as I walked into the room. "What are you doing here?" She pursed her lips, "after abandoning me for days." She wa
ERIKA'S POVAfter the last thrust, Killian and I were back in the shower to clean our bodies. As the water drizzled down our bodies, he held me close, raising my face to look into his. I noticed a worried look on his face and asked, "What is wrong, my Alpha?""I get this feeling that things could go South from this point forward," he said, "but whatever happens, we have to stay strong. It's a duty we don't have to run from."I couldn't understand what he actually meant because I could tell that the meaning of those words wasn't what they appeared to be. But I nodded in agreement, knowing that he was the kind of man to let me know when things were getting messed up between us. In the evening, Benita and Stacey visited my room. I was so excited to see them. I jumped at them with a hug immediately they came into my room, and the next moment we found ourselves on the bed.We began to talk about how life had been on our individual sides. Stacey told me about some letters from Milca and Ch
KILLIAN'S POVAri walked into the house with fast gaits like a soldier, coming to an abrupt stop when she reached me.Her face and arms were sweaty as she breathed fast."What's the matter?" I asked. She stretched out her right hand, her palm folded up. Opening up her palm, I saw a gray flash drive. I glanced up at her and then again at the flash drive before picking it up."What's inside?" I asked."A footage that you need to watch," she answered.I slid the flash drive into my pocket. "I'll make sure I watch it," I promised."It's not about promising that you'll watch it. It's something you have to watch," she sounded serious."Come with me," I said to her, turning around and walking in the direction of my room. She strolled behind me, her gaits audible to my ears.We got to my room. I pulled out the wooden chair at my desk and sat immediately while she bent over my shoulder watching as I turned on my laptop.I slid the flash drive into the USB port and entered a security password
ERIKA'S POVMy hair blew all the way back and I opened my eyes to see myself before a magnificent gate.I looked to my right and saw Elder Paul bent down, catching his breath. Amelia was by my left, excited about the quick transportation."Woohoo! We're here baby!"For a woman older than my mother, she was quite energetic."Where are we?" I asked in between catching my breath."Home," she said, smiling. "Let's go in."She led the way and Elder Paul followed. I was hesitant, but I moved when I saw Elder Paul move. Killian had made the right choice sending him with us, cause I wasn't sure I'd have moved ahead if he hadn't taken a step."Welcome to the Canary Witches coven," Amelia said as she bounced in.Just then, I heard a voice booming from afar. "Erika!"Who was that? The next thing I saw, Cassie, the girl I had met on the train, came running toward me with her arms spread wide."Erika!" "Cassie?" I gasped before she jumped at me with a hug.I caught her and hugged her back. Good t
ERIKA'S POVCassie was vibrant and full of energy. And it seemed she had inherited that trait from her mother, Amelia. It was a similarity between them, yet there was a big difference I was curious about. Cassie's hair was pure white, while Amelia's was matte black. So, how could they be mother and child?Cassie was showing me around the perimeter of the priestess' temple when I decided to ask her about it."Oh," she laughed. "I get that a lot. Character-wise I'm just like my mom. But when it comes to my physical appearance, I took the traits of my dad.""Where's he?" I asked. She bent her head low immediately, and I knew exactly that I had asked the wrong question."He died in battle," she said with a sad smile, "he was an elf. A handsome man who I still regret why I always complained about him not spending much time with me like mummy did.""Hey, don't say that, okay? I don't think he'll be happy hearing that you're living in regret," I said to her."You're not the first to tell me
ERIKA'S POV"This is the last baby, Luna Erika! Push!""Push!" "Push!"I swallowed hard and bit back tears as the nurses encouraged me to push out my last baby. I could feel my whole body getting numb already.Childbirth was really painful. I was still hurting from the expansion of my uterus during the first push. But there was still one more to go.However, the majority of my pain came from the things I sensed happening outside."Concentrate on pushing!" The doctor tapped me when he noticed my senses were detecting things happening outside.Soon, the head of the last baby had come out and the doctor was gently pulling him out."Yes! Almost there!" He shouted, "Keep going! Keep going!"A loud cry left my mouth and I squeezed every last ounce of strength in me and pushed out my last baby."Yay!" The doctor cried. The whole hospital became a parade of joy amidst the battle going on. I fell back on the pillow and listlessly watched everyone as they cheered and danced. I thought I'd hav
KILLIAN'S POVThe Sloane before my eyes was nothing like the Sloane I knew. Even my wolf, Alek, could sense it."This is a bad idea, Killian," my wolf growled. But that wasn't the point where I'd care about it being a bad idea or not. I'd sworn on my life that not a single pregnant lady would get harmed. It didn't matter if the rest of us would die."I'd advise you shift immediately because you won't be able to scratch me with your human form," Sloane said to me.I smirked nervously."Don't get cocky! Sloane!" I yelled, rushing at him in my human form.I leapt into the air and came at him with a heavy punch. But the moment I swung my punch, Sloane had vanished from where he stood. My eyes widened in shock."Killian, behind you!" Ciro shouted.I turned around in midair and Sloane was coming at me. Quickly, I ducked left and barely managed to dodge his punch. But he grazed my cheek before I could completely dodge."Focus on your battle, Ciro!" I roared at him, "I'll send this bastard ba
