It’s quiet, not a single sound could be heard. Reaper doesn’t even speak, like she knows that I needed time to just…just breathe.

Hugging my legs to my body I exhale noisily, I was back. I thought this moment would never come but it still didn't take away how I felt, my body had been violated and this was worse than all the times I was beaten.

Making my way to the bathroom, I stare at myself in the mirror. Not quite believing everything that had happened. It seemed like a dream and yet it was so real!

I was still confused, there were still things that just didn’t add up.

Lucian had never been able to find me, but the moment he did, weird shit with Amber started happening. Had he been feeding her information? He wasn't in the world she had created, was that the reason why?

I shake the thought from my head and splash the cool running water on my face, but the thought kept seeping back in.

“What do you think?” I ask my reflection, waiting for Reaper to answer, to somehow solve all my pr

“You really think it will be that easy?” I stare at Tasha, not quite believing what she was suggesting.“Look, I may be like one of you now, but there is still something that I was bred to be. A hunter. If there is anyone that can find her then it will be me!”“Why do you even want to do this?” It was funny looking into her newly turned amber eyes. Almost like they didn’t fit her.She shrugs her shoulders at me, turning her gaze towards Lucian who was standing with Daryl just outside the dungeons.“I feel his hate towards her. Since he gave me this.” She pulls the collar of her tshirt down, revealing a mark on her collarbone, just like the one Daryl gave to me.“It’s weird, as a human, I never understood it. All the research I did about the mate bond that you lot had, it just seemed like a weird fad but now, this.” She pats the mark.“I feel everything he feels, and he doesn’t even try to hide it from me. When you were in the hospital, his heart was close to breaking. Any mention of t

I make sure to slam the door as hard as I can. To show him how annoyed I was with his statement. A negative with a positive, who does he think I am, a child! Each door I pass through, I somehow slam harder and harder and as I rip the front door behind me, the glass pane instantly shatters. A piece of glass catches my fingers and easily slices my skin, but the wound heals as quickly as it appeared. An omega stares at me with wide eyes before hurrying away. Most likely going to tell Daryl what I had done.I stomp towards the forest, but less than a few metres away, I come to a stop. Reaper was preventing me from moving forward.“He said no.” she growls at me.“Why do you have to listen to him, why do you have to obey his orders?” I snap back at her, trying to move my legs forward. I couldn’t believe that I had gotten to the point of fighting with my own wolf.“It’s your fault!” she mutters to me.“How?” I keep trying to shift my legs but they were stuck solid.“You let him mark us. Over the next few days, I stuck to places where Daryl could either easily find me or the bedroom. There had still been no change between Daryl and I. I had tried but it was like my body was going against me in every way possible. I really liked Daryl, but I just couldn’t stand the thought of him touching me and I often found myself wondering if this was going to be my life now, because it wasn't his fault.Talk had spread among the pack of how it had been me that had killed Christian. Some of Daryl’s pack would look at me oddly, probably because of my small frame. Others were keen to speak to me. Hence me spending more and more time in the bedroom.Daryl had even brought a television to keep me entertained. I had tried to read in the library, but I just couldn’t concentrate properly. Mind numbingly boring tv seemed to work better. He had started checking in with me regularly, which was annoying at first but had become comforting by the third day. He had asked me each night if he could

I hear her mumble a few more pleas until her eyes roll back in her head and Amber loses consciousness, she couldn’t fight this. Her vampires struggled too, some already torn apart by the roots holding them, others still determined to get free.A hand slips into mine, but I was surprised to see that it wasn’t Daryl. Instead, it was Tasha.“I am here for you Ashley.” Only words that could be spoken by a true friend.Amber's body splits, the limbs being torn from her torso like she was nothing. Her head is the final thing to be severed. I needed to make sure that there was no way she was coming back. Her vampires crumble around her, their bodies slowly turning to ash and drifting away in the night breeze. I hear cheers from the other side of the packhouse, but there had still been many lives lost.“You did it.” Tasha speaks with a smile and all I can do is nod my head as I stared at the remnants of Amber. When I look to Daryl, he is still staring at me.“I did it Daryl, she is dead.” I m

There is a weird silence between us. We both wanted to say something and yet neither of us could find the words. He slowly sinks back into his chair, rubbing the stubble on his chin when he pulls a huge stack of files from the large drawer of his desk.“Since I first found you, I have searched for an answer to break the curse.” He gestures to the pile of papers in front of him.“You were never meant to come into my life. That was part of the curse. I never wanted a mate.”“You didn’t want me?”“That’s not what I am saying Ash! This curse, I agreed to it long before I found you. A curse that would forever keep me from my mate in return for me being a strong leader, an Alpha. It’s why you constantly have mixed emotions around me. Why you get annoyed by the simple things I ask of you. You were never meant to be with me, you were never meant to find me.”He was being serious. The speech sounded familiar too."You can't be serious Daryl. You were there that night. Riding your motorbike as

