Olivia POV.
“What was that?” Lia asked immediately as I stepped out. She must have heard a lot. “How long were you standing there?” I ignored her questions. “Long enough to know that you called your sister a whore and your father a dickhead.” I shrugged. “Well, you came late. You would have been there when my father said I was useless, when my sister said I am not part of the family, and when my mother called me a by-product. All because I told them I am getting married to Conrad,” I replied as I climbed my bike. A gasp escaped her lip; she watched me for a while before climbing her own. She had packed her bike close to mine. “I'm sorry about that; I can talk to them to accept him,” she said as she wore her helmet. I shook my head. “No need,” I said with finality in my tone. Immediately we were done; we drove straight to the palace. In the midst of all this commotion, I was thankful to the moon goddess for one reason, and that was Lilia. She had stood by me even after she found out that I was an omega. She did not care. She even fought for me when they tried to bully me. Perhaps she knew what it felt like to be alone considering the fact that she was an orphan. Immediately we got to the palace; we parked and walked towards the Alpha Killian office. Conrad and two other members were already there waiting for me. Conrad winked at me immediately he saw me. I returned with a smile, although I was sure my cheeks would be red by now. Our Beta stood beside him, whispering something to his ears. After a while, he turned towards us. “I am sure you don't know the reason I called you,” he began watching faces. We remained silent, carrying a blank face void of any emotions. "No, sir,” we answered. He nodded. “We all know what transpired between us and the lark pack. If you can recall, they attacked us because one of our men killed the mate of one of his sons. In retaliation, he attacked us, but we fought hard and even killed the Alpha, but those twats snuck people into our pack, killed my uncle, and took my sister, and this was all headed by Dean. Grim, his elder brother, is not aware of this. Now Dean wants to get married to my sister as a payment for his dead mate, but I would not allow that. I need you to go to the back and kill them,” he ordered. We looked at each other; dread crept into my skin. The Lark Pack was a different pack from ours and much more powerful; in fact, they defeated us in the last war. We just killed more royals than they did. Conrad cleared his throat. “But we are just five" A smile tugged Alpha Killian's lip. “I know. They were just the three who came to take my sister away without my consent. So you are going to take those bags. Each of them has your name on them; clothes of your size are inside smeared with the lark pack scent. You would go in as servants and come attack them. Kill them in their sleep and bring my sister back to me,” he ordered sternly. We nodded and picked up the bags. “You are leaving tonight,” he informed us before dismissing us. “That bitch!” Lia said immediately we left the Alpha’s palace. “I hope she dies there,” she said. My eyes widened as I looked around. “Lia, keep quiet. That is treason; you can get killed for it,” I warned. She shrugged. "Well, they would only find out if you told them, and I am sure you won't.” “I know. Truly, I wish she would die too. She is so arrogant,” I whispered back. “Yes. I was so happy when they took her. We have had a stress-free day,” she said as we walked into the room prepared for us. The night came faster than expected. We wore the clothes given to us and walked towards the boundary of the park. It was already late at night, and we had to be careful. Lark Park was fully guarded with men marching around them. We lay among the wood for a long time. We would stay there till close to three o'clock, then the guards would be sleepy. We could sneak in and enter. We lit a little fire to keep ourselves warm. Lia sat close to me, hugging herself. I sat beside Conrad, resting my head against his chest. The other two men sat beside each other; they were much older than us in rank. “Imagine we get caught?” Lia asked, breaking the silence. The two elders glared at her, although their eyes screamed fear. The lark wolves were a different type of wolf. I think that was where the originals came from. All royals had white hair. “We won't lie. We will fight till the end," I assured her. “Yes, we have three men here; we won't let them get to you, especially Liv," Conrad promised with confidence. My heart warmed at his promise. I was extremely grateful to have someone watch over me. Lia scoffed. “It's easy to promise whenever you are in love,” she said. I smiled at her cute jealousy. After a while, I stood up. I had to find somewhere to ease myself. “Where are you going?” Conrad asked. “To ease myself" He immediately sprang up to his feet. “I'm coming with you. It is night you might get attacked,” he said, his voice laced with concern. I smiled, “I will be fine. Okay, I might be an Omega, but I am a skilled soldier. Just two minutes,” I said and walked away. After I had walked a short distance, I stopped myself only to