ERIKA'S POVThree months had passed after the battle with Aldres. The petition had been filed against the Congress and presented before every region of the supernatural world. Thus, the Congress became careful with their actions. The barrier had remained on since that day I set it up. It constantly drained my energy, but I barely got engaged in activities, so I didn't worry about it.Killian brought my food to the bed. He'd take me to the bathroom whenever I needed to use it. Whether I wanted to bathe or poop, he'd assist me.The doctor visited more frequently than usual. All the pregnant women were almost due. We had less than two weeks to give birth. But some of us had gone into labour already. More doctors were brought from But for the past three weeks, there had been news of constant killing and kidnapping in the supernatural world. Due to that, and added to the fact that my pregnancy was almost due, Killian stayed back in the pack more often than usual. He postponed every meetin
KILLIAN’S POV“Don’t tell me you’re so weak, Alpha Killian. What was all that hype from the Congress about you? Look whom they told me to be careful while fighting,” Aldres spat. I could barely see with my eyes as I lay on the warm floor after receiving countless blows from the vampire.“Stand up,” he said to me, “stand up and fight! I want to give you an honorable end!”I staggered up and spat blood out of my mouth. My spine had shifted when Aldres dropped me from the sky, but I was able to squeeze it back in form when he was punching me on the floor.I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes shut, concentrating blood on the nerves of my ears, making my hearing ten times sharper. I needed to last longer in this battle so as to buy the pack enough time to escape. With my sense super-heightened now, I suddenly sense Erika in the house. What was she doing there? But my panic eased a bit when I sensed Trevor’s presence there as well. Whatever they were doing there, they needed to be fa
ERIKA’S POVThe battle between Killian and the Vampire Lord had begun after Killian saved Edward from his head being blasted away by the vampire Lord. The vampire looked like he was still in shape like it had taken him nothing to beat Edward Blue and Black. In the first few seconds of their battle, they were evenly matched. Killian was even able to land two blows on the vampire lord.“Your moves aren’t as fast as they should. What’s wrong?” Killian asked him after landing the second blow.“Who’s going to go down first?” Lord Aldres said to him with a smile.Killian shook his head, “I overestimated you vampires.”With that, he launched himself at the vampire lord with full force and landed him with a kick. But Aldres was able to catch that kick with his arms.“Not quite heavy,” he smirked.Wing emerged from his back immediately and he flew into the air dragging Killian by the legs. Ascending to a very high altitude, he let go of Killian, and Killian came falling from the sky.Aldrs had
KILLIAN'S POVAfter making out with Erika, I slept soundly that night. But when I woke up the next morning, I had a whim that something was not right. The soldiers who had been on watch the previous night hadn't alerted me of any enemy presence. But inwardly, I kept feeling like the enemy had already come.I stood up from the bed and walked to the wardrobe, pulling out a black shirt and black trousers. I looked back at the bed, Erika was still fast asleep. Dressed up, I gently opened the room door and sneaked out of the room. My plan was to go to the outskirts of the pack and wait there for the Vampire Lord's arrival. If the battle commenced there, that'd give my pack enough time to make the escape preparations. However, when I stepped outside of the house, I sensed someone's pain come over and over again. It suddenly flashed through my mind that the pain I sensed was Edward's. It was then that I realized that the Vampire Lord had already arrived and Edward was doing the exact same
ERIKA'S POVThe next day was going to be the day that the Vampire Lord would come to battle Killian. The Elders knew nothing about this. Killian had found it difficult to rest throughout the day.In the evening, Killian went to the bar and kept drinking until I sent a servant to tell him that I needed his attention at home.He came back home, half drunk, his hair messy and his mouth reeking of liquor as he spoke."What are you doing, drinking when there's a battle to face tomorrow?" I asked him, "Is that what we should be doing by now?""Is it wrong to drink my last wine?" Killian countered my question with his own."Not actually. But you're overdoing it. What if the enemy shows up before then?" I asked worriedly."Aldres is a man of his words. He won't even come close to the perimeters of this area until tomorrow," Killian said, sounding so sure of someone whom h barely knew anything about."Please, there are better things we could do now," I beckoned on him."Like what? Pray to the
ERIKA'S POVThat night, Amiel visited me in my dream. She summoned me to the top of a rocky hill that had water running out from every rock on it. We sat on two rocks, discussing, while water rushed below our feet. The sound of the running water became somewhat of a distraction. Amiel waved her palm over the water and every drop froze where they were. Even the tiniest drops in the air froze and hung there."Wow," I gasped softly, "you're amazing.""Thank you," she said with a chivalrous smile."So, what happened with the mermaid queen?" I asked her.She giggled softly, "We no longer fought.""Ah... Why?""She submitted. We were two and she was all alone," Amiel said."I heard the mermaid queen is very powerful. I heard she controls the whole ocean," I said to Amiel."No. She's not that powerful. She doesn't even rule the whole ocean," Amiel said. "There are other beings in the water whom she is terrified of. And that's why she seeks more power.""Hmm... Really," I said. "So, would yo
KILLIAN'S POV I took to my feet immediately, rushing back to the house. I only knew little about pregnancy, but I had kept an accurate record of how long she had been pregnant. It was just six months. Was it normal for the baby in the womb to start moving? I couldn't tell for sure. But her voice seemed disturbed. When I got to the house, I barged into the room to see Erika's belly bulging up and down."What is this?" I gasped. It looked so outrageous like the baby was kicking her from inside. But what was more outrageous was that Erika wasn't feeling any pain from that."He's talking, but I can't hear him," Erika said to me. How did she know it was a "he"?"I think his Father will be the one to understand him," she said to me.Curiously, I walked closer to the bed and placed my ear on Erika's belly listening."Father, you're in danger!" A shriek flew into my ears.I shuddered back immediately, falling on the floor. That was when the kick suddenly quieted down."What happened?" Erika
