Chapter 28

Saying goodbye was the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life. Evie noticed I was silently crying, but she didn’t ask questions. Somehow I feel that Jerry and her knew Ivan was here to see me.

I’m glad though, I couldn’t complain because I got to see him. I don’t know how long I’ll be gone, but it was for the best. Soon he will find his mate and I will find mine too.

“Evie…” I said sadly. “Do you think you could catch a ride with Jacob tomorrow? I’m not going to school tomorrow. My parents want me to stay home.”

“Sure Natie. I can ask Jacob. He’ll be thrilled though Jerry won’t be.” She giggled.

“Is everything okay? I saw Ivan leaving your car.”

I side-eyed her and she got nervous. “Yes. Oh, I’m sure you did.” I said, smiling and shaking my head.

It was 1:30 in the morning. My alarm was going off to ‘Somewhere I Belong by Linkin Park.’ I packed a large duffle bag with clothes and two pairs of shoes.