step on something hard no, someone. I immediately brought out my torch and shone on the body. Goosebumps filled my skin as I looked at his face. He had white hair. Meaning he was a royal from the lark park. Did he come here to kill us? I opened my mouth to scream, but a strong palm covered my mouth. His hard body pressed against my back. “Shh, don't call anyone. I mean no harm,” he said. He waited for a while till I nodded. I can't let anyone know he is here. They would kill him. “Do you have the antidote for wolfsbane? I was shot on my way here. Please help me; I might not make it,” he pleaded. I had the wolfsbane in my pocket; we carried it each time we left in case we were shot. Should I give it to him? What if he ended up killing us? He was definitely a royal. His white hair gave him away. "Please,” he pleaded. His intense blue eyes met mine, and for a moment, I stopped breathing; his musky scent filled my nostrils, sending warmth round my skin. Why was his scent so intense? Maybe because he was from royal blood. “Please,” he said in a whisper. He was getting weak. Without thinking, I brought out the wolfsbane and gave it to him. Watched as he drank the whole of them. “What’s your name?” He asked me to give him the bottle. “It's none of your business,” I said, stretching forth my hands to take the bottle. Knowing my name was risky and useless. We are never going to cross paths again. A smile tugged at his lips. "Grim,” he said firmly, making me stop. “My name is Grim" Wait, Grim. Like the bastard son of Lark Park. Grim, I was standing in front of one of the men my Alpha sent me to kill. Olivia, where are you!”Conrad shouted, drawing me from my thoughts. I flinched and staggered for a while. I seemed so lost that I did not remember that my boyfriend was waiting for me. Luckily for me. The wolf bane took time to work. I would immediately tell my friends, and we would walk away. “Don't tell Dean that you saw me. I would be returning back to my cousin's house before attending our Alpha funeral Why was he talking to me as if I were his pack member? Can't he see that my scent was different? Then it hit me that my Alpha had given us clothes to hide our scent. He thought I was his park member. No wonder he did not kill me. Olivia!” Conrad called again. “I have to go,” I said and staggered away. “Goodbye, Liv,” he said with a gorgeous smile.Olivia POVThe next morning came earlier than expected; at four o'clock, most of the soldiers were already drowsy. Entering the park was quite easier than we thought. The soldiers that stopped us asked us for our name, smelled us, and let us pass.Immediately we got to the palace. We immediately put on the servants' outfit and distributed ourselves to the other maids. Lia and I joined the servants in the kitchen. We were immediately assigned our duties and began immediately.“Are you new here?” One of the maids asked politely. “Yes, we came today,” I said, pointing at myself and Lia, who was on the other side watching plates with the rest.“Oh, that's nice. My name is Laura,” she introduced with a broad smile.“Oliva, but people call me liv.” She nodded as we continued cleaning the plates. The place seemed more busy than usual, as if they were preparing for an event.“Is there an event coming up?” I asked.“Yes. Dean is getting married to Sandra; she is from the Oro pack. I think he
Oliva pov“Liv! Liv!” A distant voice shouted. I tried to open my eyes, but it was too heavy.“Liv! What did you do to her? Liv!” The voice shouted again, closer this time. It took me time to recall who was shouting. It was Lia.I slowly opened my eyes; my eyes met with Lia's worried eyes. My head was seriously banging. My eyes scanned the room. Three huge men stood watching us; Conrad sat adjacent to us. His eyes softened with worry immediately he met mine.“Love, are you okay? Say something!” Lia urged me to shake my body. Fear dripped from her eyes.“I'm fine,” I said. Lia let out a sigh of relief. Conrad closed his eyes for a minute and took in deep breath before he opened it again.I immediately sat upright; images of what happened before flooded my head. Conrad was alive; he was not dead.“Good. Now that you all are alive, we will interrogate you before we kill you,” one of the guards said in a deep voice that sent chills to my skin.“Who sent you?” He asked. We searched each ot
Olivia POVAfter a while, they took us back to the room I and Lia shared before the incident. Any time she tried to strike a conversion, I snubbed her. I did not blame her for trying to save me. I understood the fact that she did it because I am her only friend, but anytime I thought about the fact that Conrad would have been alive and not dead, everything in me shattered.By the time we got to the kitchen, they had already assigned us to our duties. Laura rushed to me with a smile. It seemed as if they were not aware of the fact that we were enemies.“I was worried about you. I thought you were attacked,” she said.I furrowed my eyebrows. “Attacked?” I asked.“Yes, they said some men from Sandra’s pack attacked us. They killed sweet Theresa and even Grim's mother. Grim would have made them beg for death if he was here.”Adrenaline rushed within me at the mention of what Grim would do if he found out about their deaths.“He has lost everything—his father, his mother, and his mate, who
