Alpha Damon:

Her hands fidgeted and her eyes still couldn't reach mine even after over three minutes of sitting with her. I admit I didn't make it any easy for her, however, her silence was becoming irritating. She was never this scared of me when I had been actively clamoring for her death, so why now?

“What is wrong with you?” I asked and her eyes shot up at me.

“My lord…”

“Cut it out,” I said, rolling my eyes. “It's just the two of us here. Tell me what is bothering you.”

She turned away from me again, her mouth sealed shut.

“Look at me.”

Her eyes met mine, but they were struggling to hold my gaze. At some point, she was looking over the top of my head instead.

“I don't have time for this. Just tell me what is bothering you already.”

“Nothing is bothering me, my lord,” she said, shaking her head and that action angered me more. “What makes you think anything is bothering me? I was just a little timid standing in front of so many people.”

I swallowed. Of course, she wasn't

Silver: Everyone seemed to be glaring at me as I fearfully made my way back to the harem. My body was shaking from having just lied to the king, but it was something I had to do. I had never had to go back to the harem on my own before as Alpha Damon always instructed a guard to take me, but this morning was different. I had pissed him off greatly and now had to face the consequences of my actions. I had a feeling he would be suspicious of my sudden desire to save the harem and Gertrude, but what I hadn't expected was him to be exceedingly angry about it. For a split second, I considered telling him the entire truth of how I had been put up to it by Rogu, but I knew in the end, if he knew what my father had done, the reasonability he showed with me would be gone. He implied he could take care of me and protect me from whatever plans Rogu had threatened me with, but I couldn't let myself be deceived by that false hope. As I walked through the main streets, some of the wolves turne

Silver:I managed to stay on her back by gripping her fur tightly, as she glided through the forest along with the other wolves who were scampering for their lives. Her wolf bolted through the grassy fields with so much speed that everything I looked at passed by like a blur, and the only sound I could hear was the sound of rushing wind slicing past my ears. Struggling to catch my breath, I buried my head in her fur as I held onto her for dear life. I was unable to forget the smell the rogues had released, a smell so rancid, it announced their presence even before they could be seen. I couldn't get the image of their bloody snouts and mouths dripping with saliva out of my mind either, a sight that disgusted me just as much as it terrified me. My class study on rogues from back in my clan school was one of the few werewolf classes I had ever paid attention to. I had admired rogues because they, like me, were ostracized. I hadn't believed in their existence generally, but just like a

Silver:My body shook as I fell to the ground and held my hands over my head. I could feel them coming closer even without seeing them and it terrified me to the core. There was nothing I could do at this point without making things worse. From a crack in between my fingers, I peeked and saw two women wielding sharp knives which were supposed to be for our collective protection here. For them, a human was more dangerous than a million rogues put together. At least they shared similarities with the rogues, but I would forever remain an outcast. Alpha Damon’s protection of me was becoming suspicious to the rest of his kingdom. They were beginning to think I had some hold on him and I couldn’t blame them. When I peeked again, the other women had given way for the first woman to walk up to me with the knife that looked extra sharp and pointed it directly under my neck. So this was it. My demise. I never imagined my death like this; in another man’s land when I hadn’t even begun to explo

Silver: “Who are you?” I asked her warily and she rolled her eyes. “I literally just told you that. You were in danger, you cried out to my Sovereign and she sent me here.”“So how exactly are you going to help me?” None of this made any sense, but the only thing I could keep doing was ask. I thought I was losing my mind and her answers weren't making it any better. “I already helped you. Why do you think everyone is frozen?” she gave me a ‘duh’ look. “You’re welcome.” “How?” “That's my power. I can bend and freeze time, so that’s exactly what I did.” She walked closer to me, but I only moved further backward. I no longer had my weapon with me, but I made sure to glare at her in a way that would make her know I could throw hands. “I'm here to protect you. There's no need to be scared of me. I thought you would be happy.” “You’re just a child,” I murmured, shaking my head and holding onto a tree. “This is my current form. Cute, right.” She looked down at her baby skin and her c

Silver: Not willing to risk my new-found freedom, I remained by an inconspicuous corner of the room, away from the rest of the women where they wouldn’t notice I didn’t smell like them and somehow remember all that had happened before now, but not so far away either. Apart from one sick-looking woman who kept watching me warily, no one else seemed to pay me any mind. I wondered where Mila was. Maybe if I had someone with me, the odd woman wouldn’t find me so interesting.Coming to think of it, there weren’t many people there our age. No other harem girl had made it into the building. I felt a little chilly. I hoped the people in here weren’t the only people who had survived. A door inside the room burst open and Mila came out. “There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you,” she chastised me, but came up to hug me. I was equally relieved to see her. She sat down beside me as we stared off into space. There was nothing else to do and nothing much to be said. Soon, a silence ove

