Most of the werewolves in the Vagabond Pack never talked of these topics; sex, mate, heat, and anything else regarding touching bodies intimately. Why would they anyway when they had packs to protect? And not once did they sit down and start discussing the possibilities about mates, it was important because no one has ever announced they needed a mate or they have met one.
No one in the pack had a mate, or so she believed, now, she was unsure if no one had. The fact that she couldn’t help but think someone had but since they never spoke about mates eat her up as she huddled herself in the corner feeling small with no answer.
The Vagabond Pack werewolves would summarize every fighting scene in one go and would fight anything and anyone without batting an eyelash. Indeed, they were the chosen pack only meant to be warriors.
Most of the warriors in the Vagabond Pack didn’t know their parents because they were brought as pups from Pryden, House of Noirin.
When she was old enough, she asked her father and Alpha Craton and told her, “it is like adopting, but here, we are not sending them to school but training them into assassins.”
It was always like that, pretty simple, everyone would turn into warriors and would dedicate their whole lives to training and whenever they were ready to leave, they would either receive letters from the specific pack or Alpha Ciandra would visit different packs and let them know of their work, after acceptance, the warriors would leave for their duties.
Thinking back to every day after the pack members returned from their duties, Alpha Ciandra tried to scrap her head, trying to recall if she heard anyone speaking about meeting their mates.
Nothing.
She began pacing and remembered what the women at the house of Noirin used to say about what would happen when they stayed far away from their mates, and still, she couldn’t remember anyone appearing as though they have left their worlds behind and would wish to discontinue their lives.
Why didn't she ever inquire?
Alpha Ciandra spread her bed and left her room. She ignored her grumbled stomach as she walked through the hallways, at least checking on everyone would calm her mind.
Outside the packhouse, she saw two wolves at the gate. When she reached where they were, she was disappointed. They were sleeping while standing. Lazy guards they were.
After warning them, she went around the packhouse and found the same happening with other guards. She reprimanded them too and went to her bedroom and laid awake till the first cock crowed.
She remembered at this time her pack was awake and ready to train and couldn’t help but think of training the wolves here too.
When the sun rose, she headed to her door and listened to the lazy voices of the werewolves, she felt stupid because any other day, before the return of the alpha aka her mate, she would be on her way to her office.
She felt like a small child hiding from her father after they have done a punishable mistake. “Alpha Ciandra, are you awake?” A timid tone from outside asked.
She stood straight and swung the door, “may I help you?”
“Yes, Alpha Ciandra. The Dark Guards are waiting for you.”
“Right. Thank you.”
“They are at the training field, Alpha.”
“Okay.”
Before Alpha Ciandra asked her name, she run, almost tripping over. She showered and dressed up in brown trousers, a black t-shirt, and some black boots.
The Dark Guards were standing lazily near the fence at the training ground, and by training, it was just a field with only what seemed to be a football goalpost. Alpha Ciandra absentmindedly looked around, searching for Alpha Alphonso, when she didn’t find him, she was happy. She hoped she didn’t see him for the whole day. With lack of sleep and answers, she was sure as hell wouldn’t stand the man even for a minute.
“Good morning.” She greeted. “I am Alpha Ciandra, sent by my pack to lead the pack when it comes to the pack’s safety. I am not impressed with everything I have seen.”
Apart from the Dark Warriors, the ones guarding the pack at their territories, she knew everyone by their names, their mates, their children, and hell, even their family history.
She was clever, and calculating and always knew better than anyone to plan ahead of her. She wasn’t stupid to start working with strangers. Just as she learned of the neighboring packs, knowing the warriors and the guards was important too.
They stared, eyes bored.
To make them active, she asked their names randomly, and by the time the last one spoke, she knew it was either one; she had to order them as requested by dear Alpha Alphonso or leave and come back with either Beta Pierre or the only alpha.
She was fucked as already she decided not to show her face in front of Alpha Alphonso.
She knew it was stupid to avoid accepting the inevitable, but what else would she do?
Beta Pierre was a no, no, no.
And ordering them or being feisty wouldn’t cut. As an Alpha and a warrior, she knew the importance of understanding, respect, and equality when it came to training and fighting with fellow warriors.
If she ordered them, it would yield unfruitfully, and failing was never in her plan.
“Alpha Ciandra, can we leave now.” One of the wolves asked.
She shook her head, “I want us to come up with a training plan.”
“We are trained.” Someone said from behind her, she turned around and met the woman who came to call her earlier, “I am Callister, the lead guard.”
