“What gift do you plan on giving her?” I couldn't stop myself from growling. From the moment she told Ruby that she had a gift for her and that it would arrive in seven days, I knew she was up to something, and I needed to find out what it was. It didn't help that she was looking at my mate in that particular way while she said it.

Mom faced me and shrugged. “Urgh, you are hurting my feelings. I have a gift for your mate. Isn't that what good mothers-in-law do for their daughters-in-law?”
