Olivia POV

“Why?” Grim asked as he strides to my side; his scent immediately filled my nostrils.

The woman raised an eyebrow at Grim. “I want to talk to her; can’t I have a conversation with the people who killed my daughter?” She asked, her tone laced with calm anger.

A glint of guilt passed over Grim’s eyes. Of course, we were talking about his mate. I don’t expect him to protect me. Protect? This was the man who said he would make me live in mystery.

He shrugged. “Well, she is my mate, Magana. Don’t worry, I will give her a good punishment. She is not going to go scot-free,” he promised.

She tilted her head and smiled at him. “I don’t want to punish her,” Grim said. I just want to ask her some questions," she replied in a sharp tone.

Grim took a step toward her, standing in front. “Tell me whatever you want to ask her, and I will ask her on your behalf.”