He doesn’t answer me. I had no idea of how long he had been plotting this, planning on asking me to do something that no mate would ever do, but I was certain that I would not be the one to kill him.“Open the gates!” Daryl commands his men.As the gates swing open, the crowd begin moving forward at a steady pace. At first I didn’t think it would be too bad but as they closed in on me, pure panic sets in and I drop Daryl’s hand to run back to the packhouse.“Ashley!” he calls after me but I can’t deal with this, this was not what I had signed up for.I hear the chatter behind me as I move, the questions asking what is going on and what am I doing. I don’t look back and keep moving until I reach the packhouse.“What are you doing?” Reaper demands an answer.“I am not a Queen, I cannot do this!”“Yes you can”My body swings around and my hand reaches for the door handle.“Stop it!” she was getting good at controlling me.“What’s the problem?” she hisses at me, clear annoyance in her ton

How could I even respond to his last comment, what was I supposed to say? It wasn’t like I could tell him that everything would be okay, he was dying because of me, because I was his curse.“How…?” Reaper asks quietly, she was in as much shock as I was.“When…”“Does it matter Ashley?”“When did you figure it out?” I needed to know how long he had known and why he hadn't told me.“A couple of months”“You didn’t say anything?!”He shakes his head at me, the tiredness shining through his bright blue eyes.“I couldn’t Ash. Do you know how hard it is, to be in love with someone that’s slowly killing you? To have found your mate when you were never supposed too?”“There has to be something that we can do. Daryl, you can’t leave me, not now!” I try to move closer, but he holds a hand up to me and asks me to stop. Was this my punishment for not letting him get close to me?“There is nothing Ashley. “You really are stupid sometimes, sister! I thought you had more sense than trying something like this”I rub my eyes and sit up staring at him, my top was soaked in blood, the blade next to me on the bed as Lucian wipes my blood from his hands and shakes his head.“How… how am I alive?”He rolls his eyes at me and tuts.“There is only one way to kill a Royal, you must behead them. A blade to the heart is just a temporary death. Never quite gone. A mistake many have made over the years.”“Where’s Daryl?”“Would you believe me if I told you he was sleeping?” he raises an eyebrow at me, half smiling. I frown at him, unsure if he was speaking the truth.“I thought over our conversation, sister. You spoke of mother and father being together, and you were right. But what thing did they have in common that you and Daryl do not?”I shrug my shoulders, my heart still ached and I wasn’t exactly thinking clearly. There was enough blood here that should have meant my life was over.“They were bo

A few months has passed since all the craziness with Lucian. Things had settled down massively, well, apart from being thrown into motherhood and raising triplets. I was just glad I wasn’t doing it on my own.Daryl was still getting used to having a smaller pack. Although he had already been out trying to recruit other packs that were smaller than ours. Some had accepted whereas others had told him where to go. The pack was still much smaller than the average wolf pack with less than a hundred people now after many had lost their lives in the fight against my brother, but he was certain he would make it great again. After all, he really wanted to pass on an almighty pack to Daryl Junior, the eldest of the triplets. In just a few months the three of them had grown quite quickly, instead of being like three-month-olds, they looked more like eighteen month olds and certainly liked to keep me busy and on my toes, especially since they were already walking and running. I assumed they were

More bullets come as I keep low, the stench of Lucian’s blood filling the air as he hovers above me. With each bullet, I am splattered in his blood, but it continues to do little more than slow him down.“You have not learnt a thing!” he roars at me as his claws wrap around my neck, lifting me from the ground.I should have been afraid, scared for my own life as I faced death when he suddenly stills. My feet dangling in the air at least ten inches from the ground. His deep amber eyes staring into mine, but he was quiet, no sound was coming from Lucian and yet everyone around us was yelling. His claws pierced the skin of my neck, my own blood trickling down over my cool skin as I watched Lucian’s nostrils flare. He was enjoying my scent, like it was something he had been longing for. This was not in my plan. His teeth sink into my shoulder as I let out a scream, and I see people charging towards Lucian. Daryl was shouting out something about protecting the Luna.Lucian’s jaw refuses to

“I will stop this.” I try to reassure the tiny beast in my arms, but I still didn’t know if I could even kill him, if it was even possible.“She will never be yours!” Lucian’s voice howls around us making Natasha’s little beast cling to me harder. Her tiny claws piercing my skin as they dug into me, her body trembling as his voice echoes around us.“Drop the spell.” I whisper to the small beast. Lucian was using her to put the spell around the dungeons, to stop others from getting any closer, but she was still a baby, could she even understand what I was saying? Could my reassurance be enough? Her small furry body continues to tremble against mine until it suddenly stops, momentarily scaring the crap out of me. When I hear soft snuffles coming from her and gently turn her head. She had fallen asleep on me. She had gone from a terrified little beast to one in a deep sleep, she had needed me so much more than I had ever known, and I feel a shift inside of me. The need to protect her, no