“Oh.” Her mouth formed the letter ‘o’. She was shocked, she was wrong to think the woman feared her.
“Okay, I need to speak to you after this meeting.”
“Okay.”
“Before I make a plan with Callister, I need to warn all of you, again. The rogues or the hunters don’t send an invitation, they just attack. As such, you shouldn’t leave the gate open.”
“What about the Dark Warriors, what would they be doing when the rogues get into our pack?” Callister challenged.
Alpha Ciandra smiled, “we should be alert at all times, it is just a warning and no one said something like that would happen. Would it kill you if you train yourselves?”
“Are you saying we lack skills?” Callister shot a question.
“Thank you for coming, we will summon you in an hour.” Alpha Ciandra managed to say instead of ordering Callister to shut her ass if she didn’t plan to help. Why did it feel like she was going to work by herself?
“Beta Pierre has called you,” Callister said when they arrived at her office’s door.
“Pardon?”
“Beta Pierre, Ciandra, catch up.”
“When did he call me?”
“When I came to your room, why?”
Alpha Ciandra’s lip raised in amusement, was the woman in front of her Beta Pierre’s sister or what?
“Meet later?” Callister asked and walked away before she even replied.
Nearing Beta Pierre’s office, she heard murmurs inside, she stopped on her track and listened before she made out who it was, the door opened and Beta Pierre came out, “Ciandra, you shouldn’t keep a man waiting.”
“Hello to you too, asshole.” She greeted.
Beta Pierre laughed, “we are good. We are good. Get in.”
She went in and was about to turn around and exit but found the door open.
In a flash, Alpha Alphonso stood in front of her, he locked their lips together. Alpha Ciandra’s body lit with fire, she closed her mouth tightly, ignoring the alpha’s tongue that was asking permission for her to allow him to lick her.
She tried to push him away, hating every minute his tongue was on her lips.
“What is he doing?” She wondered. Before she could get an answer, the alpha pinched her nipple painfully, making her gasp. It gave him the perfect chance of fully entering his tongue into her mouth.
With all her effort, she pushed him away, he staggered with a smirk on his face, “you are sweet, my mate.”
“Are you stupid? What the fuck is wrong with you? I said I am not your mate.” She said and rubbed his saliva from her lips.
“You are, let us confirm.” He pulled her into her, her knees almost giving up, he grabbed her by the neck, and whispered, “I will mark you and we shall see what happens. You do know if a wolf is marked by someone who isn’t their mate, they die? Right? Now, allow me, my love.”
Alpha Ciandra could hear in his voice, he meant every word of what he said. She didn’t want to be marked. Hell, she didn’t want a mate. Suddenly, she didn’t have any power left in her. She was unsure if it was panicking or because the alpha had more energy than her.
“No. Don’t. Please.” She said.
“Accept me as your mate.” He whispered.
“No.”
“I guess marking you it is.” The alpha returned his lips to her earlobe, licking slowly towards her neck, she tried her best to push him, and when she was almost certain he would mark her, he stopped and moved away.
Alpha Ciandra let out a relieved sigh as she took a step backward.
“I, Alpha Alphonso of the Dark Shadow Pack, accept you, Alpha Ciandra Craton of the Vagabond Pack.” He paused, taking in Alpha Ciandra’s shaken figure. “Now, accept me.” He ordered.