Silver: Everyone was now awake because of the woman and me and I didn't like the attention it brought.“Are you okay?” Mila asked sleepily, vaguely aware of what was going on. “Yeah. That woman just thought she was seeing something," I said, desperately hoping that was all this was about. “Old Lady Ruth?” she scoffed, glancing at the woman. “Everyone knows her. She's crazy. I don't even know why she came here.” My eyes widened. “So she deserves to die because she's crazy and old?” “Calm down. That's not what I meant. She's always saying it's her fault her whole family died and she wants to die with them, so it's surprising how she keeps running to safety.” I glanced at the woman and noticed she was still mumbling something and staring at me. I didn't know her story, and I didn't want to know it. Something warned me against her and inasmuch as I didn't support abandoning people because they were crazy, I couldn't ignore that nagging voice in my head telling me to stay away from h

  • Alpha Damon's Redemption   Moving On

Tiffanie:It had been exactly twenty-one days since my sister, Silver left us, twenty-one silent days of regret and uncertainty. Our once bubbly house became a graveyard where celebratory visits slowly turned into condolence visits. On the day Silver left us, my mother had just agreed to do something she had been so against from the start, a hypnosis on Silver. Everyone had always been irritated by my sister's complete disregard for our sacred beliefs, but it had never been the plan to hypnotize her, no matter how many times the Sorceress tried to convince my mother. However, something had happened that morning after my mother found Silver in the forest. She never told me what exactly she had seen, but ever since that day, nothing remained the same again. Unfortunately, the Sorceress had come that day to try and convince us, and surprisingly, my mother agreed to go on with the hypnosis, wholeheartedly, and like the subservient and dutiful daughter I was, I agreed with her. Okay, th

  • Alpha Damon's Redemption   Finding The King

Silver: The Reborn Kingdom did not take the news of their King’s disappearance as well as I had expected them to. On the first day, it was complete chaos. People wailed on the streets, tore their clothes, and scattered around everywhere. No one tried to bring Mila and me back to the harem like I assumed they would. There was nothing but confusion everywhere, I wondered how Beta Rogu would ever be able to put the Kingdom back in order. After storming out of the hideout building, I hadn’t been able to find Mila again. I wondered if she was searching for me, or if amidst the chaos, she had been hurt. I had to carry on without her. Based on everything that had happened, I had a huge role to play now, so I would worry about her later. I hid my bracelet inside my dress to protect it from being stolen. It was very easy for people to revert to crime during times like this and I preferred not to be a victim. I didn’t know where I was going to or what I hoped to achieve by mindlessly roaming

  • Alpha Damon's Redemption   The End

Silver’s POV Five Years later: “To our fifth year of harmony!” Bottles clinked and deep voices rang out in cheers as everyone joined in the merriment. The feast was bigger than any other preceding it, and each row and column was filled with human and wolf alike, drinking and laughing, talking and dancing as the joys of merriment engulfed them. It was such a beautiful sight. This was something that had never been done in millennia, but had somehow been achieved during our time. It was a feast we held to celebrate the day the war had officially ended, and even though it was the fifth year, it still felt unreal and made me feel jittery whenever I looked at the sincere faces of everyone having fun. Sometimes it felt like the entire beef between human and wolf never even happened. That felt like such a long time ago, like a dream whose parts I couldn’t clearly remember anymore. The dream could have never become a reality if not for the gods’ interference, that was for sure. Th

Silver: “I can’t. My sister is here,” I said, turning to show him my sister, but of course he couldn’t see her in the pitch blackness. “I’m with Lord Tyrel,” Damon said. “He’ll keep an eye on her. This is really important.” “Hello, Luna,” a deep voice which I assumed must be Tyrel’s spoke. I stepped back defensively. “I’m not leaving my sister with any of your Lords after what I’ve been through,” I snarled. I didn’t care that this lord Tyrel could hear me. There was no way I would let her near any of the men who had gladly sought my death. Damon sighed and held my hand again. I wanted to slap his hand away, but it was warm and relaxing , a contrast from anything I had witnessed all night. “The reason why Rogu was able to get so many people on his side was because he used magic. Some of my men were infected, but now the black magic is gone, I promise you.” I laughed drily. “You really expect me to believe that?” “It’s the truth. That’s how he was able to get the

  • Alpha Damon's Redemption   Final Goodbyes

Silver: I stood in awe as the bright apparition came closer. I had told Tiffanie all about the goddess of time, but like other things I had said, she didn’t believe me then. She stood there frozen with her mouth open as the apparition drew closer. I waited, surprised by the fact that I was greatly excited to meet Oge even though I had borne a huge resentment for her abandoning us after so long. The wolf’s loud and scary howls turned into soft scared purs as it ran away when the goddess approached. Once again, I had been saved from certain death from her timely intervention. As the figure kept approaching however, I slowly began to realize it looked more familiar than usual. It was a woman alright, but not Oge. “Mom?” My sister called out uncertainly. My lips could not form words. Right there in front of me was my mother who had been torn to shreds in front of me a day before, standing in front of me with no marks on her face and looking like a smiling angel. “Silver,

