Do I Actually Care

[Hindrick’s POV]

"Hey," I call, trying to get Fineon to open his eyes. "Shit, you’re burning up."

Letting out a hiss of frustration, I take in Fineon’s red cheeks and sweat-covered skin. What the hell had he done to put himself in this state? Was it really worth sacrificing his own health and possibly his life?

"If you die, I’ll find a way to revive you and kill you again," I warn, hefting him over my shoulder. "Do you hear me?"

Did he hear me? Ha! I was sure right about now that the bastard didn’t hear a thing; he was too damn far gone.

Unable to control my annoyance, I make my way back into Ave’s compound just in time to find Uncle Ramone and Angles speaking animatedly.

"Are you sure you don’t want to stay one more day?" Angles begs. "Tonight’s festivities will be..."

As he speaks, Anita glares daggers toward Uncle Ramone’s back, causing him to actually sweat. This woman really was something.

"I’m sorry, but we really should get going."

"Actually," I announce, deciding to help Angle