[ALPHA ALPHONSO] “I, Alpha Alphonso of the Dark Shadow Pack, accept you, Alpha Ciandra Craton of the Vagabond Pack.” He paused, taking in Alpha Ciandra’s shaken figure. “Now, accept me.” He ordered. Her lips parted as he stared at him with fury, the vehement in her eyes visible. Alpha Alphonso looked behind her as if waiting for something, for someone. He moved to her, she moved back. When her back hit the door, he raised his hand and asked, “chose between marking you or accepting me.” As much as he wanted to hear her answer, the person he was waiting to come through seemed to take all the time he had in the world. Where the fuck are you?” He cursed, returning his attention to Alpha Ciandra, he pushed his knee onto her thigh and whispered, “Ciandra, when I said I love patient mates, I forgot to mention something. I am not patient myself. You see, two opposites attract, and if both of us are patient, this relationship won’t work.” “Move away, you…” “That can’t work, I am wait
[ALPHA ALPHONSO] ******** How could he make her accept him? He wasn't a patient man when it came to what he wanted. He rubbed his feet together, wondering what he must do and immediately. He was horny, he had been so busy with the meeting that he never got the time to fuck one of the she-wolves who had kept stuffing her boobs into his face. And with his mate inside the pack, he wanted a release more than anything. "What if she plays hard to get? What then?" He wondered and sat up. How far would he go? "You are the alpha, now, think of what you will do without crushing her." Remembering his position, his duty, he couldn't help but remember her duties too. It was a hinder and he hated it. He was the alpha first, and as such, his pack’s safety came first. Knowing well the importance of Ciandra inside his pack, he had to make sure not one thing would hinder her work. He knew what a warrior meant, the values of the Vagabond Pack, and the duties laid upon them from years ago un
"Accept me! Accept me!" Those words rang inside her head as she pushed past the wolves standing in the hallways as if they couldn't see her. She could feel bile rising in her throat, she rubbed her mouth with pure disgust on her face, she wanted to get a soap, wash her mouth with and forget the man’s lips and tongue on her. "Who does he think he is?" She cussed, staring ahead of her, her mind and heart thinking of two different things. Her heart kept asking her to forget what had happened and checked on what Callister meant by Beta Pierre was in deep shit, while her mind kept telling her to head back to her bedroom, brush her teeth and return to find Alpha Alphonso and give him a mouthful of her thoughts. It was her fucking first kiss and to think it was with that man, forcefully to make matters worse. She grunted when a wolf stood in front of her, "what?" She growled. “You are needed at the gate, immediately." "And where is it that you think I am going?" She wanted to ask, in
She watched the man leaving with his shoulders slumped, although she didn’t have the experience of mates, for a few seconds she thought he was acting the correct anyone would if they were in his shoes. Looking around, her stomach sunk, she missed her pack, her home. Most importantly, she missed visiting the Shutter Island and Pryden, House of Noirin. Thinking of the two houses and the mating issue, a weird thought crossed her mind, wondering what if her pack members visited them without her knowledge. “No. They could never hide something useful from me.” Self-doubt and regrets were something she didn’t want to exhibit. But really, how long would she be doing this? How soon will she get an answer if she indeed has a mate and how ate her up? “Accept him and move on, what would happen if you do anyway?” A tiny insecure voice told her. “Hell no.” She couldn’t, not now, not ever. The moon goddess already stated the pack was to be mateless and unaffected by the heating season. So far, s
There's one rule everyone knows, never follow anyone blindly if you don't want to and Alpha Ciandra knew that better than anyone. But what would she do? Stomp her feet down saying she didn’t want to go? She cussed Beta Pierre for leaving her with him. They had a meeting inside the forest and she had been looking forward to it because she also had something important to ask him regarding the pack’s luna. She hasn’t stopped wondering where the woman went, for the weeks inside the Dark Shadow Pack, neither had she seen her nor heard anyone speak of her. It was as if she had disappeared into thin air, she couldn’t say the luna was dead because if she had been dead, she would have known. So, where was the luna? Did she know someone else was her husband's mate or so he claimed? How was she not thinking of asking the man in front of her? He surely would answer it correctly and faster. How would she start the questioning anyways? Alpha Ciandra felt like the only thing she had been doin
**WARNING** An eerie silence welcomed her when she entered Alpha Alphonso’s office, before she climbed into her bed, Callister had come to call her, informing her the alpha needed a word with her. And from how things went from the cave to the packhouse earlier, Alpha Ciandra was a hundred percent sure the man wanted to talk things about the pack. The small light from outside dimly lit the office, she couldn’t miss the interior design of the office. It was breathtaking, and well arranged with his cologne lingering on the air. Alpha Ciandra saw a piece of paper on the table, she picked it up, and for a few seconds, she admired the handwriting, the words were written meticulously as if they had all the time in the world. She read, "you left me. Alone." She rolled her eyes and proceeded, "I have gone to my bedroom to freshen up, I will be waiting for you in my office there. Hurry. It is important." Giving the office one last look, she folded the paper and dropped it in her pocket.
