Remove The Mark

[Fineon’s POV]

"What the hell did you do to her?"

I watch in disbelief as Tyson’s men begin to lift themselves from the ground where they had been fighting to keep Fallon in place only minutes prior.

"Why isn’t she moving?"

Rushing forward, I collapse beside Fallon, pulling her into my arms while baring my teeth at the warriors that stand around looking bored.

"She will be fine," one responds. "It’s just a sedative."

A sedative. Great, she was going to be fine. Well, as fine as she could be given her current state.

"She needs to be locked up," the other announces. "She is a danger to everyone."

"You’ve got to be kidding me!" I snarl, grasping her tightly against my chest. "She isn’t a danger!"

As the words leave my lips, the guards give me looks. They clearly scream that I’m blind, and maybe I was, but the thought of Fallon being trapped in a cold cell didn’t sit right with me.

"They’re right, Fineon."

My anger rises as I watch Tyson enter the room with a look of sympathy on his face.
