She tried to free her arm but his hold was too lethal, promising to leave a bruise.
His rich cologne and that earthy scent reaches her nose. It was nice and alluring but he was anything but that.
"Let go. You're hurting me," She said, trying to free her arm but he didn't free her.
She was trembling like a leaf and the quivers intensified when he took a step closer, his body brushing against hers as she flinched back. Her shoulders were hunched and tears brimmed her eyes. She was terrified out of her wits as the girl chewed on her bottom lip so as not to let the whimpers out.
What if her crying triggered him and he ended up hurting her more?
The way her lower lip quivered as her lashes fluttered in pain with tears hanging at the brim of her lower lashes finally slid down her cheek followed by another then another as she bit on her lip hard avoiding his gaze.
Hunter knew then and there that she was hiding something.
Hunter was known well for his instincts. He believes whatever his guts tell him and at that moment he was damn sure she was hiding something.
Hunter could've been lenient but he couldn't because it wasn't just about anybody. It was about that f*cker Alonso who attacked Rasmus, abducted Catherine -tried to kill her baby, and would've gotten her marked by his f*cking goon if they hadn't reached on time.
Alonso had messed with Rasmus. In no f*ckin way, Hunter would let go of something that could help him capture that f*cker.
She sniffed like a baby. His eyes skidded over to his hand that was grabbing her arm. His hold was tight for sure but her arm was so delicate, he could crush her bones in a blink. His gaze burned over her small fragile hand. Her dainty fingers tried to remove his ruthless hold.
She was too delicate and fragile.
Until now she hasn't said a word so force might not work on her. And she seemed pretty calm with swallowing down the pain.
Hunter let her go as he rubbed and touched his forehead, his other hand resting on his hip. He let out his breath in a whoosh and she watched him petrified knowing she had pissed him off and now he would hurt her.
He gave his back to her and she had this immense urge to run out of the room. Her trembling hand grabbed the doorknob but before she could even turn it he turned around and she jolted away from the doorknob.
He was surprised by the immense amount of fear dancing in her eyes. Perhaps she was afraid that he would hurt her. Which means she was ready for stage two.
"I'm sorry," He breathed rubbing a hand down his face as if he couldn't believe what he had just done.
Silvia stilled in her place as she threw him a panicked gape. Did he just apologize?
"Please sit down first," He said, moving away.
Silvia made no move to sit as she rubbed her arm which was throbbing now. She was sure it was bruised.
Hunter sighed as he grabbed her hand in his big one causing her to jump in shock but he was already dragging her to the middle of the room before he made her sit on the couch.
Her eyes widened to such an extent they were ready to pop out of her sockets because he had crouched down in front of her on the floor with both of his hands on either side of her hips on the couch.
He smirked internally at her reaction but maintained a face as if he was guilty.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have hurt you like this," He said and she sat there like a stone.
No man has ever crouched in front of her like this, looking up at her with guilt as if he was regretting hurting her. It was new and overwhelming. It almost felt like she had the power, let it be for the tiniest second.
"I didn't intend to be so rough. I just. Alonso has hurt my family and I can't be at peace when he is roaming around freely," He said observing every flutter of her eye like a hawk. Her every breath and even the movements of her fingers, he noticed them all.
She lowered her gaze as she wriggled her fingers.
All the bastards he had killed until now who pretended they weren't lying were exactly lying. It was always Hunter's instinct to find out. And when he would take them to the edge of death, they would spit the truth out.
And now looking at this girl trembling like a leaf and avoiding his gaze. It was obvious she was lying.
But what could she be hiding? Perhaps Alonso sent her here to get information or to kill someone. It could be many f*ckin things. And she with that oh-so-innocent face. No one would believe she could do something like that. And such innocent faces could be used as the best weapons.
"I need your help. I want you to tell me everything so I could capture him," Hunter said, inching closer to meet her gaze but she ducked her head even more to avoid eye lock.
"I don't know anything. H... He ran away," She said with mustered-up courage.
Hunter noticed the shivering of her hands. He wondered if it was his proximity affecting her or the fear.
Cupping her chin he redirected her gaze on him but she abruptly pulled to her feet forcing him to stand as well. As soon as he stood up she was swamped by his tall intimidating body hovering over her.
"I want to leave," She said.
"You're lying," He hissed in a low voice and her eyes snapped up.
What was this man? One minute he was ruthless, the next kind, and then again menacing.
Her heart stuttered in her chest when those glacier eyes drilled daggers into her profile. Before he could do anything.
The door opened and Rasmus stood there. His eyes narrowed seeing tears on her cheeks as he glared at his brother stomping inside.
"Go Silvia, Clarke is waiting for you. Wipe your tears," Rasmus said and the girl didn't wait a single second before scurrying out of there.
Hunter wondered why didn't 'she use magic on him to get away.
"I don't trust her," Hunter said.
"We already heard the statement from the three of them. It matched. They aren't lying," Rasmus said. "They even want to help us against Alonso," Rasmus sighed.
"She's hiding something," Hunter grumbled.
"Do you have evidence or can you prove it?" Rasmus asked.
"I'll prove it, you just wait and watch. I'm never wrong in reading people," Hunter muttered as he walked out.
Present...
Hunter glared at the cottage before leaving. Silvia would get back once he leaves. But he would make sure to keep an eye on her from now on.