  • Alpha Damon's Redemption   Return

Silver: The noise coming from outside was enough to scare anyone to death. It was evident the human soldiers had finally rallied together and mobilized their weapons and men to fight for them. I was in the room Xavier had ordered his men to place me and I crouched by a corner holding my sister who was even more scared than I was. “Should we go out?” Tiffanie asked with a trembling voice. “We need a better place to hide…” She couldn’t complete the rest of her sentence because a loud crash sounded above us. Never in my life had I heard anything as terrifying as the things I heard that day, not even the day Rogu had planted grenades around Alpha Damon’s palace. “It’s too dangerous to go out there,” I screamed over the loud explosions. “This is the best place we can be at this point.” More explosions occurred, which made Tiffanie and me shudder at each sound. I wasn’t sure I could ever remain normal even if I somehow survived this. After watching my mother get murdered right i

  • Alpha Damon's Redemption   Confessions

Alpha Damon: “All these years. It was you!” I barked at Rogu who had been tied up at my command. To say I was furious would be a huge understatement. I felt the pain all over again, but this time it wasn’t just the pain of losing my mother, it was the pain of losing my senses, the love of my life and years of happiness I would have had, all because I allowed Rogu to play with my head. I didn’t have to wait for a response from him. I knew Silver’s mother was right. From the look on Rogu’s face as I manhandled him, to the emotions I could feel through him, I knew he was guilty. All those years when I was just an eight year old boy on a walk with his mother and witnessing her murder right in front of me, it had been Rogu all along. He had killed her by mistake because he meant to kill Silver’s mother, a fellow wolf. I had assumed Silver’s father was the murderer simply because he had tried to help me resuscitate her, and because I had been told humans were nothing but trouble and

  • Alpha Damon's Redemption   The Truth

Silver: It took a while for me to realize that the voice screaming was mine. I watched in horror as my mother’s body was carted away from the room by the other two wolves, while the one who had done the biggest damage stayed back to watch me. Tiffanie was on the floor, rolling and crying. I didn’t know what to do. My mother no longer looked like my mother. She was gone. She was dead. Right after I finally got her back. I fell to the floor without noticing the wolf that was watching me with keen eyes. I wondered why he wouldn’t pounce on me already. It was as if all they wanted was my mother, but then what was the gain in killing her? It made no sense. They had been safe before I arrived. Was it my fault? Had I been the one to draw the rabid wolves here with my scent? I hated myself then. I blamed myself for everything. After everything I had been through to come back to my mother and to protect my family, she had been taken from me within a few split seconds. As I lay on the flo

Silver: “This is great news,” I squealed. For the first time since I discovered I was part werewolf, I was proud of it. It had saved my life and that of my sister after all. “How did it happen?” “When the wolves came, everywhere was a mess. Fortunately, our house is a little hidden so not many came here. Two came to carry us. They called us freaks and tried to kill mom and one started touching me inappropriately,” she said, rubbing her elbows and looking away as she recounted the unfavorable incident. My hands balled into fists. “Something just snapped within me and before I knew it I was on the floor like an animal, tearing into their flesh.” “I’m sorry you had to go through that,” I said, before flopping on the couch. I was extremely exhausted. “But I’m happy we can defend ourselves.” “Why do you look so bad?” She asked me, taking in my roughed up appearance and the blood all over my clothes. “I’m exhausted and…” I said, struggling to speak now that the adrenaline that

I stood up immediately and went back to join the others, not willing to draw any attention to the fact that I had just killed a wolf. “Let’s go,” I choked out and fortunately, no one asked me any stupid questions, just followed me. I limped as I led the way, my entire body in pain. I had no idea where I was taking them, but as long as we were moving, I was fine. I wasn’t sure if there was any place that hadn’t yet been run down by the wolves already. “Marc,” someone called and I glanced around but didn’t see anyone. “Psst. Hey. Down here.” We all looked down at the same time and I jumped when I saw the faint outline of a body through a hole in the ground that could pass for a sewer. “Jimmy?” The man in our group who must have been named Marc called back. “What are you doing in the ground?” “Just wait, I’ll be right there,” Jimmy said, disappearing from our view. They know this is a prison and they have no us for prisoners, at least not yet," I heard one say. "Shut the door!" the woman with a child cried out. "You'll make them find us!" "Don't reveal our hiding place," another prisoner said. "Go soemwhwere else before you haev us killed in your place." There was arguing among the prisoners and those who wanted to hide with us for a few minutes. I found it very stupid to engage in an argument at this point. It wasn't like the prisoners could come out of their cells and chase the new people away. "Everyone stop!" the man who always managed to have information barked and everywhere quieted down.