She was weak, confused, felt empty, and sore all over. She blamed herself for going to him, for answering Callister when she knocked. For forgetting the chances were high of him not giving up on her being his mate. Before she became his protector, she studied everything about him and the pack, and even after she arrived in the pack, she wasn’t too quick to judge anyone, well, except for Beta Pierre. Regarding Alpha Alphonso, she had listened to everything her father spoke of him, she hadn’t missed a word. She never thought she missed something as useful as the alpha being a beast. Did she zone out when her father mentioned something important? “Did things turn into shit the moment I laid my eyes on him?” She wondered as endless tears flowed down her wrecked face. She couldn't remember the last time she cried this hard, with the pit inside her stomach getting deeper. She knew of his behavior, his demanding nature, obsessive and every negative thing, and hell, she never said no to
Elder Karela's voice from outside didn't seem pleased at all, and Alpha Ciandra knew for sure the old wolf wouldn’t leave any time soon. It has been weeks since she saw the woman last, so, whatever reason she was there clearly she couldn’t wait till later. Alpha Ciandra went into her shower, showered hurriedly, dressed up, and opened the door for the woman with a fake smile. She appeared as collected as she could, and when the woman pushed past her, she held the door tightly to avoid falling. "Have I always been this weak?" She wondered as she closed the door. She wasn't someone who doubted herself, but after the alpha easily got his way with her, she wasn’t sure anymore if she had been strong, to begin with. Had it always been a lie? She thought. Alpha Ciandra managed a curt nod towards the one chair inside her bedroom. "Elder Karela, how may I help?" She asked. The woman had disdain in her eyes, she pointed to the bed and Alpha Ciandra finally realized why she was giving her
The nights and the days lengthened. The nightmares came in full force. Every night, she woke up screaming bloody murder, as much as she hated it, it bridged the gap between her mother, the woman she never knew. Unfortunately, she didn’t like the relationship as she was selling it to everyone else in the pack. Alpha Ciandra couldn’t help but remember the son she had abandoned. Apart from Alpha Hunter and Felicia, no one else knew she bore a child at the lands of the human. They had agreed to keep it a secret after Alpha Ciandra told Alpha Hunter she didn’t want her son to know the supernatural existed until he became of the age of transformation. Until then, Alpha Ciandra wanted Hilla to enjoy his life with Mart Stone. Living and having fun like everybody else. The idea of Hilla being here made her shudder. “Alpha Ciandra, let us check out the borders,” Avery said from outside her bedroom. “Coming.” She replied. They got closer after Avery promised to work on making Ciandra for
“I, Alpha Ciandra of the Vagabond Pack strip you, Beta Garrick, your powers as the beta. I denounce you as both the beta and member of the pack.” Alpha Ciandra said, smirking on her face. Felicia took his wolf and cursed him to never be accepted in any pack. As extreme as it was, Ciandra didn’t care. She dragged him outside and said, “An eye for an eye. Don’t show your face here.” “Two down, one to go.” Alpha Ciandra whispered while walking away from a broken Garrick, begging for Ciandra to give him one more chance. What he received was fair, right? For a best friend who betrayed her, she did it right. Another week ended, and the news was still circulating but Alpha Ciandra hadn’t been seen by anyone. She was inside the Vagabond Pack, tending to her father. And for the first time, her and Felicia’s relationship strengthened. She released the warriors but not without a clear warning that they would be shot dead if they dared look at her in the wrong way or even think of running aw
The news of the attack on the Vagabond Pack spread like wildfire. The return of the outcast alpha was the talk of the packs.Alpha Ciandra was back, and she was out for blood. With no news from Beta Pierre or Garrick, Alpha Alphonso knew Alpha Ciandra was coming for him with all she got. But until then, he planned on putting up a tough front that he wasn’t scared of. That he still had the power over the broken alpha. Did he?He said to Avery, “let us attack her before she attacks us.” Avery huffed, “Let me meet up with her and try talking to her, for a truce, an apology from you of course, offer her a few packs.”Alphonso was staring at Avery as if she had lost her damn mind. They all knew Alpha Ciandra wouldn’t care about that. “Plan the attack, Avery.” He ordered. “Let us not think irrationally. Alpha Ciandra is a good alpha. You destroyed her, remember? For all, we know she can be suffering from amnesia from all the beatings she got from you, asshole. So, go back to your safet
Come rain, come sunshine, Alpha Hunter couldn’t help Beta Garrick. For all he cared, the pack could burn in hell. Why would he assist the same pack that abandoned his daughter without a second thought?Everyone stood by as Beta Garrick shunned her.No one asked her if what Alpha Alphonso said was true. No one wanted to hear the side of her story and watched as she was turned into nothing but a mere wolf on the brink of death. It had been more than one year and no one has heard about her. And since she was a powerful alpha who had fallen because she couldn’t close her legs, thus breaking the rules, her name was now known by everyone, everywhere. The old, the young, and the pups.Alpha Hunter was a hundred percent sure his daughter was long gone. And if it wasn’t for the fact that the tiny room he was in had nothing he could use to end his own life, he would have died long ago.How cruel of Garrick to ask him for help when he has been starving him?Alpha Hunter by now was used to Garri
