Ezra:

“I take it that you put my offer in consideration?” I heard Killian ask from inside the hotel’s ballroom.

Not wanting to make anything obvious about our partnership just yet, the two of us have agreed to rent a hotel rather than use one of the ones I owned, and though at first I was against it, I quickly complied to Lia who didn’t seem to be in the mood to talk to me to begin with. The two of us were still having a major gap, and I was well aware that it was due to the picture that she saw. Killian having an upper hand on her was not something that she wanted, and if I were being honest, neither was it something that I wanted.

“No, I did not, but I have to thank you for coming today.”

“You needn’t thank me for something that would benefit the two of us. As I have heard, the gathering is to announce a partnership, and as far as we are both concerned, the one partnership that you need right now is mine.” He said confidently. I had to fight back chuckling at his self entitlement,