Olivia POVI started at the blue crimson eyes, his eyes fixed on my face as our intoxicating breath mixed. My heart raced against my ribcages. “Do I make myself clear?” He growled deeply from his chest.I remained silent; I had to do this. For me to be happy, at least I would leave this world and get to meet Conrad.I tried twisting my hands from his grip, but he tightened it. I scoffed. Was this man actually trying to struggle with me? I had a specialty with sharp objects. Like I knew ten thousand ways to kill someone with a knife. “Let go of me!” I muttered, struggling with him even though he seemed unaffected.Iheaved a sigh. “Fine, I would drop the knife,” I said, trying to negotiate, and that actually tricked him. He let go of my hand, and I dropped the knife on the ground, and for some reason he heaved a sigh of relief with some foreign curse words.“What the hell did you think you were trying to do?” He asked me, his eyes dark with warmth and yet hatred.I shrugged, “doing this
Olivia POV“Why?” Grim asked as he strides to my side; his scent immediately filled my nostrils. The woman raised an eyebrow at Grim. “I want to talk to her; can’t I have a conversation with the people who killed my daughter?” She asked, her tone laced with calm anger.A glint of guilt passed over Grim’s eyes. Of course, we were talking about his mate. I don’t expect him to protect me. Protect? This was the man who said he would make me live in mystery. He shrugged. “Well, she is my mate, Magana. Don’t worry, I will give her a good punishment. She is not going to go scot-free,” he promised. She tilted her head and smiled at him. “I don’t want to punish her,” Grim said. I just want to ask her some questions," she replied in a sharp tone.Grim took a step toward her, standing in front. “Tell me whatever you want to ask her, and I will ask her on your behalf.”“Don’t tell me you are trying to protect her; her pack killed your mother and your mate. What I expect you to do is to be on your
Olivia POVDread crept into my skin at Dean's statement. Did he find out that Conrad covered up for me? Did Sandra do more investigation? Gush, what if they found out about my secret? I would be dead.Grim would literally rip my heart off and feed on it with pleasure. I swallowed hard and looked Dean in the eye.“What about him?” I asked in a calm voice, trying to hide the fear in me.A smile tugged at his lips. “I heard he covered up for you,” he said.Adrenaline rushed within my body; the room became too hot to breathe; sweat gathered on my forehead as I tried to remain calm. He said "heard,” which means he is not sure.“What do you mean?”He stood up and walked towards me. Don't play games with me, Olivia. You know what I mean,” he whispered, pointing a finger at me.I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow. “How would I know what you mean? Do I have the power to read minds?” I asked, sarcasm dripping off my voice.“I know you killed them. Theresa and his mother. You are the one who
Grim POVI think I am cursed. I am sure I am cursed. That is the only reason the moon goddess, or whatever they call her, would kill my whole family within two days and decide to mate me with someone who planned their death. How the hell do I stay away from Olivia? I am constantly consumed by this feeling of hurt and betrayal, but also by this eager yearning to have her by my side always. But I can’t; it would be a betrayal to Theresa, and I don’t trust her yet. There is something about her that feels like she’s hiding something underneath her.She is an omega, but has a stronger pull. Also, all omega’s are usually weak and meek, but she stands up to me at every opportunity and goes ahead to temper with my feelings while trying to commit suicide.Pain mixed with possession coils in my heart as the scenes from earlier on flooded my mind. God knows what would have happened if I did not get there on time. After leaving her room, I walk towards my office. I had to visit some alphas and inv
Grim “Were you able to convince her?” Hunter asks through the mind link.“Yes. The bastard had gone there to convince her, but she refused. She is on my side,” I said as a smile played on my lips.“Good. You have to do everything to ensure she remains on your side,” he advised me. I nodded and turned off the mind link as I made my way to the car pack. Dean was getting into his SUV with his side piece.Nothing disgusted me more than this woman. Dean literally kidnapped her and brought here for a forced marriage but turned a blind eye to it because Dean promised her wealth and the Luna seat.A seat I was sure only Olivia would sit on.“Dean!” I growl, drawing everyone’s attention to us. The maid and guard pause to see what is happening. On a normal day, I would have glared at them and told them to go ahead with their job, but I figured out that Dean needed a public embarrassment. He swallowed hard immediately as he saw me and squared his shoulders. “What do you want? Do you need my a
