April lay on the couch, trying to relax as Aiden prepared some food in the kitchen. The house was unusually quiet; the kids were still at school, and Katya and Dmitri were off at work. The silence was comforting but also unsettling, as her mind couldn’t stop replaying the events of the day. Lucifer’s appearance at her office weighed heavily on her, and the emotional toll left her exhausted.

She sighed and closed her eyes, hoping for a moment of peace. But then, there was a knock at the door.

“Aiden, are you expecting anyone?” April asked, her voice hoarse.

Aiden peeked his head out from the kitchen, concern in his eyes. “No, not at all. Should I get it?”
