(Chase’s POV)
My head felt like I had gone ten rounds with an angry elephant, and he had won. I was so exhausted after that spell and was doing what I could to keep awake.
“Is there a difference between witches and sorcerers?” I asked, “like don’t they all just do magic and shit?” Isabella looked at me like I would look at a child who said something cute.
“Yeah, they both do magic, but the magic is different. It comes from a different place,” she explained. “A witch’s magic comes from the base five elements: earth, air, fire, water and spirit and we normally have an affinity for just one of those. Like for me, I work well with fire,” and she held her left hand up and a small fireball appeared, “But a sorcerer’s magic, that work
(Chase’s POV)“Come on Ivy, just pass her the phone,” I pleaded. We were back in the kitchen and Isabella was pulling out different ancient looking books and frantically searching through them. Jensen seemed lost in thought, so I took the time to try to get through to Kaeleigh again. Her phone was still not connecting, so I phoned my sister.“I told you Chase,” Ivy said “She won’t come to the phone,” and then she whispered, “She is adamant that you are going to reject her. I don’t know what to do.”“I’m not going to reject her, I never would,” I couldn’t even imagine life without Kaeleigh, “Please tell her I love her,” and we ended the call.I was eager to ge
(Jensen’s POV)I sat at the table in the kitchen watching Isabella. She had what looked like a hundred books around her as well as several large sheets of paper, highlighters and post-it notes. Every available wall space was covered in more sheets of paper, with writing and drawings all over them. Isabella was muttering away to herself and furiously writing things down.“The best I can see is that that cage is some sort of protection spell, maybe,” she mused, “but I can’t seem to get a grasp on this lock.” she looked at another picture that Celeste had drawn. It was a closeup of the cage with particular detail to the lock. It was a circle with a keyhole in the centre but had several lines coming off it, twelve to be exact, and the lines led to smaller keyholes in different shapes.
**** Trigger Warning **** The following chapter contains content of a distressing nature. Details of sexual and physical assault are included in the chapter.(Kaeleigh’s POV)I had been curled up in the corner of my cell for I don’t know how long. It was cold, dark, and damp. There was a mattress on the other side of the room but you didn’t have to be a werewolf to smell the dried up fluids on it. There was no way I was touching that. I’d rather stick to the hard cement floor. The whole room reeked of blood and sex. I highly doubt it being consensual. The only light came in from the window in the solid metal door, but I was betting that the whole room was covered in stains of sins and pain. On the back wall opposite the door, and bolted into the wall were a set of thick heavy chains that confirmed that unthinkable horrors went on right h
**** Trigger Warning **** The following chapter contains content of a distressing nature. Details of sexual and physical assault are included in the chapter.(Kaeleigh’s POV)I strained away from the knife. I didn’t know if it was real silver, but I was betting it was. Silver was deadly to werewolves. It slowed the healing process and cut off access to your wolf. I had never touched it before, knowing the effects that it had on werewolves, but was told that it stung the skin, causing more damage than just the cut from the knife would do on its own.“I would have liked to spend some time with you,” Asher smirked as he lightly ran the tip of the knife down the front of my torso, “and you never know, it could still be arranged.” He looked down as he grazed the knife lightly on
(Chase POV)I stormed into the living room, straight up to my dad, and punched him. He went flying to the floor, and I picked him up and threw him across the room. It wasn’t enough. I advanced on him as he laid in a heap on the floor. He just looked at me, made no move to defend himself as I laid into him, punching him over and over.“I TOLD YOU!” I roared. "Why did you not listen?” I could hear screaming, and could feel people trying to drag me away, but all I was really interested in was the fury that was coursing through my veins.I vaguely felt something sharp in my neck and I started to feel dizzy. Some bastard had drugged me. I tried to see who it was, but the drug took over and the last thing I remembered was knocking my head on one of the shelves before I crashed to the floor and into
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I snapped my eyes open. I could sense as soon as I woke up that I was in an unfamiliar place. I sat up in the bed I was in and looked round the room. It was a large room with crisp white furniture and decor in various shades of grey and silver. Other than the large bed that I was in, there was a pair of bucket chairs with silver framing and a deep grey velvet upholstery, and a matching sofa to the other side of the bed but that was facing a large TV. There was a white coffee table and the bedside tables were white with silver look edges and a matching console table against the wall with the TV on. The bed faced a large picture window that had sweeping grey velvet curtains that trailed the floor. The Bed was against a half wall and on the other side was a large white desk and a chair that matched the other chairs. There were three doors, o
(Kaeleigh’s POV)“Our what?” I exclaimed. Asher smirked at me.“The official announcement will be next weekend,” he said, and I stared at him in disbelief. “And then once we are mated and marked you will be announced as Luna,” he said like we were having some actual conversation “of course first you will need to renounce that good-for-nothing pack and swear loyalty to me as your Alpha.” I laughed out loud.“Are you on drugs?” I was genuinely curious about his answer, “because if you think that any of this is going to happen, then there really must be some sort of chemical imbalance going on in your head.” There was a chuckle behind me and I was surprised to see Jonathan, I mean Adam, standing by the door. I didn’t even he
(Chase’s POV)I woke up surrounded by her scent and, for a second; I smiled. Until I opened my eyes and found myself in Kaeleigh’s bed alone. Her scent was getting fainter every day. But I had spent last night in her bed again, needing her scent to help me settle my mind long enough for sleep. I glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table and the time told me that I had needed sleep. It was almost 10am and the recon team was due back by now. I jumped out of bed and grabbed a quick shower, before making my way downstairs to the conference room/ I was stopped on my way in by my mum who was trying to insist I had breakfast, but I needed to get up to date. I relinquished enough to take the bacon sandwich she was waving in front of my nose, but took it into the conference room with me.I walked in

(Kaeleigh’s POV)*** Two Weeks Later ***I stood on the stage at the former Dark Moon and now Dark Circle pack territory and looked out across the crowd. I felt warmth rush through me as Chase squeezed my hand beside me as we waited for the crowd to quiet down. The crowd was a mix of werewolves, witches and hybrids, although the latter were massively outnumbered by the first two. The last two weeks had been crazy busy as we worked to create some sort of order in everything. The battle had ended in our favour, but we still had losses. I had been upset to learn from Jensen that Zack’s mate had been expecting and watching as she received the news that she had already felt was heart wrenching. I had been told that the death of her mate had sent her into shock. This wasn’t uncommon, as the separat
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I clung to Adam as I screamed for help. There was blood everywhere, and his eyes were fluttering. Dayna was crying.“Why can’t I do anything?” she screamed. “Adam I mean it, don’t you dare die on me, not when I have just told you I love you.” I looked up at her in shock and she looked at me, tears streaming.“Kaeleigh, tell him he can’t die. We agreed. We are choosing each other as mates. He has to live.” She shook Adam as his eyes closed. “Kaeleigh, order him, please,” I shook my head and looked down at Adam in my arms.“Why did you do something as stupid as that?” I cried at him and his eyelids fluttered open again. He looked up and smiled.