He had to find a shred of evidence against her and prove to everyone what good of a liar she was.
Lennox was grinning. Wide. His eyes twinkled with charm as he gazed at the love of his life donning a white gown and standing in front, hands in hands, eyes locked, smiles reflecting. Violet was the most beautiful thing that ever happened to him. And he needs to f*cking thank Silvia for shoving Violet into his life. She must've had one of her visions so she knew Violet belonged to Lennox. "You may kiss the bride." Lennox snaked his arm around her waist and tugged her to him. Their bodies flushed, his fingers grabbing the nape of her neck as he meshed his lips with hers. He kissed her like it was their last f*cking kiss. Passionate, strong, and claiming. She inclined backward as he hovered over her, holding her captive in his strong arms. He kissed her passionately, sucking in her bottom lip before chasing her lips again. As soon as his tongue plunged into her mouth to caress hers, he was in heaven. She tasted divine, like sweet wine and his eternity combined. They broke th
"Eyes on me." He rumbled that thrummed through her core. She tried to pull back but he grabbed her thighs, spread them wide, and dived down. His tongue darted out and he swiped her wetness. She gasped. Her body reacted strongly to the foreign sensation. "Lennox." She breathed, attempting to push him away but he grabbed her wrists and tugged her closer so that his face was buried in her folds. Her eyes slammed shut feeling his lips, his hot ragged breaths, wet tongue, and skilful mouth. Her body quivered. Her thighs clenching, caving him in. He grabbed her wrists with one hand and with the other he spread her legs wider. His tattooed hand stood out on her creamy white skin. His canines caressed her sensitive skin and she let out a whimper of fear mixed with raw desire that had cocooned her body in its clutches. Her wolf was going wild, fighting to come forward and peek at him to her heart's content. His lips trailed down her inner thigh and a groan of frustration escaped h
"You wanna die, boy?" Lennox asked. His deep voice startled Violet as her skin laced with goosebumps. She didn't dare turn to look at him. The expressions on Kevin's face told her enough. "I... What do you mean, king?" Kevin tried to play it cool. "Don't play dumb. You're flirting with my fiance as if you've plenty of lives to spare. Wanna waste a life or two?" Lennox growled lowly and Kevin stiffened. Angela leaned back in her chair and smirked, crossing her ankles on the table as she stared at Kevin like a winning gangsta. "He's Hunter's best friend. No doubt they do crazy things when they're jealous." Angela said blowing on her nails as if she was drying the non-existent nail polish on her nails. "It was just healthy talking." Kevin tried to cool the raging Lennox down but as soon as the words left his lips, Lennox was on him grabbing his collar as he yanked him to his feet. "Healthy talking. Dare to call her beautiful again and I'm gonna smack your teeth out. So help me God
"Are you planning on staying here?" Violet asked. "Yeah, until I'm a skilled trainer. After that, I'll coax Dad to let me go study in the States. I want to live among humans like a normal person. I'm tired of staying back at the packhouse." She said, Violet sipped her tea. Listening to her attentively. Angela had a few scratches and bruises on her from yesterday's training. She's been training for three days now and was slowly learning Kevin's patterns. She even dodged a few of his punches and kicks but he still did a number on poor Angela. "That's why I'm learning how to fight. So that I could protect myself and Hunter didn't have to send Kevin to the States with me."Violet nodded. Angela was fourteen but she had a strong will and a defiant personality. Violet couldn't help but compare her fourteen-year-old personality with Angela's. She used to be so timid and scared, would always do what she was told and never break any rule while Angela was the opposite. She was fearless, an
Lennox had never loathed himself like this before. Heck, he never regretted any of his actions. He was always satisfied with his choices and decisions. But what had he done to the most important person in his life? He f*cking ruined it. It almost felt like no matter what he'd do he won't ever be able to earn her forgiveness but he was persistent. He stayed close to her. Barely leaving her sight. If she'd sit in the library reading he'd join her and she would avoid him but he didn't care. If she was taking a walk in the garden, he'd stroll behind her. If she'd play games with her sisters he'd bug her until Emily would let him join them. He'd even prepare herbal tea for her. Sometimes she would glare at him and ignore his existence but other times she'd peek glances at him when he wasn't looking. He knew she still loved him. But she wasn't letting herself forgive him. The walls around her heart were too solid and he was the reason behind it but he knew she'll forgive him one
"You never betrayed me, Violet. I found out the truth. I... I didn't trust you, I'm f*cking sorry. You loved me all along and I f*cked up, I've hurt you, please, I'm sorry.""Doesn't matter."Lennox felt pressure behind his eyes as he dropped to his knees in front of her. She didn't even move or blink. Her eyes were fixed on him but her expressions remained the same. Blank. Indifferent. He hated it. It f*cking guts him. "Tell me what to do. I'll do it. I'll beg you for forgiveness but don't give me this cold shoulder please." His deep voice sounded pleading. Violet swallowed thickly. Her resolve was on the verge of breaking upon witnessing him like this. Without uttering a word she tried to walk past him but he circled her wrist, stopping her. "Violet-""I'm tired," She whispered in a small voice, and just like that his hold loosened and he let her go. She left his room and he sat there on the floor for some time before he pulled to his feet and tossed his weight on the bed.
