Well, have you missed me, haha?
Lea:“Is everything alright?” I asked, walking downstairs to notice that everyone was dead quiet.Diego managed to finally get some shut eye, and though I knew that I could use a little sleep; the fact that the pack was as quiet as it was took me off guard. “We got a warning,” Mario was the first to speak. I frowned in confusion, and shook my head, watching as Ezra handed me a parchment. I stared at it for a second before opening it, bracing myself for what I was going to read, knowing that the pack members would not be as quiet as they were nor would they be having such an eerie vibe if it wasn’t something that was serious. “Where did it come from?” I asked, shaking my head in question. “Doesn’t have a name, but we don’t need to wonder or think twice about who we are currently having as an enemy, do we?” Ezra answered, and I shook my head. The fact that I knew that we had more than one enemy to deal with didn’t come off guard. But it didn’t take me long to realize that it would ei
Diego: “What is this, mama?” I asked, frowning in confusion at the sight of the box that was in front of me. Her eyes met mine and she looked down at it before opening the box. Weapons, ancient ones, fell on the ground in front of us. She nodded at them, then she looked at Mario. “Care to explain or should I?” She asked, and Mario rolled his eyes. “We brought them here from our pack grounds. We figured that it would be best for you two to start training using them, and I knew that there was no better way to start doing so than to bring them here. As usual, your mother may or may not like that, but at this point, I care less about what she might think of this when it is your lives that are in danger.” Mario said, and mom shook her head. “Whoever it is that we are fighting, Cosimo included, are going to have stronger weapons, more developed. And believe me, if we are going to keep giving them less power, they are going to end up being harmed. And I do not intend to lose my son…”
Cosimo: “You are delaying things to your own benefit, and with each passing day, with each passing minute, they are growing stronger. It is not something that we want, Cosimo.” My elder, Jasperrando del Mariucci said, glaring at me. I had to force myself to calm down, reminding myself that he was not only my elder, but that he was in charge of most of the funding that came to us. “What is it that is forcing you to keep that woman alive? Huh? Why are you so scared of killing her like you’ve done for both her mother and father?” “I believe that you are well aware that not only did we kill her mother and father twenty years apart, but she was far too young to have anyone around, and Bartolomeo was more than willing to work on our terms. We just failed to see that…” “The man was only making use of what you were offering him, and fucking hell were you offering a lot. The man wasn’t going to allow you to go near his daughter and you took zero advantage of everything that you got.” Jasperr
Lea: “What are you doing?” I asked, shaking my head at my mate. “This is your thousandth pushup right now. Your muscles are going to end up cramping up.” “You really don’t know your mate enough, do you, neonata?” He asked, making me blush at the nickname that he was giving me. The fact that he was barely calling me my name now was something that I noticed. And though I wouldn’t dare point it out, I couldn’t help but blush whenever he did it. “If knowing you enough includes ten hundred pushups, then no.” I said, and he laughed. He sat up and shook his head at me, his smile making my heart melt as he cupped my cheek. He leaned in, connecting his lips with mine in a gentle kiss, and I couldn’t help but find myself smiling as I saw how genuine he was being. The two of us have chosen to go out for the day. It’s been a while since we did, and leaving the pack was something that we both wanted to do. If anything, I was more than a little happy knowing that I would be spending more time w
Diego: “What do you mean the man paralyzed you?” Ezra asked, tending to the wound that I had on my right arm. It was one that Cosimo inflicted when he had me paralyzed, a small reminder, according to him, of what he could do when he wanted; and I couldn’t even fight against it. I looked at Lea who was lost in her thoughts, and though I wished to tell her that the man was not going to stop, not here, and not now; I knew that this was not the time to do so. The idea of me hiding the fact that he was the reason behind her father’s death ate me alive, especially when I knew how much it cost her. “The man had control over our mobility. Literally, and I don’t know how,” Lea said, keeping her eyes on the window. “Cosimo was a man that my father worked with. The idea of him being this- this dark, I find it far too hard to believe. But I saw it in front of me. I saw him, and he seemed to be more than a little proud of what he was doing too.” “Lea, Cosimo was always this dark. You just did
Lea: I had to fight back the anger that I felt upon hearing everything that I was learning. My heart raced, and for a second, it felt like my world was crumbling, but I knew to stay calm and quiet in front of the others. Diego had enough as it was, and the last thing that I wanted was to add up to the fuss. “You’re quiet,” Mario stated, noticing the calmness that I was in. To be honest, I didn’t even know what I was supposed to say. The anger that I felt surely reflected in my eyes, I knew that very well, but I didn’t know where things were going from here, but I surely wasn’t excited. “I keep finding out about facts that I know that I wouldn’t have known if this didn’t happen. I don’t know how I am supposed to feel about it, Mario,” I said, keeping my eyes out the window. My shoulder was patched and stitched, but I knew that things were going to be a lot more difficult as things went on. With Cosimo being the traitor all along, I didn’t know how we were going to be dealing with th
Diego:“You never told me about Rome,” I said, looking at mom who looked away from me.Giovanni was listening as he drove us to the airport where our plane was already waiting. Lea was already there with Mario and Ezra. Our eyes met as she looked at me, and I saw regret in her eyes.“I haven’t told you about a lot, and it is not just Rome. However, if you wish to hear of it, it will not be from me. The man is going to tell you everything that I don’t want you to find out about, and if I may add, he is going to be sure to make it as appealing for you as possible to go and risk your lives.” She said, looking at Giovanni and I. “Mama, hiding this from me is not going to mean that you’re saving my life. And even if you think that you are, you’re not. You’re putting me in more danger with what you’re doing, and our enemies, our MAIN enemy, are going to take charge of it.” I said, and she took a deep breath as she looked away.“It was what he knew that got him killed. What he learned from
Lea: I looked at my mate whose eyes held more pain than I could understand. I knew that he was calm earlier, but I couldn’t understand what was going on. He wrapped his arm around me, pulling me to his chest. “Are you okay?” I asked, and he smiled. “Define okay,” he said, and my eyes softened as we looked one another in the eye before he nodded at his plane. The fact that he had a plane came as a surprise to me, but I knew that it was to be expected from a Capo dei Capi, and though I didn’t know how I felt about the fact that I was accepting him as a mate, that the two of us were fully accepting one another as mates; I knew that I was more than a little happy and thankful for that. “How about we go inside? I think that it is best that we do so.” I nodded and he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me toward the stairs where Ezra was waiting for the two of us. I had to admit, I was thankful for the fact that we were no longer arguing as much as we did, and the fact that we came to
