Chapter Two

Olivia POV.

“What was that?” Lia asked immediately as I stepped out.

She must have heard a lot. “How long were you standing there?” I ignored her questions.

“Long enough to know that you called your sister a whore and your father a dickhead.”

I shrugged. “Well, you came late. You would have been there when my father said I was useless, when my sister said I am not part of the family, and when my mother called me a by-product. All because I told them I am getting married to Conrad,” I replied as I climbed my bike.

A gasp escaped her lip; she watched me for a while before climbing her own. She had packed her bike close to mine.

“I'm sorry about that; I can talk to them to accept him,” she said as she wore her helmet.

I shook my head. “No need,” I said with finality in my tone.

Immediately we were done; we drove straight to the palace. In the midst of all this commotion, I was thankful to the moon goddess for one reason, and that was Lilia.

She had stood by me even after she found out that I was an omega. She did not care. She even fought for me when they tried to bully me. Perhaps she knew what it felt like to be alone considering the fact that she was an orphan.

Immediately we got to the palace; we parked and walked towards the Alpha Killian office. Conrad and two other members were already there waiting for me. Conrad winked at me immediately he saw me. I returned with a smile, although I was sure my cheeks would be red by now.

Our Beta stood beside him, whispering something to his ears. After a while, he turned towards us.

“I am sure you don't know the reason I called you,” he began watching faces.

We remained silent, carrying a blank face void of any emotions.

"No, sir,” we answered.

He nodded. “We all know what transpired between us and the lark pack. If you can recall, they attacked us because one of our men killed the mate of one of his sons. In retaliation, he attacked us, but we fought hard and even killed the Alpha, but those twats snuck people into our pack, killed my uncle, and took my sister, and this was all headed by Dean. Grim, his elder brother, is not aware of this. Now Dean wants to get married to my sister as a payment for his dead mate, but I would not allow that. I need you to go to the back and kill them,” he ordered.

We looked at each other; dread crept into my skin. The Lark Pack was a different pack from ours and much more powerful; in fact, they defeated us in the last war. We just killed more royals than they did.

Conrad cleared his throat. “But we are just five"

A smile tugged Alpha Killian's lip. “I know. They were just the three who came to take my sister away without my consent. So you are going to take those bags. Each of them has your name on them; clothes of your size are inside smeared with the lark pack scent. You would go in as servants and come attack them. Kill them in their sleep and bring my sister back to me,” he ordered sternly.

We nodded and picked up the bags. “You are leaving tonight,” he informed us before dismissing us.

“That bitch!” Lia said immediately we left the Alpha’s palace. “I hope she dies there,” she said.

My eyes widened as I looked around. “Lia, keep quiet. That is treason; you can get killed for it,” I warned.

She shrugged. "Well, they would only find out if you told them, and I am sure you won't.”

“I know. Truly, I wish she would die too. She is so arrogant,” I whispered back.

“Yes. I was so happy when they took her. We have had a stress-free day,” she said as we walked into the room prepared for us.

The night came faster than expected. We wore the clothes given to us and walked towards the boundary of the park. It was already late at night, and we had to be careful. Lark Park was fully guarded with men marching around them.

We lay among the wood for a long time. We would stay there till close to three o'clock, then the guards would be sleepy. We could sneak in and enter.

We lit a little fire to keep ourselves warm. Lia sat close to me, hugging herself. I sat beside Conrad, resting my head against his chest. The other two men sat beside each other; they were much older than us in rank.

“Imagine we get caught?” Lia asked, breaking the silence.

The two elders glared at her, although their eyes screamed fear. The lark wolves were a different type of wolf. I think that was where the originals came from. All royals had white hair.

“We won't lie. We will fight till the end," I assured her.

“Yes, we have three men here; we won't let them get to you, especially Liv,"  Conrad promised with confidence.

My heart warmed at his promise. I was extremely grateful to have someone watch over me.

Lia scoffed. “It's easy to promise whenever you are in love,” she said.

I smiled at her cute jealousy. After a while, I stood up. I had to find somewhere to ease myself.

“Where are you going?” Conrad asked.

“To ease myself"

He immediately sprang up to his feet. “I'm coming with you. It is night you might get attacked,” he said, his voice laced with concern.

I smiled, “I will be fine. Okay, I might be an Omega, but I am a skilled soldier. Just two minutes,” I said and walked away.

After I had walked a short distance, I stopped myself only to step on something hard no, someone.

I immediately brought out my torch and shone on the body. Goosebumps filled my skin as I looked at his face. He had white hair. Meaning he was a royal from the lark park.

Did he come here to kill us? I opened my mouth to scream, but a strong palm covered my mouth. His hard body pressed against my back.

“Shh, don't call anyone. I mean no harm,” he said.

He waited for a while till I nodded. I can't let anyone know he is here. They would kill him.

“Do you have the antidote for wolfsbane? I was shot on my way here. Please help me; I might not make it,” he pleaded.

I had the wolfsbane in my pocket; we carried it each time we left in case we were shot.

Should I give it to him? What if he ended up killing us? He was definitely a royal. His white hair gave him away.

"Please,” he pleaded. His intense blue eyes met mine, and for a moment, I stopped breathing; his musky scent filled my nostrils, sending warmth round my skin. Why was his scent so intense? Maybe because he was from royal blood.

“Please,” he said in a whisper. He was getting weak. Without thinking, I brought out the wolfsbane and gave it to him. Watched as he drank the whole of them.

“What’s your name?” He asked me to give him the bottle.

“It's none of your business,” I said, stretching forth my hands to take the bottle. Knowing my name was risky and useless. We are never going to cross paths again.

A smile tugged at his lips. "Grim,” he said firmly, making me stop. “My name is Grim"

Wait, Grim. Like the bastard son of Lark Park. Grim, I was standing in front of one of the men my Alpha sent me to kill.

Olivia, where are you!”Conrad shouted, drawing me from my thoughts.

I flinched and staggered for a while. I seemed so lost that I did not remember that my boyfriend was waiting for me.

Luckily for me. The wolf bane took time to work. I would immediately tell my friends, and we would walk away.

“Don't tell Dean that you saw me. I would be returning back to my cousin's house before attending our Alpha funeral

Why was he talking to me as if I were his pack member? Can't he see that my scent was different? Then it hit me that my Alpha had given us clothes to hide our scent. He thought I was his park member. No wonder he did not kill me.

Olivia!” Conrad called again.

“I have to go,” I said and staggered away.

“Goodbye, Liv,” he said with a gorgeous smile.
