CHAPTER 87:

At midnight her eyes snapped open for some odd reason. She looked around trying to understand what was bothering her.

She had slept on Ezequiel’s chest last night after listening to a long lecture about her diet and carelessness. But Ezequiel was not there.

Might be in the bathroom or outside the room. She thought to herself and then put her face down on the bed when she heard some rustling.

“Hazel!” She heard a whisper right near her left ear. She raised her head and found her grandmother leaning on her.

She sat up straight.

So this is a dream! Well, hello to the world of the dead.

“Grandma.” She did not jump up as excitedly as she used to do before. May be because somewhere deep inside she blamed her grandmother for Noah’s death. She could have stopped it. She could have told her.