The human city was not as she had imagined. It was something more. Something better.Alpha Ciandra loved this life more than anything. If anyone had told her this the day she left for the Dark Shadow Pack for her duty, she would have said, “are you crazy? I was born to protect. To fight, and to care about somebody and not me.” Of course, life at first hadn’t been safe. She had been distraught, which was expected since it was the first time she was staying far away from home, far away from any supernatural, and only surrounded by humans who seemed to love partying, laughing, and not caring. She saw pregnant women laughing with their friends. No one carried weapons around. Oh, the mornings she didn’t worry about waking up. The humans taught her something she didn’t know. Freedom. The freedom was great. As mundane as it sounded to anyone in this human city, Alpha Ciandra found it heavenly. For weeks, she watched the humans, paying for a motel room with the money she stole from Hi
For someone who never cared about their relationship, he was mourning too much. The whole pack felt Alpha Alphonso’s sadness. Even the Vagabond warrior. How could they when the alpha screamed every night in anger, thrashing things around, listening to no one but only himself? And the only time he was quiet was when he was asleep. This turned Luna Adrielle into his nurse. She hated him to her core and yet she had no choice but to take over the part of being fully his mate. Every time she touched his arms to beg him to stop wailing, she recalled those same arms harming her.For an abused mate, she was doing more than she was supposed to.Her love for Alpha August has always been strong. She was the one who should have been screaming the whole night and not Alphonso. She was the one who should be asking everyone what time it was and not being asked. The woman didn’t have the time to mourn for her dearest dead son, the son she lost a second away from having the perfect mother-son relatio
Alpha Alphonso began feeling better. He could feel Alpha Ciandra right beside him and this brought everything to light. He came back to his senses and the first thing he thought was; Luna Adrielle must return.“Pierre, where are you?” He met a block.Ever since they left the Wilder Pack, they haven’t taken more than ten minutes together. Beta Pierre was busy dealing with their plans since he noticed the hesitation in Alpha Alphonso when they embarked on the Wilder Pack last time.Beta Pierre wouldn’t let go of his plans or won’t change the direction, he has lost a lot to just say fuck it just because the alpha had missed his second chance mate. He planned on following the plan till he died. No matter what it took, they were going to make him an alpha in one of the nearby packs. They will own numerous packs; this had been their goal.“Avery.” He called.“Yes, Alphonso,” Avery responded immediately.Alpha Alphonso smiled at that; Avery was something for sure. “Come to my office.”Avery
Alicia was sceptical about her mother. The way she talked, the way she walked and even the way she ate. Staring at Kelly, Felicia felt her heart breaking severely. The lady she had known for years was now staring at her with awe in her eyes. Wondering who she might be. Of course, there was the same love lingering in her eyes, just like before, the problem was, that love was directed to her for a different reason; Kelly was grateful the stranger saved her from the goons who almost killed her.Alicia excused herself and asked her mother to follow her.Felicia placed a simple kiss on Kelly’s cheek and followed her daughter. She closed the door behind her and then turned to her daughter. She was gnawing the inside of her cheek, something she did whenever she was nervous.Alicia noticed it, and she confirmed that indeed, her mother was hiding something.“Mom, there is no way Kelly will just sleep and wake up with her memories gone. The Kelly I know isn’t weak, even after she heard her da
Once a pariah, always a pariah. The only difference here is that, she brought it to herself. Bad luck was following her everywhere. Look to the right, to the left. Still bad. She blamed herself and the moon goddess. She didn’t need a soothsayer telling her this has to do with her.She had felt the storm coming, but she never thought it would be in the form of the death of Hilla. Hell, she hadn’t even sat and think of what would happen.Ciandra kissed the lifeless body goodbye and grabbed her phone from the nightstand. The last time she spoke to her parents was when they were here, this will be the second time. It sucked. How could she start, “hey, I killed your daughter, come and take her?”She stayed silent as the phone rang, when she thought no one would answer, a manly voice came through, “Hilla, I will kill you when I arrive there.”Ciandra’s breathe hitched, they must not find her here. She is a wanted wolf by vile Alphonso, the last thing she needed was to hunted by humans who w