(Asher’s POV)“Well, look what we have here,” I snarled as I walked into the clearing. “If it isn’t my not so loyal Beta.” I had seen Cade just as he had snapped the neck of that imbecile Fischer. As I got closer, I saw him holding his mate. I watched them as he comforted her. He was so gentle and caring. Before her, Cade had been a different sort. He had always been ready for a good time with the supply of Omegas that we kept around and I could pinpoint to the day that he had met his mate. Everything changed. He stopped drinking as much, stopped going out. He disappeared on weekends on private business.I got why. A fated mate is an awful weapon in the wrong hands and my father had taken a dislike to Cade pretty much after his own father had left the pack. If my father had known that Cade had found his mate, he would h
(Zoey’s POV)“I gotta go,” I hissed, watching the blond streaks as they flashed through the woods. “I got a score to settle.” I started walking towards the last place that I saw the bleached blond trash. I could feel Cade’s presence behind me. I wasn’t sure whether he was there to protect me or to protect her at this point.I woke up crying almost every night after reoccurring dreams about what she did. Dreams that repeated over me held in silver chains and her smirking face as she… I shuddered at the thought of it. I had never been so violated before in my life. I still struggled with intimacy with Cade. The irony of the fact that for the first time in almost five years I could be open and not hide my love for my mate and yet I couldn’t stand to be touched by him. Cade had tried to talk to me about w
(Jensen’s POV)“My Hero,” Tatum grinned at me, and I couldn’t help but grin back.“Yeah, well, let’s not need that anymore,” I said as I helped her to a sitting position.“What about Jeremy?” Tatum asked and Elaina called over from where she was sitting next to the unconscious wolf.“He’s gonna be fine. It’ll take some healing, but werewolves do that quickly.” I looked at Tatum, who looked relieved.“Where’s Luke?” Tatum asked, looking around.“Your brother is as silly as you are,” the other witch, who I was unfamiliar with, said, glaring at the entrance to the n
(Tatum’s POV)I rushed into the entrance of the nook where I could see the evidence of magic flying around everywhere. I knew Jade and Luke were close behind. I surveyed the area and saw Chase on the ground next to a big black wolf and a woman with jet black hair. The woman was tending to the wolf as he laid on the floor, panting. At the other end of the nook I could see the redhead witch Isabella and my mum. There was a redheaded man standing between me and them and from the magic he was using, I could tell he was a sorcerer. I glanced at Luke, who nodded and he cast a slow down spell. While he did that, I felt for my new-found powers and sent out energy, or whatever it was, to the surrounding trees asking them for help. I felt the connection and began to bend the trees to my will.Jade appeared as well as Jeremy and I grinned. The sorcerer, on the
(Kaeleigh’s POV)“ATTACK!”I watched as thousands of bodies appeared from the surrounding area, some in human form, some in wolf. They reached the outer edges of the town in a matter of seconds, so they must have been in the immediate area and the woods surrounding. I drew my eyes back to Asher who was watching me with an intense look. He smirked as his eyes found mine and then pulled his shirt to reveal the mark again.I rolled my eyes before closing them and blocking everything and everyone around me out. I envisioned my army of wolves, the symbol of my Alpha power and the reason I would never bow to anyone. I pulled the energy from that power and pulled it in tight. The tension alone was enough to make me feel like I was going to burst. I opened my eyes, knowing that right now they shone g
(Kaeleigh’s POV)Three hours later, a now mobile and newly sealed Cade was sitting on the sofa in the living room with Zoey on his knee and I was inspecting Tatum’s wrist. She and Jensen had emerged from his room a few minutes before and Tatum was jumping around excitedly. They had completed the bond last night and through the night Tatum had completed the transition into a Hybrid, much in the same way as Chase had with me. I looked at the pattern that had formed on her wrist and saw it was an extension of Jensen’s pattern. I smiled. I still didn’t know how everything worked, but I was loving finding out.“Oh, and watch,” Tatum said, suddenly very excited. She turned and looked around and then focused on a dying houseplant that a scowling Luke was standing by. She walked over and placed her hand on the soil and, slowly
