Chapter 20: Homeless

Mia’s POV

We arrived at the Full Moon Pack at dusk.

I pressed my face against the car window, taking in the sights.

This city was even larger and grander than Laurel Pack, the most modern city I had ever seen.

The civilians on the streets wore such fancy clothes that I felt ashamed of my own and even more scared of the nobles and candidates I was about to meet.

The car gradually moved into the city center and stopped in front of the packhouse. But calling it a packhouse felt wrong—it was more like a huge castle.

The car drove around a fountain and stopped at the bottom of a long marble staircase.

Two rows of servants were already lined up on either side.

A man who looked like a butler rushed up to open the car door for Draven and bowed respectfully:

“Alpha Draven, welcome back.”

Draven got out of the car, and I quickly followed, glancing nervously at the butler.

But he didn’t even look at me, simply looked at Draven and reported, “Beta Jasper and the elders are already in the meeting