“It’s not that simple is it. I may have some magical abilities, but he still has years over me. Years of training, years of knowledge, years of planning what he calls his redemption.”“But there is something he possibly didn’t account for. A mother’s love, a mate’s love. The fact that a whole pack will be right behind you.”It just didn’t seem true. Maybe I had been looking at this all wrong and it wasn’t just my fight anymore.“Then how am I supposed to make myself stronger?”“You already know Ash, look at the things you have been capable of. Personally, I don’t think you give yourself enough credit.”I was completely soaked from the heavy rain as I stared up into his amber eyes, the blue flecks shining brightly through the storm. It wasn’t just me that had changed but it seemed like he had too. His once sulky and moody self had mellowed out.“What ever happens Ash, you have three babies that need you.”I slowly bob my head, he was right, but I had still left them to check on my best

No one stops me, no one even comes after me as I race through the forest towards her house. She had to be here, it was where it had all started. As I break out of the forest, I see it, her small house sitting on the opposite side of the road. A trail of blood leading up the few steps as the door sat open. Anyone could walk in here, anything could have found her.Creeping towards the house, I knew the trail of blood belonged to her. It was dry though and had been sat here for a while, but it didn't remove her scent.“Tasha?” I call out her name as I step in through the front door, hoping for some kind of response but I was met with silence and what was worse is the trail of blood ended in the middle of the room. There was nothing, no body, no pool of dried red, but more importantly there was no sound. The floorboards didn’t creak like I was used to, no weird smell from all the herbal teas she had scattered around.“Can you hear her?” I mutter to Reaper. I didn’t even know why I was ask

The omega keeps her head low, not speaking as she remained in the room. She was our biggest risk right now; she was the only one to know that I had had a third baby and I couldn’t have her revealing that information, not to anyone.“You can’t say anything!” I plead with her, hoping that she would understand.“They need to be checked over.” She mumbles back at me and Daryl shakes his head“Kiera, you cannot tell anyone, you cannot share the news of Ash having a third child. Do you understand?” He was using his Alpha tone, a tone that I was only to familiar with. The omega gulps, her eyes wide as she slowly nods her head.“I need you to say it Kiera!”“I won’t tell anyone, but how are you going to hide her, what if she is a poorly pup?”Daryl looks between me and the omega as I gently rock our little girl.“Kiera, you will become Ashley’s personal maid. You will do nothing else in the house except for helping Ash and tending to the children and monitoring any changes in them!”“But the

“For you!” Lucian punches the stone wall of his cell, splitting the skin on his knuckles which heals instantly.“I don’t understand”“Of course you don’t sister.” He laughs manically as he tries to pull the bars apart. I was glad Daryl had reinforced them.“You weren’t to know I was going to have children.”He looks at me from the corner of his eye. I was so stupid, I had told him of the vision, the one where I was left alone with twins, the one where Daryl was not in the picture. How could I have been so stupid?“You told me that not all visions were correct that some were just created in my own mind!”“Yes, but I saw that vision too, sister. Getting into your head was much easier than you trying to get into mine. Any time your wolf was dormant, it left an opening. A chance for me to see everything!”“Just kill him Ash” Daryl links me"Whicjh is why you wanted Amber to trap me?"He starts clapping."About time you figured that out."“You would never have found me without Daryl!” I ye

The omega hands her to me, she was much smaller than the boys with tufts of dark hair that matched Daryl’s, bright amber eyes peeping out under her eyelids.I still didn’t understand, the doctor had shown me the monitor, pointed out the two boys, how could he have missed a third baby or even a third heartbeat.Silent tears run down my face as I look at the three of them, how could I protect them? How could I protect my daughter from my brother? He was so set on taking her.“You did well.” The omega smiles at me as she drapes something over my legs, but I glance at the door. I had a bad feeling growing in the pit of my stomach.“He’s coming.” I mutter. There is fear on the omegas face as her eyes widen and her body stills.“You’re scared of him?”“Every omega is.” She sits next to me.“You know I’m not talking about Daryl, don’t you?”She nods her head and mutters Lucian’s name back to me.“What did he do to you?”He didn’t have anything to do with the omegas.“You don’t know?” she que

It was strange after experiencing Amber's world!Being able to run through Lucian’s mind with his beast chasing me was something I had never considered happening, nor did I think it was even possible and yet here I am. To be in someone’s mind was almost disgusting, you never know what they might be hiding and it was apparent that Lucian had been hiding alot.I had never bothered to ask the name of his beast, but something tells me it’s up there like mine. Reaper, another name for death and she certainly did have a dark side.“Tell me where she is!” I scream as I continue to run.“Give us your daughter!”“I have already told Lucian, they are boys, no females.”“You lie! I can smell it. You are carrying a girl!”Here I had no bump, if anything my stomach was flatter than flat. Was this how Lucian really saw me?He chases me through the greyness of Lucians mind. There was no colour, like he only saw things a certain way. Anytime I get a chance to grab something to throw, I do. Lucian con
